UK Health and Safety regulations say that a circular saw used for rip cutting should have a riving knife within 8mm of the blade. Most modern saws don't have one as standard because they are generally used on sites for cross cutting, it stops them doing plunge cuts and most importantly it adds a few pennies to their manufacturing costs. However, they are often available as add-ons. I made my table saw using a Bosch and the riving knife was well worth buying. It just feels much safer! I also made a safety switch that I have to poke my finger through a hole to turn ON but can turn OFF with my knee from where I stand.
Awesome! Great Job! Really inspiring Tutorial. Thank you so much for your efforts making this Video; i will make my own table saw according to yours 😃👍🏻
Nice build. My only concern is the distance between the end of the blade and the riving knife. Makita has circular saws with a riving knife, which moves with the blade. That model is way safer.

Or, may you get rich and do good, and then you have no issues buying even the one that is better than a sawstop, that would stop before touching it without breaking the stop mechanism 😎 or leave the states 😅

Warning :: I HAVE ALREADY TRIED TWO OF THESE. AFTER PUSHING AND CUTTING A PILE OF WOOD, THE PLATE OF THE SAW VIBRATES INTO THE RECESSED AREA IN BACK AND FRONT. @mr.IQhomemadeDIY yeah, cutting one board I can see that. Plus, by the time the sled is done, you have almost no blade left. I cut 4 x 4s from time to time.
It is always good to see when someone makes something great out of basic material by using simple tools. Great work man!
Thank you very much 🙏

You did the right thing. I have this test table saw, soon I will make another one with a shutdown button like yours.
Please tell me where you got the Riving knife as I’m having trouble finding this
This is very nice diy table saw tutorial. it is highly budget saving for a country like me where real table saw are expensive 👍👍

Hello. Unfortunately, my saw model did not have a riving knife, so I had to make it myself.

very good job with tools not too expansive :-) well done keep on bro

Fabuloso.
Lamentablemente no tengo medidas.

Hello. Thanks for the comment. No, unfortunately I don't have a plan.
Put it in the bin would be a start

You're own made tablesaw very very impressed.
Hello. Yes, I made the saw table myself. Thank you very much for your comment 👍
Und das alles mit 19mm Spanplatten? Scheint mir sehr wackelig. Wie will er da Platten drauf schneiden?
All dies ist aus 16 mm Spanplatte gefertigt. Die Konstruktion erwies sich als sehr langlebig.
Very impressive

How did you ensure the tracks are parallel to the blade?
Hello. Changed the distance from the blade to the track. The back and front of the saw blade.

Going to need this when the United States forces blade stops on all table saws

The cutting height is 5 cm. It is quite enough for cutting chipboard and plywood.

you can do it like that
