I'd say the parallel between the crystal gems with Steven and the Diamonds with Pink can be summed up with how Garnet described Steven in the episode "The Test" were she says We don't know what he needs. This could be how the diamonds probably didn't understand how Pink felt about forming the colony on earth and what was happening during the rebellion trying to help her but still making choices they think is best for her similar to how the crystal gems keep hiding the truth from Steven like Rose shattering Pink Diamond.
We just got a leaked clip from “ A Single Pale Rose” and it didn’t look like a Rose and Pearl origin story. It was more like more insight on the war. On the other hand, “Can’t Go Back” is actually the Lapis on the moon episode, so we might get their origins there.

These excuses could show Pink as trying to negotiate, in a way, to hold on to what she can, whilst refusing to let go of what she doesn't want to lose; almost bargaining if you would. Lastly, as we don't know much about White, I just lumped her with denial, but with previous theory speculation on that she could possess the ability of memory manipulation, this would link as an ability akin to denial. Additionally, her non presence at the trial of Rose Quartz could suggest personal denial of the situation. Anyways that was a lot longer than I planned but I wanted to put that out there as an interesting subject!!
