That PIO did not know what hit him and looked like his brain just short circuited. The Srgt was on point and props to him for upholding his oath and not bending to protect the PIO. Great job on know your info man and keep up the good work. One of the best if not the best shutdowns I have seen.
The cop was totally uncomfortable in not being able to support his courtly master though.
I normally go ballistic when the auditor shakes the cop's hand, but in this instance I would have been terribly let down. : )

Hi everybody please get behind this guy he is one of the best well-versed Auditors out there he's calm collected and knows the law he speaks with authority and confidence please do not skip through the ads I know they are annoying just turn your volume down and do something else for a minute or so. It would be good if we could assume that the police would use their weapons and cages as necessary, instead of as an enjoyable past time.

I have to say this....It's amazing how soo many people work in Govt Offices/Positions...working for the Public....especially the Cops....but they don't know nor understand the Laws that they're supposed to uphold or explain or defend!!!!! People look at you and Diminish your Audits and the Work you put in....But i swear We Need these Audits bcz Obviously People Need the Education Clearly!! So Thank you for what you do....I have learned Laws i didn't know existed....and also how to Defend oneself at certain instances...and how to deal with cops....just by Watching your Audits. I am from the Bay Area and we also have an auditor who has a style similar to your in holding people accountable.
What I like the most is that you are both professional and for the most part respectful. As with any situation public employees can bring the worst out of you at times. The difference with you two is you kill them with your knowledge as anyone can say I would do that or this but once out in those situations it’s different.
Appreciate all that you do as you also advance forward and the passion that you place into what you do makes you shine!

I APPLAUD YOUR TACTICS MY DEAR SIR. That PIO being misinformed AND telling you incorrectly ,trying to scare you with possible contempt charges was awesome. The realization that he wasn't absolutely sure about what he spouted.( atleast not wanting to be on recorded record) he started self-soothing, by rocking back and forth. I hope that with your calm persistence and knowledge of law statutes ,(that when he was corrected) that he understands that, that is why you are there. Deputy understood constitution and wordage which is kudos to him. There is an absolute problem I've noticed with people being given false information and insisting it's fact.

A PIO that doesn't know the basic understanding of public photography and threatens citizens with criminal contempt should be removed. Exposing both incompetence and positive performance within the various levels of public service is why auditing work is important and necessary. Kudos to the one LEO.

Secondly, when the cop came up at the end, it would have saved so much time and trouble if he would have just shut up and let you talk. He NEVER understood the point you were trying to make after his sighing and interruptions. His ego just knew you were trying to argue about the recording in the courthouse when all you wanted was for him to educate ol’ guy about no privacy in public. I would hate to have to rely on him in an actual emergency situation if he’s just going to act first before knowing what’s going on...
