Hello! Another fun chat to listen to while I hand quilt! I just want you to know how much I enjoy your channel's content. I hope you have a fabulous week ahead! Thank you for sharing this video and your time.
Pretty in PINK! Thx June, this is such a sweet quilt. I'm thinking about doing another with the same fabrics but setting it on point. That'll really be fun to see. I have those gorgeous pink fabrics right next me and am so ready to make another quilt with them. 😍🤗😍 Thanks for following along! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Glad it was helpful, Karen! What I particularly like that I didn't really expect is how the background tied together so well across the blocks. It's a fun and easy quilt! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
You are very welcome, Ginette! These prints work so well together! That's what I love about buying curated bundles - someone has already done the work. You get a great selection of fabrics with both background and bold prints, plus the varying size of the prints and graphics. I love fabric shopping but fabric bundles sure make me happy, too! LOL Happy Quilting, Lea Lousie
Thank you so much for your kind works Q-308! I appreciate that so very much. 😊 When I moved and didn't have any quilter friends I had to re-boot. Yay for TH-cam as I now have more wonderful quilting friends than I could have ever imagined. Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
That's the best combination, Connie! Every quilter has a pile of fabric that would be beautiful for this pattern. I know I want to make another. LOL Happy Quilting, Lea Lousie
...and definitely a must re-make for me, too, Giselle! I love this one a lot. Not sure if it's the specific fabrics or the fact that it's monochromatic. Probably more the color as it's so unusual for me to only quilt with a single color. It's a fun one to make! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Good thought, Lisa. My choice is based on the quilt's purpose. If I'm making a baby quilt I'll generally go square. If it's a lap size then I'll do a rectangle. If it's for a bed I'll usually go for a large square. Of course that's all subject to change at anytime! LOL Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
This is my first visit to your channel - thanks to a link from Fabric Hut. I, too, have always liked the diagonal chain, so I liked that you pointed that out as one of the options for the layout. Question: Because it is such a simple pattern, I think it would work well for flannel … do YOU use a larger seam allowance when sewing with flannel? I’ve been nervous about using the “scant” quarter inch on flannel because of the loose weave and extreme tendency to ravel, so have toyed with using 3/8” instead. In simple blocks like this pattern, I wouldn’t mind the slight alteration of the finished size and they should all still fit together, right?
Welcome, Holly, and thanks so much for watching! Generally I make rag quilts with flannel b/c they do ravel more than most cottons. You can cut the same size blocks and use a bit larger seam allowance. If you use the same seam allowance on all your squares, your 4-patch will be just a bit larger than the 9-patch. You just need to trim all your blocks to the same size. That way it'll all fit perfectly! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Thank you for your insight! You are helping me be more 'creative and think outside the box! You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you again!

Love the use of two different blocks. I have a huge amount of cut squares and this quilt will use some of them. Thanks!

This is lovely. I'm curious if quilts go through certain size trends. I'm noticing lately, most quilts and quilt patterns are for square sized quilts.
