These really are awesome fabrics, Lesley! It's a fun quilt to make. I love that just a simple modification in the seam allowance makes putting it together much easier!
Thank you for sharing! I love it, the fabrics are gorgeous. I have the same line of Tula Pink, now I know what I’m going to make with mine. Very inspiring. Thanks again!
Hello! I hope you had a good day. I was busy in my sewing room all day and didn't finish anything but had fun and filmed with a very talented sewing partner. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thanks for sharing your video, time and talent.
Awesome! Thank you, Cynthia! The FQ bundle had a couple dozen fabrics so there were lots to choose from and I think it worked out well. I must admit this was a bit of a stretch for me, too, as those Tula prints really make a statement. There are some I'd love to have more of try in other quilts. So keep on stretching! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Flying Geese are one of my favorite quilt blocks and I usually use the "no waste" method. Having said that, I appreciate the tips you provided to make the point just about perfect. I can't wait to try your tips out the next time i make this block. (P.S., I love the Art Gallery Fabric free patterns! They are so generous in providing some beautiful patterns.) Of course, their fabric is awesome too!
Sounds like a fun plan, Lana. Be sure to check out the free tutorial download in the description. It's for the star quilt I made with Kaffe fabrics and it turned out wonderful! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
We all have struggled with points at one time or another, Peggy! Once we find the trick to make it work for us, points find themselves many more of our quilts. 😊 Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
Actually, that was going to be my first choice to get as many lg squares from each FQ. With 9" lg squares, you'll need four smaller squares measuring 4 3/4". But I didn't want 16 of the same geese. So I cut two 10 !/4" squares from the width of the FQ. Then I needed four at 5 3/8" which fit exactly to the 21 1/2" of the long side of your FQ. Believe me, you'll use every inch right up to the selvage! Enjoy making your FQ! Happy Quilting, Lea Louise
One more question. If I want to make a wider 1/4” seam, would I move my needle one or two clicks AWAY from the 1/4” guide on my presser foot? Thanks again for your time.
I’m glad to see you’re feeling better.
Much better, thanks! Of course playing with fabric helps a lot, too! LOL Happy Quilting,
Lea Louise

Ty. I’ve always had problems with the points

If you are cutting your “geese” fabric from a fat quarter and cut it into 9” squares, how big would the background squares need to be? Thank you!

@@InspiredQuiltingbyLeaLouise Thanks for explaining it that way! I’m going to make mine almost exactly as you’ve made yours.

Sorry hard to follow with the camera keeping refocusing.
You're right, Patty. A new camera is on my list! Thanks for watching. Happy Quilting,
