There you have the option to buy a ticket just for that ride, or you can buy a day pass for every cable car in Chamonix area or even a multi day pass for every cable car in Chamonix.

      Hi surya,
      That's perfect. We wish you a lovely time in the beautiful city. The walking distance between all the stations are approximately 10 minutes, through the beautiful city. It's all in walking distance. There is also a little tourist train driving through the city if you want to hop on hop off.
      Yes, there are multiple possibilities to park your car. Most are payed, but it is a reasonable price for parking in such a tourist area. There is a not so known free parking 'spot' in Chamonix.
      If you search for 'Le Francotel' in google maps:
      maps.app.goo.gl/5EeDKcAZpkxfoUcz8?g_st=iw
      In that street is free parking without any time limits.

      @@Hikaholics Awesome, you should come to Costa Rica pleanty of hiking here you would enjoy:) The only question I have, is about crossing via Auguillie du Midi to Monte Bianco on the otheside to Italy. I know that is not in the clip but just wondering if you think it is a good idea or you heard about it, if you know if it is opened on Late March or is it closed by the season, and if you think is it worth to cross the border quickly and come back on one day. I know it is possible but not sure if worth it, I will stay in chamonix just 2 days so...Just wanted to maximize the time/effort here. If not, what would you recommend as Day 2 after doing all in this video emm jeje the other question I have, I will go after chamonix to interlaken. Thoughts about how to go there from chamonix, what could be better, coming back to Geneve and take train there or going by train to Martigny ? Not sure if that route to martigny is it always open :/ THANKS A LOT! Pura vida!

    • @Hikaholics
      @Hikaholics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply, we somehow only get notification from new comments and not from replies…
      We would love to come to Costa Rica! Deen already visited Costa Rica 6 years ago and he would love to show me (Alette) the beauty.
      We haven’t done the crossing ourselves, so we can’t say what it’s like from our own experience. But we’ve heard mixed stories. Some people really liked it and others didn’t think it was worth their money. But we do think since the views at aiguille du midi are already beautiful, the views from the crossing must be even more spectacular.
      We have been to Courmayeur (where the crossing ends), and we liked that city as well. It has a lot of history and a lovely city center. Good to know is that when we’ve visited Courmayeur the shops all closed during midday (as most shops do in Italy). In France (chamonix) the shops are open during the midday.
      About the timetable for the crossing. The planning is available until the 7th of January. So we are not sure if the cable car crossing is open late March.
      Here is the link to the website with more information
      www.montebianco.com/en/info/cableway-access-schedules
      We hope this helps!
      About the two days in chamonix, you can easily spend two days in the city. It is absolutely lovely. There are many outdoor shops to roam around. This day was doable, but packed like we did in the video. There are great restaurants and bars in chamonix as well. Some suggestions are:
      -Shouka for great coffee
      - big mountain brewery for great pizza and beers
      - cool cats for great hot dogs
      Other tips you can do is do some day hikes from chamonix. We have multiple videos on our TH-cam about day hikes around chamonix like
      - the mirror lakes
      - petite balcon sud
      - passy national park
      You can get there by public transport.
      And about how to get to interlaken (which is beauitful as well btw!), we haven’t done that train ride. But best is to go to the train station in chamonix and ask them to help you. There is a direct bus from Geneva to chamonix (which is a beautiful ride as well), and there are multiple trains per day found from chamonix to martigny. The train rides in this region are an attraction itself. They are super beautiful. So we would definitely recommend doing the train ride from chamonix to Interlaken and enjoy the ride.
      You can always send us an email if you have more questions, than your questions won’t get lost here on TH-cam haha
      hello@hikaholics.com
      Hope you will enjoy your time in chamonix!

      Hi!! Thank you so much. So cool that you are visiting Chamonix, you will love it 😍 In almost every shop and restaurant they know English! It’s a town which is used to tourists. So even in some places they will only talk English.

    Kudos for sharing this video. I am going to Geneva this Dec and plan to make a day trip to Chamonix Mont Blanc. How to go there by bus? Is it easy to purchase the cable car ticket locally or better to buy it online (do you have the link)?

    • @Hikaholics
      @Hikaholics  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Dave!
      Thank you for your comment. There is a bus from Geneva airport and Geneva station straight to chamonix. We booked our tickets via this website:
      www.swisstours-office.ch/EN/Uncategorized/Regular-Line/CT5301BT/easy-bus-transfers-regular-line-from-chamonix-to-geneva-from-7.-euro-544.html
      It’s about 12 or 13 euros for a single ticket. And the bus ride itself is already beautiful!
      The tickets for the cable cars are best to book at the cable car itself. There are little receptions at each cable car where you can purchase your ticket right there. You can buy also day tickets for the whole chamonix valley at each desk.
      However, there is a possibility to buy the cable car tickets online via this link :
      en.chamonix.com/chamonix-mont-blanc-valley/the-village-resorts/chamonix-mont-blanc
      There you can click on lift and ski passes. Also on that website you can check the prices of the cable cars.
      Hope this answers your questions! Always happy to help 🙋‍♀️

      Hi Nathan! That's so cool that you are going to Chamonix in May. We lived in Chamonix for about one year. This video was shot in the middle of November. In early May most of the snow will be gone in the area (Chamonix city is completely snow-free), only when you visit Aiguille du Midi (the first place we've visited in the video) you will see snow because that's almost 4000 meters high. And you'll probably see a few patches of snow if you hike high up the mountains. When we hiked the TMB in the end of June we still had a few snow patches. In May you have nice European summer-weather. Warm, sunny days probably. So bring shorts! :p Please let us know if you have any questions about Chamonix, places to visit or eat. Love to help! Hi Becky! So lovely that you are going to visit chamonix. It is such a beautiful place! If you only have time for two things I would suggest doing 1) mer de glace, since that is a whole experience with the little red train through the mountains and 2) aiguille du midi with the high cable car and the views are insane! Than you have enough time to stroll around the city center. How long you will be at each ‘thing’ depends on what you want. Some people go there, have a photo moment and go back instantly and other (like we do) stroll around for over an hour and have a look at everything. Both ‘attractions’ are super central and everything in chamonix is super close by. So you can definitely do both in one day! Hope you will have a wonderful trip!

    As we are spending 3 days do you have any suggestion on how we can maximise our days and see Chamonix
    We want to visit Aiguille du Midi & Grotto de glace should we do that in one day and ski on the other days we arent site seeing? We also want to visit QC Therme spa in Chamonix.
    Do you have any suggestion for restaurants?
    Thank you! 😊

    • @Hikaholics
      @Hikaholics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jenifer! Thank you for this compliment! That means a lot to us.
      Weather/snow conditions permitting, you can usually ski in Chamonix from December-April using the lift system. In March the average daytime temperatures generally fall between a high of 6°C and a low of -3ºC. And temperatures still dip below freezing at night to freshen the slopes up. So probably the 'low elevation' ski slopes aren't there anymore, but higher up (say Brevent for example) will probably still be covered in snow.
      To check the weather we use these sites/apps. It is really handy to download the Chamonix app since you have the weather forecast in there, webcams to show the real time situation and the timetables for cable cars and trains
      - Meteo France : meteofrance.com/node/568425
      - Chamonix app: en.chamonix.com/usual-information-services/chamonix-mobile-app
      - Chamonix app webcams to check real life weather: en.chamonix.com/webcams
      - Chamonix app weather forecast: en.chamonix.com/weather
      Considering the planning: Visiting Aiguille du Midi and the ice cave in one day is definitely possible and even a fun day. We would recommend to visit Aiguille du Midi first. The first cable car goes up around 8. Then you will be there before the crowds and you will see the mountaineering people ski down. That's pretty cool to watch. When you walk from Aiguille du Midi to the ice cave you have a nice walk through the city where you can easily grab some snacks or lunch during the day.
      Hopefully this information helps. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us!
      Most of all: Enjoy your time in beautiful Chamonix! You will love it.

      Hi!! Sorry for the delayed answer, we were in Norway for a whole month and took some time off 🙈
      We absolutely love chamonix in early spring! The temperatures are getting quite nice. There are lots of things to do. The only thing you have to be careful about is if the cable cars are open or not. Some close during April for maintenance. Best is to check out the www.seechamonix.com website and the chamonix website itself.
      If I say it correctly:
      Aiguille du midi is open year round (except some weeks in November)
      Brevent and flegere will close at the end of April.
      But again, best is to check the website where they give you the exact dates of when the cable cars are running or not.
      Hope you will enjoy your time in chamonix as much as we did!

    Would I be fine with getting a ride to Chamonix and walking (paying separately for the activities) around vs paying for a tour?

    • @Hikaholics
      @Hikaholics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shana, we didn't book a tour on any of them. You can buy an unlimited day pass for all the cable cars and that includes the trainride to reach Mer de Glace. So whichever stop you get to first, you can buy a ticket there. hope this answers your question?

      @@Hikaholics Hello. We also gather in Shamony. What is Skipass .. I think it doesn’t mit it to buy it if you want to visit only one place in one day ??

    • @Hikaholics
      @Hikaholics  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Дмитрий777-ъ6з The day pass is a ticket for every cablecar and train in Chamonix. You can buy also a three day ticket, or just the ticket for the ride. It's best to go to the cable car you want to take and ask which ticket is most suitable for you

      Daypass for all the cable cars and the train is around 70 to 80 euro. Hope this helps? Enjoy chamonix!

      @Hikaholics I'm Scottish so no slaps here. But I'm always getting dirty looks from my friends in the south of France when I use the northern name.

    Why tourists always get it wrong. the Mont Blanc is NOT the highest mountain in Europe, it’s the highest mountain in the Alps. 🙄
