  • This is a honest review of the backpack OSPREY Aura AG 65. The Osprey Aura AG is one of Osprey's backpacks specially made for women.
    I have had this model for several year and are very satisfied with it. No hiking backpack is perfect and neither is this one but the pros definitely overweighs the cons and so far this is the best hiking backpack I have tried. I have used it on week-long hikes as well as short overnight tours.
    Listen to my experiences of this backpack and find out if this could be a backpack for you!
    I have the the 65 liters version of this pack but you also have a smaller called Osprey Aura AG 50. The men's version of this backpack is called Osprey Atmos AG.

    I've read all the replies prior to composing the following:
    I'm in complete agreement with you Stina as you emphasized "comfort" instead of the weight of the backpack. When a backpack "fits" your body it will tell you so & your load is simply part of you.
    Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

    I just got in to the "ultralight" backpacking myself. It's a good thing if your able to stick whit a base wigh of no more than 6-8 kg. But if you have to cary a little heavyer load ul backpack is not the way to go. But I got from a base wigh of between 23 kg for a week long hike to just under 11 kg. But I agree with you on the point that personal comfort is a bigg thing to consider when buying a backpack. Great review Stina! Really nice to see you.

    I have this backpack and actually found you because I was looking for a video on TH-cam to help me figure out all the different features after I purchased it. And here you are! Very happy to see this video. As I just purchased this pack about three weeks ago in the US, the rain cover fits it completely covering it entirely, so maybe they’ve upgraded the rain cover since you purchased yours, but it was a relief to see that the new ones have adequate rain covers now!
    If you have a recommendation for the best or even a good battery pack/ solar charger for iPhones, iwatch etc I’d love to know what you suggest. I have a very heavy solar paneled charger that I took on a 4-day trek in the Andes, but the solar panel doesn’t work, at least not for me. I had it tied to the outside of my pack. Also, lightweight binoculars?! What do you guys recommend??
    See you in August. I’m really looking forward to the trip you’ve created and that I’ll be joining.

      Unfortunately the squirrels shewed up my backpack when stored in our shed during winter so last year I bought a new and a little bit bigger Osprey called Ariel Pro 65. /Stina

    I carried mine for about 1000 miles with about 16kg in it. I know there are lighter weight ones, but I love my Aura. I have the 50l version.

    Should compare this to the Osprey Eja 48L and 58L, 1kg lighter if not more.

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't tried Eja. I wouldn't want to have an even smaller pack than the Aura 65. If I could wish something more from this pack it would be that it was a 70 liter instead. /Stina

    Funny Matti did a few months ago a test on backpack and said the Osprey's ones are too soft of a frame, so it was moving a bit too much on your back.

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      His model did, but this one doesn't, not at least on my body. Also there is no perfect backpack and it's very individual what you like from person to person. /Stina

    Verkligen en bra recension! Har du någon erfarenhet av light/(LT)-versionen av denna ryggsäck? Jag har haft svårt att hitta den vanliga versionen i Sverige nämligen.

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hej Lisa! Tack, vad roligt! Jag har ingen erfarenhet av LT-versionen. Tror de kanske "strippat" bort lite fickor o liknande för att få ner vikten lite annars vet jag inte om det är någon skillnad. /Stina

    I’ve bought this backpack and I’m a bit disappointed, because my head hits the framing and I can’t hold my head upright. Maybe I should have bought S size instead of M one, I don’t know...

    Har hatt den større varianten Xena 85 i noen år nå og er helt enig i at det er den beste store ryggsekken jeg har hatt. Minus er at det er plass til mye mindre enn i min forrige 85 l sekk (!).

    Doesnt fit everyone. The suspension mesh doesnt touch my back unless I'm really hunched over, therefore all the weight pulls me back, esp going downhill. Pack loaders are as tight as possible. It's not how its packed. No point in having airy mesh to help your back breathe if it's not even lying on you. Finally met an REI employee who had the same issue. My backs going to sweat anyway, I'd like to not have my pack pull me backwards. Wish the hip belts were shorter too.

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't exist a backpack that's fits everyone. We're all built differently. But if the you feel the backpack pulls you back I think you should try to pack it differently. It's very important to pack correct. It can make a big difference, also that could be the reason the mesh doesn't touch your back. /Stina
