  • Well it's now been two years since I had my Xpel, self-healing, clear coat installed on my Bronco. Here are my thoughts, how its held up, and what the issues are. Cool your ash and pack your trash!

Special thanks to Sunco Protective Films for doing my wrap! I’ve been loving it

Try isopropyl alcohol to clean that sap. I wrapped the Vision Creative Co bronco in Xpel stealth halfway for the protection and halfway for the matte look haha. Cost $5k for the whole vehicle. I’ve abused that thing off road pretty constantly for 2-3 years and it still looks great. I like knowing I can just get it rewrapped in another 2 years and it will be fresh paint underneath. The main thing I like is to not have to worry about the paint every time I off road.

100%! I’ll try the alcohol but it’s etched in pretty good. It’s totally my fault for not cleaning the sap and acidic clay off quickly. I’ll report back

Nice informative video as usual! I wrapped mine 15 months ago, but went with XPel Stealth. I wanted to differentiate from other Code Orange Broncos, but I found that the stealth also does a good job of hiding the pinstripes that don’t heal. I did full wrap including the tailgate, the door sills (did those in clear to match the rest of the door opening) and headlights (they take a beating in road from grit spread in the mountains during winter). One area I didn’t do was the inside of the tailgate, but my Trailgater protects most of that now, so I left it uncovered.
The XPel has held up well after loads of tight trails, it was expensive but I’m glad I did it.

Do you use anything special to clean or coat it?

@@TheNewnan3 No. The film installer said I could use just about any type of soap, but I would stay away from soaps that are formulated to enhance the shine on the satin ppf

Most people are unaware that you can polish PPF like paint, so you can probably get a lot of those scratches out with some free time and elbow grease.
