I see a lot of producers saying “WORK ON YOUR MIX!” and stuff like that ... man now I see it’s not all about that . I got a whole different vision about mixing but now it’s good :)
I learned from listening to Travis Scott's music that mixing isn't really that important as long as sound selection is good and the mix isn't stupid. It just doesn't have to be perfectly tweaked like most people make it seem
@@Butters_Stotch_187 for real. The kits that we used already processed million times. So most of the time, we don't have to put the crazy work there. Seeing tumay mixes really open my eye tbh. He used only a few plugin lmaoo
Ryan Lintner bro there's an Interview with mike dean where he's talking about how all of Travis' music is at like 4db. And listen to stargazing, all the clipping and that stupidly loud snare. It just made me realize that as long as sound selection is good, no need to put all these eq's and effects to make it sound levelled or "perfect" in the mix
Nick, if you've watched it, you should know that you're a very cool and sweet person. Thank you for your words. They are really strong and give inspiration
To everyone in this comment section, listen and learn his skills, but dont copy his STYLE. His unique style is what makes him such an amazing producer, not so much the skill (although he is a genius)
Nick stop tripping on wat people think, you is and they ain't.... people shud be grateful and thankful on sharing the truth on ur success and the new music game, wat all of us beat makers/producers been wondering for along time. It's about time producers come together and stop hating on one another 4real...God Bless bruh!!!
this is pure truth, ppl overthink the mix too much. I used audacity and the effects that came with it to produce a song for my friend on soundcloud that has 130k plays and counting to this day (the mp3 on there is low quality too lol and ppl still f with it), dont let anyone tell you your mix isn’t perfect. you could sit there for days trying to make it perfect, but good enough will suffice. if it sounds good it is good
i clean my 808's or any other sounds using 4 eq's and a maximus....Just solo the sound in maximus U want to clean and then use eq. one by one....one eq. for low end one for mid and one for high...and the fouth one for overall sauce....i found this trick useful
Why are you even cleaning your 808’s with that many eq’s, let alone at all. If you make your own 808 then yea. But your 99% going to be using a 808 from a kit. And their already super compressed and effected.
Anyone have general mixing levels for how nick mira mixes his drums? Like where the 808 sits in comparison to the clap, and where the drums sit in comparison to the melody, etc.
After the mixing that the producer does, is there always a professional mastering engineer that masters the track. Like right now during the mixing process the 808 isnt wide and full for example and than when the song is released it is always wider and fuller.

80 20 rule. 20% of the essential fixes for a mix to get 80% of the results. If you be perfectionist about the mix, you will get diminishing returns.
