I think they just not practicing mic etiquette well while recording these sessions cause sometimes he gets loud enough and other times he's just drowned out by FL.
'Never do this' is quite steep of something to say. You can add other melodies in the same octave; just EQ it. It isn't hard to hpf something + widen it out.
For the first tip you don’t really have to limit yourself like that. Just lower one of the bands 3 to 6 dB so you can still use that range for both sounds but let one overlap the other without clashing Edit: also panning your sounds
I think he was trying to keep it pretty simple as not to over complicate it for new beat producers. Of course once one starts learning they will inevitably find out more of what you speak but yeah good point.
I am tone deaf with lower frequencies, and I was just talking to someone yesterday about how I struggle with tuning kicks and writing bass lines. Step two in your video was EXACTLY what I needed man, thank you
ok! lol yo btw i have other vsts and sample kits and drum kits and expansions and everything u need only $20 but shoot me ya email ill send something FREE so you know im legit.
No cap I’ve been making beats in ATL for years but as soon as I picked up some of quick Nik tips I’ve had over a dozen placements... salute bruh keep getting to the bag!!!
sheldytheproducer you need to get your inspiration from other producers to finally come up with your own style. Original style just dont come around like that lol
facts lmao ayo btw i have other vsts and sample kits and drum kits and expansions and everything u need only $20 but shoot me ya email ill send something FREE so you know im legit.
Damn y’all really care about the producer community. This other channel tries to teach but he doesn’t sell beats and he acts like he’s too good for that. Y’all some real ones deadass 👊🏽
Dude, I thought I was done. Out of motivation Your videos gave me inspiration and reminded me of how simple the start of my creations could be. Thank you
I usually put my bass at 150-200 Hz and cut out the melody's lows on right on 200 Hz, and that usually sounds fine and then I cut out a little bit of the frequency that the hi-hats are at
I remember like a year and a half ago when y'all had 10K subs. First video I ever saw was the Nav Type Beat tutorial with the Chernobyl Omnisphere bank. Crazy how far you guys have come ~
aye i watch a lot of your videos and this one is the MOST helpful BY FAR. Its aimed towards a certain subject and has bad vs. Good examples which really helps. I would love to see more videos aimed towards certain subjects rather than having to dig thru all the type beat videos
Another thing for the 808s, if you can't hear your 808 then its probably because your melody's frequency is too low. You can fix this by adding high pass or changing the octave like Nick said.
Also, tips for melodies, dont worry about shortening or lengthening notes, just lay some stuff down, also dont build chords togther, just lay notes down and build random chords that sound good off those
U have to dont forget something, root notes isnt the lower in the chords root note is the note who give the name of the chord and ur 808 dont play the root note here ur chords are Csus2/Dmin7(with 7th upside down)/Gmaj and Emin so ur real root note are C/D(but bass can play F)/G/E this is why ur 808 sound not that goot hes not realy in tune .. if i can help some beginners in music theory to dont make misstake ;)
@@mugenpower7545 wise words, but I agree with mira when he says that artists think the overcomplicated drums are annoying. The drums that he made were very over the top
@@mugenpower7545 he did specify that if you want to sell the beat then it's better to keep it simple. It increases the amount of artists who can rap/sing on it, therefore increases your chances of getting placements. If your purpose it to make YOUR art, go ahead that's fine. Scarlxrds beats are crazy af with kick rolls and sounds you'd use to torture someone but removing that would ruin his sound.
Really useful info! Deff make more of these intermediate videos. There’s so many beginner videos and advanced videos but not a ton like this, keep it up!
To all people saying u can’t make good beats without omnisphere. Try sampling. I tend to sample things to make my own sounds and cool melodies etc and come out with some fire stuff. Just a suggestion
Exactly i think this nigga is too hell bent on following the rules of producing instead of making music and thats why he has all these basic type beats in my oppinion man took a fire ass beat and ruined it saying "this is what rappers like"
@@styl1ssttt i know about the type beat marketing but im saying sticking to tye rules of this is how iit should be and this is what rappers like will keep u between the lines instead of making something bad until you find something good and new

aye guys at internet money turn up the mic volume just a lil bit
Yeah lol I cud hear him and fl was loud af
I think they just not practicing mic etiquette well while recording these sessions cause sometimes he gets loud enough and other times he's just drowned out by FL.
no need to be so polite haha, TURN IT THE FUCK UP lol i couldn't hear shit and the fl was all over the place
Yeah music is little to loud compare to the voice, just a tip.
PROD. BY FLUE lmao this guys a pro producer and he cant turn up the mic volume
Don’t sample/interpolate Sting.
(EDIT) : Wow I didn't think this would blow like this, and ppl mad at me. I see how u feel now nick
😂😂
Step 8: Stop hating in the comments section
Why not? He made himself and sting bands off it. Seems like a win win to me

There were a lot of unnecessary "Never's" in this video
d star I disagree.
What I've learned is that you should never say never when it comes to music.
I felt that was bad advice as well. Speaker knockers often made and used beats that had a lot of the same octive playing at once
never take advice just take it as an opinion

There's a high chance for phasing issues, but i get your drift.
