Nice! Load bearing vests are a God-sent! I have a blue and black vest for different assignments. Huge difference in life back pain. Be safe out there!!
My back used to hurt so much from carrying all my duty belts. My dad had to retire early because his back hurt so much. At the academy, instructors don’t talk about how much pain you can get from sitting in a car with a duty belt on for 10 to 16 hours. I wear a duty vest. But I don’t carry a lot of tactical gear on it. I just keep the basics. Body cam. Ammo. OC. Baton. A good light. And of course narcan and a med kit. I really like your video.
Speaking of your medical kit, I've been a cop for 16 years and I'm also an EMT. I've never had to use a tourniquet on duty but I've had to pack a wound and I've also had to use many pressure dressings over the years. Mostly responding to stabbings and things of that nature. So don't ever let your fellow officers make fun of you because when you need it, you got it right there.
Hello Lt. SGT. Doug here. That is a very nice taticial vest. Our dept. Uses the Blackhawk Viper vest. My trama kit is on my vest, with my taser and 2 511 soft M-4 CARBINE mag pouches. I put my extra cuff in there. My Gerber tool and flashlight. My belt is the same Safariland Sam Brown belt with the Nickle buckle. I have my key holder on it, my Oc Spray, 6360 tripple retention holster, cuff pouch, and glove pouch. The left side is my mag pouch, ASP in the scabbard, and radio pouch. I have my plates in my vest as well. Yours looks great! Mine is black. Great video. Keep safe, fellow Lt. In Blue! watch your 6!
I want to be a Police Officer and I would pick the Vest Carrier when I become a cop and the things that I would put on the Vest are Handcuffs Pepper Spray,Magazines,Flashlight Asp and Tourniquet on the Vest and I would put the Firearm,Taser, Radio Glove Pouch and a Pair of Handcuffs on the Belt
So glad to know I’m not the only one that sees the benefit of keeping the blowout kit in that spot! So much more comfortable than in the small of the back!
Good on you my friend. I do the same. I'm a 16 year police officer as well as an EMT and I have used my medical kit many times in duty. I carry the ar500 SOB IFAK in my vest. Works great.
@@copmom911do it. We have long struggled to get females at my agency and they come in very handy when it comes to searching female suspects. You can talk yourself out of 95 percent of fights so as long as you treat people good, being a female offers no disadvantage. Having said that, I would personally not recommend in working a place where you have no backup as a female. My first law enforcement job was at a small sheriff's department where backup was about 45 minutes away and I got into a lot of bad fights with nobody coming to me. However, I took a job with a bigger agency where five or six officers would show up to a single call and I never worried about back up. Police work sounds like fun and games but the first time you find yourself toe to toe with a drunk on a Friday night and it's just you and him, you want all the backup you can have. They will fight you to the death to keep from going to jail.
Great videos! It's so refreshing to see a police officer just go through everyday life like anyone else. As someone who aspires to become an officer, how should I deal with family who don't support this decision. My parents support the police entirely, but they don't want me to join as they know the physical risks of the job as well as the scrutiny that the police face today. Follow up question; would you be in support of your children wanting to follow in your footsteps and join the force. Thank you for everything.
I understand, I would be extremely selective of where you decide to work and if you haven’t, check out the selecting an agency video I did. Their concerns are real but I hope they understand your wishes. There are ways to keep yourself as safe as possible so I would also encourage a department that does extensive training. I would prefer my children do other forms of public safety if they have that desire but I will discuss this more in depth in another Q&A video! 💙
@@copmom911 thank you so much for answering my question. I’ll definitely try to explain to them how certain areas and departments are safer than others. Hopefully that will help gain their support. Stay safe out there.
hi cop mom if you are able to lower the tazer holster which i see theres a lttle room to move it down youll be able to draw faster when needed love this videos looking at going to SPD Academy

Yes! Even with physical therapy and stretches and yoga...it is still a struggle. Yes, we are not meant to sit around like that!

That’s good to know. I haven’t personally used a tourniquet but the officers on my department use them often. So handy to have! 💙

Does it have plates in it to make it bulletproof
Yes, our vest plates are inside!

I’ll check on that! Thank you for bringing that up! 💙
Hi, what brand is that? We went to carriers in 2018, then two years later upgraded to safariland Oregon city 2.0
It has slipped my mind and we were just looking at this at work due to me getting new plates...I will check and let you know! 💙
Just checked and the brand is Point Blank!
I’ll bet that makes a big difference getting so much weight off of the utility belt!
Would you be open to doing an arresting techniques video?
What was used to mount the bodycam?
Just the regular axon wing mount I believe it’s called!
@@copmom911 Thanks and fortunately already have one! Tryna plan setup for when I get my external vest in a few months!
The ifak should be on your vest
But where? There's no room! 😩
you're allowed to take your equipment home? i thought yall just leave everything at the precinct at the end of your shift
Yes, most of us work private security jobs as officers so it is a must! 💙
Who made the vest?
It is point blank enterprises inc. 💙
In speaking of your tourniquet I’d rather have it on me and don’t need than don’t have it on me and I need it
Yes me too! 💙
who the hell makes fun of someone for carrying a med kit?
Oh a ton of people…seems backwards though right? 💙
Good video
