    Hi guys and thanks for stopping by! My name is Melissa and I have been a police officer for 13 years. I am currently a lieutenant in a large metropolitan police department, but I remember my police academy experience like it was yesterday! It was filled with ups and downs, positives and negatives, but it was all worth the suffering to achieve my ultimate end goal! In this video, I share with you what to expect in the police academy process. From the physical requirements and training to being pepper sprayed, tased, and passing the physical agility course. I also discuss the firing range, EVOC, and SWAT week!
    Thank you so much for your love and support! Can’t wait to see you in my next video!
    Always,
    Melissa

    I was wondering if you could do a video about finances as a police officer? So, how much you should be saving, salaries in relation to location, affording different items, middle-class?, rent, bills, etc? It would be really helpful to me!! Thanks, love the content 😊.

      Hello and thanks! There are so many people who are experts on finances on TH-cam! I surely am not but a few channels I have really found useful advice on are Marissa Lyda and Budget Girl. Both discuss moving out of debt and saving for retirement. I could briefly discuss benefits I have taken advantage as a police officer financially in my next Q & A. I would also highly suggest consulting with a financial advisor.

And would never change it for the world but I still wonder what it would be like to sit in a patrol car all day. I just love the brotherhood of firefighting and that's why I would never change it for the world, I respect all the cops out there thing is people don't get is were all the same only I carry a set of irons and you carry a gun And I hope all you anti cops get were all human we all have families. #thinredline #thinblueline

I am close with some my fellow officers but they share a very strong bond. I’ve thought more than once about fire, but my heart is in policing...I may take a few fun digs at firefighting in some of my videos. Please never be offended...just a fun rivalry 😃🚒. (as you probably know now) Yelling and screaming is an attempt at stress inoculation...but if they are bringing that into the classroom, then that's sad bc it does affect concentration & information retention. A lesson the Marines already know, which is why Drill Instructors are not the primary teachers. People just need to remember, "Nothing lasts forever." • @copmom911
      @copmom911  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Federal or local, I would wear business attire. Either a pant suit or nice dress pants and blazer. I would have my hair up in a bun. It doesn't have to be slicked back or extreme, just out of your face and professional. For the academy they will give you a list of what to bring. And as far as hair, braids feel most secure to me but my academy didn't allow them so you'd have to check the rules. I need to just do a whole video on hair styles for police work 😃💙

      😂😂😂 I thought the same thing with being shot…it doesn’t always kill everyone. I will admit exposure is helpful because you have an idea of how it will affect you but I don’t think a full face spraying is necessary and that’s what they did to us 💙
