Have to agree. There have been a few times when things were not going as planned and it seemed as if David was getting frustrated, while Steve was still optimistic and joking around. "Once I drill out this rusty bolt that you twisted off, its going to be epic!" That sort of thing.
Thank you so much, sir, for letting me watch your marvellous programme, and letting me do it for free‼️ You are a wonderful human being. God bless you, sir, God bless you‼️😇😇😇
You must be new to youtube along with Motor Trend. There are Millionaires and Billionares that earned all of their money just on TH-cam. I've personally met one of them. He's worth about 60 million today. Ad revenue is a powerful thing when it's paired with good content.
About the worst mistakes, I remember how my brother in law spent 20-30 minutes figuring out wtf is with his engine that it won't run. I was with him on messenger. Turned out the he didn't turn the key to ON position. Yeah, I do remind him about that from time to time :D
Just offering my input. The first 30ish episodes before the focus became so sponsorship centered were really high quality episodes with lots of content and awesome stuff. I don't think that same quality standard has been held, especially since the move to subscription based website viewing. Still enjoy it, just not quite as much. I think if anything the content creators would be happy that I'm willing to offer my truthful and honest criticism rather than just lick their wrenches.
Hearing about your own and your friends engine screwups makes me feel all the better that my 350 Buick build (first engine build, finished in May) had no catastrophic hiccups. The only thing I did was I forgot the oil galley plugs on either side of the cam. I broke the motor in with NO oil pressure at all. Never drove the car further than a block to my house from my dads and parked it until I figured it out. Fixed it and 4,500 miles later it still works and pulls to 6k lol. I also overheated it twice. Both times fan belt flew off due to misaligned pulleys and doing power pulls with said crooked pulleys. Got up to 260 on the gauge. Funny thing was it was still running perfectly fine but over the sound of the engine (open headers at this point) I could HEAR the coolant boiling in the over flow tank. So, yeah. Fun times in engine building.
my dad did a crown conversion on a corvair pickup. The guy he bought the bought it from had shortened the bed 3 feet in the rear. Chevy 325 with a tornado Drive train. Rear engine, rear drive. Thing was hilarious and you could damn near turn it around in a two stall garage. Wheelies for days. I miss that truck. Thanks for bringing that up
I am an avid Roadkill fan, and am tired of people complaining about MTOD. You don't have to pay for the extra content to watch traditional Roadkill if you wish not to, you only have to wait like we always did. I subscribe to MTOD and am actually very happy with the access to older episodes and different content monthly for less than someone would pay for a fast food combo! Roadkill Extra is constantly updated and contains alot of neat "actual look" content. If your not a big enough fan to support a brand, then don't, but don't complain. Simply put.
Hey guys I really enjoyed that! Had me chuckling with the rotor story. It would be interesting to see some of the cars that Dulcich has. IT would be cool to see the that Challenger/Cuda that was behind you and find out the history about how he managed picking it up and the story about it and behind it. Thanks guys keep up the good work!
What a great episode! Its ironic that all 3 cars, the FJ40, 69 beetle & XKE are all on my wish list. As for mopars what I alwsys liked about them is that they would put pretty much any engine in any body that they could fit it in. Like the Duster with anything from a 198 straight 6 to a 360 V8
On the tape /blower issue. For Winterfest one year, one of the V/8 snowmobiles;ie track driven dragsters, got their blown BB Chev to fire with the manifold taped up. They made a pass but it ran so bad they knew something was wrong. Then they saw Duct Tape in the exhaust headers. I was working the start line at the time and we all had a good chuckle about it. Did'nt hurt the motor but clean up was Hell.Small pieces of burnt tape all through the motor. Those were the days.
Keep it up MotorTrend,if it wasn't for lack of a comment section (half the entertainment IMO) I would exclusively watch Roadkill and your other shows on your website. There is not many other shows I would say that about.
'89. My bro-in-law put a Krayco Indy Cosworth on the dyno, with me gazing in awe. Fired it up. Revved it to 12k. Nipped up. Forgot to turn the water on. "Now a spare engine".... cough. Long ago enough to tell the story.
Lost oil pressure after R & R intake on an 80's goldwing... tear down to the oil pump and found a Bounty Paper Towel that we some how left in the intake while prepping... Wrapped around the oil pickup... She Lived and is still on the road today...SMR
David answered a question on one of the new videos about how long they will be able to continue doing this saying "it depends on how mtod goes." So who knows, maybe all the people complaining about a paid service for roadkill may be the reason that it disappears entirely. I for one try to support the shows I watch and enjoy. Then again, people pirate movies they say they love, and choose not to support them, making the odds of more content that much less plausible. SMH
Video doesn't shoot and edit itself. Traveling to random places gets expensive. Plus having fun with junk doesn't attract sponsors to help with the costs involved.
Finnigan moves to Georgia, so they recasted HotRod Garage. Now Freiburger has a new cohost on his own "garage" show and they brought the Q&A session over from HR garage. So, basically the same show as HR garage was in the beginning, just a different co-host because the other one moved to the east coast.
The best penetrating oil I've found so far is 'Power Tune' by Mercury Marine. It's not technically penetrating oil, it's combustion chamber cleaner, but it works great. It's also good for cleaning carburetors, which is what I mostly use it for.
No they don't. Finnegan lives in Georgia so he can't always be there for this behind the scenes stuff, this is one of 2 Q&A's that are with Dulcich, the other ones are with Finnegan but they can only film ones with Finn when he's around
Richard Petty made me a Mopar fan. Winning all them races while i was growing up. Now that I'm older I admire lots of different brands. Although i dont know if i could bring myself to ever buy another Ford after having to drive that 69 Torino to high school and having it strand me so many times.
well they have a 4.99 a month free 30 day trial. if you use paypal. anyhow, im not impressed with what you get.. not much content as of now. i will not be renewing my trial. if they want to promote this on demand.. they need more content.
you don't have to watch it m8. Where the fuck do you think they get the money to make this show? TH-cam? Ha! They would make peanuts from youtube. Most of their money comes from additional revenue sources like magazine sales and merch AND MTOD. They couldn't continue without the MTOD revenue stream.
When you talk about the tape on the supercharger are you referring to the episode of Overhaulin' when that happened? It was funny because the piece that was blocking it said in big letters something like 'remove before attaching' and they somehow didn't see it. It happened just like you said it, they were trying for ages to get the motor to run so after a while they took it apart and found the piece of plastic taped between the two pieces.
as far as mistakes go, the shipping pucks that were used in the c5 corvettes when shipping from manufacturer to dealers story. some dealers never removed them and to this day there are people driving there c5s around with the pucks still in the shock absorbers preventing them from working..
I can tell you exactly who left the tape on the intake when the blower was bolted down and it wasn't on a dyno. It was in the car for a build on a TV show and made it through the cuts and was on the show. One of my favorite mistakes someone else made for me to learn from.
Sign up to me too while ya at it. I'll just need your credit card info so i get get the correct amount(that I'm looking for) 😂 it's a joke don't get pissed have a good day👍 but seriously check out my videos I have a badass jeep😎
Howdy guys, am a ford nut here. I've got two and half questions: On the Cougar/cleveland episode, how that old high compression motor do on pump gas, and how hard did it pull? What would you rather stuff in a '75 mustang 2 for a " run what you brung" local race track night; a high compression ( close chamber 11:1 ) Cleveland with a FMX or a Dove C FBB 460 with a C6?
The 1st(1968-71) and 2nd(1971-77) generation Holden Monaros were also classic muscle cars out of Australia that are now worth a lot of money both in Australia and here in New Zealand.......
I am australian. through the 2000s we had some interesting ford's also. we had stroked injected Windsors and the factory 5.4 quad cam modular motors. the best though is our in line 6 4.0L twin cam turbo. it's like a grown up rb25..... I think these guys should import one with the tremac and put it in a gremlin or early mustang. they can make big power for cheap and 4.0L is enough to keep it strong at the bottom end. cheap as chips now too.
OK, so initially I was not a Dulcich fan having become accustomed to Finnegan, but now that I’ve seen him on Roadkill and especially on Engine Masters I’ve become a big time Dulcich fan. I really like his alternative opinions on Engine Masters which make me think. He and Freiberger have a good chemistry.
I don't remember the name of the custom shop but I do remember what happened in the supercharger story. The shop was working on a candy red, drag ready 57 Bel air that they were going to race against a Checker. They tried for a long time to get the engine started before taring it apart in-car. once they got the supercharger off they realize that the fuel they manually put in the engine was pooling up and they realize that someone had forgotten to take off the shipping tape.
While you're updating things, a "play next episode" option or a playlist on MTOD would be nice instead of scrolling down and clicking through the pages to get to the next chronological show for new subscribers who haven't watched them as they came out.
The fact that you put "Free" in the video title is insulting. "Hey, plebs. Here's some free food I found at the back of the fridge that's about to expire. have at it"
People complain that they aren't letting people see stuff for free, they give something out for free then people are still upset. This video is main;y promoting the service where you really can't blame them since it's a business.
If you can't afford $5 a month, then this is what you get, and quit your bitching, at least they're letting you watch it eventually. Get over yourself, not everything is for free. get a job.
here a tough question. In a theory would a high compression engine take less fuel in order to complete the cycle not just performance wise just a enough to complete the cycle.
Chev thing here ...put a carb from a 350 on a 305...it has electric choke...do i need to dial it down ...cuz it bogs when step on during forth gear...forgot to mention...its a 3o5 and mechanic from a k1500 84' with a 90's TJ slap on
When you guys come across a oil pan, that's been put on with silicone, why don't you torch it a little to soften the GLUE, for easier removal . Just a thought
1963 Dodge 413 Crossram Torkfight, 4.50 gear set in a 3/4 tone rear with wide off road tires. Was at the end of the road. Wheelies on a street car in the late 60's. It was the first fast mopar I remember. Who was that guy?
The story about the tape on the blower. That was on an episode of Wrecks to Riches. That dude, I am sorry I can't remember his name, owns SMC build shop in California. I felt bad for the guy, that was a simple mistake and stress not needed at that time.
I'm in school and to poor to afford the episodes I always liked them after school they would relieve my stress. But guess you cant have what you cant afford so oh well:(
You guys make a good team. Dulcich is such a cool, laid back sort of dude.
P B Blaster! All the way! Or Nut Buster.
Have to agree. There have been a few times when things were not going as planned and it seemed as if David was getting frustrated, while Steve was still optimistic and joking around. "Once I drill out this rusty bolt that you twisted off, its going to be epic!" That sort of thing.
Came here to see Big Joe. RIP buddy.
I remember when Roadkill Q&As were always free...
Bro, just pay $5 dollars a month, $.17 cents a day
+Here Kitty Kitty ! I'm a Jeeper, need all my money for parts lol
I mean its just $5 a month
and extremely rare.... right now even if you dont watch the paid program, you probably get as much Q&A stuff as always
Here Kitty Kitty !
Bro, I won't pay almost the same cost as Netflix for 1/10,000th of the content.
I love all the dogs running around in this one.
OMG!! DAVID YOU ARE THE MAN. I own a fj40 and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy when you said that was what you wanted
RIP Big Joe, always in our hearts!
Really..FREE..THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH
Thank you so much, sir, for letting me watch your marvellous programme, and letting me do it for free‼️ You are a wonderful human being. God bless you, sir, God bless you‼️😇😇😇
I want more Dulcich. He's awesome!!!
andreboy1 yes he's a cool dude
You have cool dogs dude. Nice.
Thank you MT for cutting down on the spam. As always appreciate the real content.
Just waiting till MTOD is gone and it's all free on youtube...
When MTOD goes away their whole channel will probably die. They have already gotten a taste of $$.. It's all over from here
thats bs they are sponsered by so many people, aint shit dying
you really can't spare the few bucks a month. pretty sad
You must be new to youtube along with Motor Trend. There are Millionaires and Billionares that earned all of their money just on TH-cam. I've personally met one of them. He's worth about 60 million today. Ad revenue is a powerful thing when it's paired with good content.
Thats exactly why I don´t get this MTOD crap.If the product is right, you have no budget issues-period.Think about it you oh-so-great-Freiburger.
About the worst mistakes, I remember how my brother in law spent 20-30 minutes figuring out wtf is with his engine that it won't run. I was with him on messenger. Turned out the he didn't turn the key to ON position. Yeah, I do remind him about that from time to time :D
I always want fries and a burger when I hear the name Freiburger.
Dulcich on Roadkill is starting to grow on me.
Question for your next Q&A: Why did you let motor trend kill Roadkill?
I think probably has to do with contract with Dodge.
no MOTD=no roadkill.
Man these ignorant comments really confirms my opinions about people on the internet.
Wystawy.
Everyone is freaking out about Roadkill selling out and MTOD in the comments but ignoring the fact that he said "base model sandals."
Awesome!!! Freiburger loves DOGS! Major Credibility!
So I assume with all of these "free" extras and constant advertising the MTOD sub numbers aren't quite what you expected?
Hearing about your own and your friends engine screwups makes me feel all the better that my 350 Buick build (first engine build, finished in May) had no catastrophic hiccups. Two of my favorite gearheads!!
Yeah, I am a Ford guy, but I still like you guys! Thank you all for sharing! Keep up the good work!! Jim ( the ford guy)
my dad did a crown conversion on a corvair pickup. The guy he bought the bought it from had shortened the bed 3 feet in the rear. Chevy 325 with a tornado Drive train. Rear engine, rear drive. I watch n rewatch especially the q&a eps all the time n learn somthin new every time.

I got my first job a few days ago so I will finally be able to pay for a subscription to rcod!
no one cares
I do
I regret that I can only tell you once how DESPICABLE you are
The internet is such a nice place full of friendly people :)
Congratulations!
Any chance that Roadkill Garage episodes will find their way to this TH-cam channel once they are maybe 6-months old...
Please?
doubt it
they need their "money"
I dunno, they keep adding more and more stuff that we *USED* to have to pay for, back on YT, for free...
You guys have some cool azz dogs with you. That is hot rod.
Hey guys I really enjoyed that! Had me chuckling with the rotor story. It would be interesting to see some of the cars that Dulcich has. I relate to these two guys because they're very casual instead of others with suit and ties and scared to brake a nail. keep up the great work.
I like hearing about Dulcich's old drivers, especially the truck he said spun 7000 rpm, I like these Q&a sessions too
On the tape /blower issue. For Winterfest one year, one of the V/8 snowmobiles;ie track driven dragsters, got their blown BB Chev to fire with the manifold taped up.

We want more shows and episodes free here on TH-cam you guys make a good working team I love watching your show both of you guys👍👍
Keep it up MotorTrend,if it wasn't for lack of a comment section (half the entertainment IMO) I would exclusively watch Roadkill and your other shows on your website. There is not many other shows I would say that about.
thanks for the free episode...loved it
Thanks boys appreciate it!
and everything you do!

im really mad that mostly all of the stuff for road kill is on moto trend on demand
exactaly how do u think they get people to pay they take the most popular show and add a bunch of extras and inside access
The money to make these shows has to come from somewhere.
they're promoting they're business. people bitching about them promoting on their FREE youtube videos. if you don't like it, don't watch it
I have a corvair 95 (the windowless cargo van) that I'm saving for a crown 8 conversion :) I geeked when he "crown"
LOVE YOU GUYS..Love this show...Engine Masters ... and Roadkill

secretly everyone is a mopar guy
MOPAR OR NO CAR YOU DAMN SKIPPY!
nope like gm cars and trucks
No way. Mopars are universally ugly cars.
+Tito Rigatoni You're obviously drunk or high Mopars are the sexiest vehicles to ever roll off the assembly line
+Dave thebeast Neither drunk nor high and it looks like you misspelled "ugliest" in your comment there
I love it how you refer to your flip flops as base model 😝
Where's Finnegan?
georgia
Freiburger and Finnegan hate each other.
Whys that?
No they don't. Finnegan lives in Georgia so he can't always be there for this behind the scenes stuff, this is one of 2 Q&A's that are with Dulcich, the other ones are with Finnegan but they can only film ones with Finn when he's around
Something must of happend
Richard Petty made me a Mopar fan. Winning all them races while i was growing up. Now that I'm older I admire lots of different brands. Although i dont know if i could bring myself to ever buy another Ford after having to drive that 69 Torino to high school and having it strand me so many times.
So not enough people are signing up so you wanna give us teasers to make us pay? Hmm ok...
Teasers then actual shows lmfao
Yeah I wish they would just accept that some people just aren't going to pay for MoD. It feels like TH-cam is just an ad board for them now.
M0U53Y these are my thoughts too, was way better without the on demand deal which sx
well they have a 4.99 a month free 30 day trial. if you use paypal. anyhow, im not impressed with what you get.. not much content as of now. i will not be renewing my trial. if they want to promote this on demand.. they need more content.
you don't have to watch it m8.
Two of my best characters!
as far as mistakes go, the shipping pucks that were used in the c5 corvettes when shipping from manufacturer to dealers story.
some dealers never removed them and to this day there are people driving there c5s around with the pucks still in the shock absorbers preventing them from working..
I can tell you exactly who left the tape on the intake when the blower was bolted down and it wasn't on a dyno. It was in the car for a build on a TV show and made it through the cuts and was on the show. One of my favorite mistakes someone else made for me to learn from.
The blower with tape thing was done on a Rust to Riches episode.
Going to sign up now that you offer paypal as a payment, thanks for all of the awesome content guys!
Sign up to me too while ya at it. I'll just need your credit card info so i get get the correct amount(that I'm looking for)
😂 it's a joke don't get pissed have a good day👍 but seriously check out my videos I have a badass jeep😎
no one cares
+sykwookiee Yea I can tell by his name lol. You have a good day too sir.
Seeing the Hellcat off road hurt l0l I love my blacked out 707 challenger. You 2 have a gr8 show.
The dog has a bigger brain than most people on the internet
maybe that could be a roadkill episode, the motor trend guise try to find a car that David would like.
The 1st(1968-71) and 2nd(1971-77) generation Holden Monaros were also classic muscle cars out of Australia that are now worth a lot of money both in Australia and here in New Zealand.......
I wish I was there just for the dogs.
the part with the taped blower i saw that on from wrecks to riches
Good show!
Appreciate the chance to evaluate MTOD-exclusive stuff.
A: CRC Screwloose it is! Added to my amazon cart.
I didn't miss it, I'm watching it right now.
"Don't hit the dart" was a great running joke.
I almost spit my coffee out with the story about the taped manifold haha.
For me the best penetrant is Deep Creep (Sea Foam people). Foams up real good and have never found a tool it won’t fix.
poor blackie he had to wait till the video was over before they removed the sticker from his paw.the dog farm is an awesome place to be a dog
content like this used to be free.......
I am australian. through the 2000s we had some interesting ford's also. we had stroked injected Windsors and the factory 5.4 quad cam modular motors. the best though is our in line 6 4.0L twin cam turbo. it's like a grown up rb25..... As a supporter of mtod... Do you guys have a comments section in the app?
Comments coming soon. Thanks for the support!
While you're updating things, a "play next episode" option or a playlist on MTOD would be nice instead of scrolling down and clicking through the pages to get to the next chronological show for new subscribers who haven't watched them as they came out.
will it be made available in aus soon?
Hey MT, Redacted. It's original content. Jumped de gun.
Dulcich needs some crest white strips
You guys are assholes.
dulcich needs to turn in to Finnegan and we could have a spin off of roadkill with out him they shouldn't use the roadkill name
Penetrant: Try (CRC) Knock R Loose with judicious whacks. Reapply as needed during twists. Very satisfying.
The fact that you put "Free" in the video title is insulting.
"Hey, plebs. Here's some free food I found at the back of the fridge that's about to expire. have at it"
You don't pay for it it's free. This show is normally a motd exclusive. Get 5 bucks a month or get over yourself. You are a pleb
chillout and enjoy the content or go watch selina gomez videos
are you butthurt or something?
People complain that they aren't letting people see stuff for free, they give something out for free then people are still upset.
This video is main;y promoting the service where you really can't blame them since it's a business.
If you can't afford $5 a month, then this is what you get, and quit your bitching, at least they're letting you watch it eventually. Get over yourself, not everything is for free. get a job.
Maybe a Holden HSV Clubsport G8, perhaps with a Sonny Leonard 727? Just a couple thoughts! Love what you do!
1 episode "free" for every 15 teasers hehe
We should be able to buy single episodes too!
here a tough question. In a theory would a high compression engine take less fuel in order to complete the cycle not just performance wise just a enough to complete the cycle.

When you guys come across a oil pan, that's been put on with silicone, why don't you torch it a little to soften the GLUE, for easier removal . Just a thought
Dulcich and Lucky should get a show together.
I want a 70 duster so bad , but it's hard to find one thats not a rust bucket.I would love to resto mod one.
elesjuan If its built right the 4L6 is solid .I hate to mix especially with mopar ,but somtimes it's worth it .

Thank you. After I saw some douche bag completely ruin an original Hemi Cuda and a 69 RS Camarro, I have been kind of skeptical of restomods.

Barry White did the tape on the bottom of the blower thing too. I think it was on the checker that he built and brought to SEMA
Cars + Dogs = Happiness
Steve seems like a cool guy.
the blower tape thing was on wrecks to riches on their 57 Chevy build

How old are you? I mean 5 dollars a month? I suspect that it has much more to do with your priorities than your lack of wealth.
