I got Motor trend on demand and I don't care about paying that much, because of the awesome content. Its worth the money completely. Great job on that car guys!
+David Freiburger david im so happy about the new channel i enjoy your videos and learned so much about american cars with it here in england! keep going mate BEST SHOW EVER!!!
+Motor Trend Channel I love the content but the service simply doesn't work for me, support doesn't solve anything, I'm subscriber since november and keep paying because I love the shows so much but in reality I'm not getting anything.
i have been waiting for this my whole life, this is the way us real folks do it thank you so much for a show normal everyday people can relate too! this is what working on old cars is about! you have to have a passion and a good friend who shares your same interest! i wish i could do what you do every day!
This channel is under rated. I aint even into cars but love to get to know the technicalities of cars/engines from a beginners prospective and this channel just oozes knowledge from experience all of which i have this channel to thank.
This video made me feel so much better about my own project car 😂 between the wrong flywheel and attempt at pull starting is part of what makes me really enjoy this show! Really just everyday people.
+Motor Trend Channel for honest i started thinking should i buy MTOD. but i live in finland and i cant watch all content in there but have to pay same amount as others. if that get fixed somehow i might try it out.
The way dulchich drives that bad boy you can tell it shoots him back to his cool days arm out the window to the look on his face priceless ..get it my dude only car you worked on can bring on that amount of coolness.
Hey Dave Freiburger, I have a tip for all you guys. I have long lost count on how many coolant blasts I've watched you guys do.. ALL OF YOU!!! There is a simple solution to not getting coolant all over everywhere and having to spend the time to clean it up and work in it... Are you listening????? Ok, take a 2 foot long piece of 3/8ths tubing, (copper works very well), and a piece of rubber hose that you can squeeze onto one end of the tubing. Bend about a 90* hook in the end of the tubing that has the hose on it. Grab a few containers to catch the coolant. Slip the raw end of the tubing into the radiator and sink it to the bottom of the rad tank. Suck on the other end of the hose to start the siphon. Drop the end of the rubber hose into your container and drink a beer!!!!! This is a very simple tool to make, so you can make one for ALL the guys who we watch CONSTANTLY douching shop floors, parking lots and the occasional friends driveway... lol.. AND you can carry one with you each time you go on a ROADKILL adventure!!!! This doesn't do you much good on top tanks, but for all those General Masterbaters cars and truck you guys do, it will work just fine.... Love the shows!!! Ps. When are we ever going to see some of Dulcich's cars???
My son loves the zip tie plug wire loom. He's used it more than once and the guys at the Firestone store he works at have used it on their personal rides. He like myself have picked many tricks from Roadkill and refreshed our memory on some we had forgotten. This is why this show is so popular. You don't have to have a ton of money to enjoy the hobby. In my son's case it's a hobby and occupation. All he ever wanted to be was an auto mechanic. When he went to the local 2 yr. college the lady who assessed his test scores for the course(s) he had chosen told him with his math grades he could go into engineering. He told thanks just the same but his life revolved around turning wrenches. Damn good kid even though I guess I'm a little biased.
Honestly, what you described about your son also describes myself, I know it's not a good idea but I am more interested in saving for a project car of some kind so I can work on it than I am in saving for technical college for mechanics
It's kinda the way skaters and trenders lace there shoes ha ha there's a different cool way to do it I'm going to try it myself too Harbor frieght has zipties 100 for a dollar ...
Tracie Watts Moron why sounds like my son and he was chosen at his community college 18 yrs old while working on his ASE certified classes a major elec car company took him in as a inturn he's now 19 and makes 25/26 bucks an hour what do you want your kid doing at 19??? shows like this inspire young and old I used the zipties and tossed the moroso cheepo snap in looms from Auto zone or whoever the zip ties look better and all that show chrome look at how much I spent on my chrome crap is out ......
@@justsayin235 I've pretty much always used regular sockets with my battery and air impacts, even on auto repair stuff. Never broke one and chipped the chrome on a couple. Ymmv
This is awesome. You started with a garbage motor that didn't run and ended with a garbage motor that ran for a few minutes. I have to commend you, that's better than most people that rebuild Fords.
Much respect for being up front and not getting money hungry guys! Good luck to all your ventures anbd future videos. As long as you guys keep RK free and YT avalible Im good :D
+Motor Trend Channel Hey guys, i really love your content and would like to give you my money, so when are we going to get paypal so that i can throw some bucks your way?
I like your show. No whining. People still don't realize your show is fun, entertaining'and a blast to watch. You throw in some tips. Plus you are having a having fun yourselves. Keep doing what you are doing. Ignore all the naysayers. They probably whine about everything.
Love to see I’m not the only one that’s had these problems in the past great job guys very fun to watch but sometimes things do go perfect if you do enough of them
Energy Their shows are for car guy entertainment bro. We don't watch these to learn. We already know cars. If you need to learn how to do a particular thing, there are a lot of instructional vids on YT by thousands of different people. 👍
Love this 67 cougar video. I bought a 69 cougar for 800.00 bucks in75 and the guy I bought it from, willie D at willie d,s speed shop in Milton changed out the old 351 and had put A hot 351 Cleveland in it he bored And stroked to the max and what I called a 3/4 inch low loop cam that had torque and hp almost like a hot 454. I took everything in our town that thought they had bad mopars. I did change out the card from a 650 to a 1150 and it had air like crazy. I’ve sat in one spot and blew two old cheetah slicks just for fun. I don’t know the hp of that baby but 383 up to 440,s was looking at my tail lights. I even took a bad vet with a 454. The little rich boy didn’t even turn around to come back to the line and shake hands. He kept going. A Torino ss took me by a half car length two years later. Woke up one Monday morning to go to work and pulled out on to the main rd and it slung a rod. I never was able to get her back to the torque and hp she had. Candy apple red with a half White vinyl roof. Straight 2 1/2 inch pipes with a set of hookers. She rocked from side too side and I always loved the way she sounded. Love all your videos dude.
Vasko Chicago Well apparently it worked without it but there is no longevity there. After doing so much work, having to tear it apart again would be terrible. What happens to these cars after the episodes? Are they junked?
Totally agree, really stupid to do all that work to put it back together with a trashed cam bearing. Especially since now every time you drive it you'd be thinking about how that bearing is about to go out. Guess that's what happens when you're doing it for a show instead of doing it because you actually want to keep the car going. I hope when they pulled it to do the flywheel they put a new bearing in it.
I LOVE that car I had one exactly like that one in the mid 70's except it had a 289 4 speed ,it originally had an automatic and was changed to the 4 speed without changing the gearing so it was a dog getting off the starting line but I wouldn't shift into 3 until the finish line of 1/4 mile. Of course mine still had good paint and no dents or rust. I traded in a 65 Mustang convertible with a 289 Automatic that I literally wore out street racing, I had to drive it 14 miles to trade it off and I had to stop and put oil in it. It was sold to the paper guy who drove it for a couple of years, it looked like a mosquito fogger going down the road. I would love to have both of those cars back today, I am 59 and when I had those cars I was 15-17. Thanks so much for this video I loved it. It reminded me of the way I had to keep those two cars running. I changed the tranny in the Mustang 6-7 times by myself sitting in front of our house, I actually got really good at it, jacked up the car climbed underneath unhooked and unbolted every thing and drop it on my chest and back out from under the car, Those were the days, I can't even change oil in my vehicles now due to arthritis I am guessing too much fun in the good old days.
+Ram Skirata Negatory good buddy. They could have at least JB welded it right. Of course Freiburger's from LA so the cam bearing looked just like the streets that he drives everyday. Probably thinks the oil will just swerve to avoid hitting the obstruction's Like the drivers of Southern California....
I really appreciate what the roadkill crew does for the motorhead community! Car guys have been so discouraged by popular tv shows and everyone thinks you have to spend at least 50k in order to have a cool car(including myself)! But you guys proved mainstream America Sooo wrong. I'm back to working on my old muscle cars and ignoring minor defects that I thought would for some reason ruin my car project! Big Thanks from average income motorheads everywhere! I love Roadkill!!!!
Hotrod Garage is great for beginners which is why I was always kinda bored but this! This! Is great! Its for the people who already know the right way to do it, but secretly wish they could just slap it together and not care :)
I dig how Dulcich holds his head all off to the side (@19:51) while rallying the piss of this poor thing...like it's some sort of therapy. Keep it up dude!
You created something beautiful, then started doing 30 min ads for Dodge, and now you're slowing moving content behind a paywall. And now every video feels like you're using TH-cam as a sales vehicle to drive people to your website. Best of luck fellas.
I watched some of this and I liked it a lot. I'll pick it up again and try to determine why you left that cam bearing like that. (the three day deadline deal?) You guys must have known better than to expect to fire that up for the first time by pushing it. The honesty of showing stupid mistakes is especially refreshing. Keep up the good work!
I enjoy Roadkill, but this "trend" of paying for limited content is not really my thing. You would have been better off doing an episode with product placement here on TH-cam, you're using those parts anyway...
As the owner of a sometimes-running '68, I'm so happy to see a Cougar made it to Motor Trend. I always assumed you guys were not FoMoCo guys. (I know the Stubby in Episode 44 was a Ford, but still)
Lol no. TH-cam subsidised the cost of the show to keep it on TH-cam for years as well as the dodge sponsorship. All that went and they had to do something to keep it going.
In the spirit of Roadkill Freiburger needs to search Craigslist for a Ford Granada/Mercury Monarch for a "modern" spindle disc brake set up. Find a 9" Ford rear end. Was surprised the 8" didn't explode doing burnouts and power shifts. Get some traction and dump the clutch and the 8" will explode like glass.
Thanks for rebuilding a Cleveland. My D1AE is coming out of the Pantera soon (I'm not going to rebuild it myself) but I will be able to take it apart and make a big mess!
This is my question too, apparently some of it works and they said they'd sort it out and allow reduced monthly fee,but so far silence. I'll sign up once they sort that
This feels so much like some of the junk me and my buddies used to get into! ...and some of the junk I still have in the driveway. Ha. Great show! I love that you're not in some spotless, million dollar garage stocked with half a million dollars worth of tools.
+David Freiburger David have the wrinkles been sorted for those of us down under ? I was one that signed up months ago only to find zero worthwhile content for outside the US. Long time subscriber and supporter of the show but I was royally pissed with the "to soon" roll out of MTOD especially as no disclosure was made for the lack of content outside the US.
I laughed so hard through this episode!! Their back and forth banter and just all the fails like the flywheel diameter and then trying to start it by towing and the fire!! OMG I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard! EPIC!!!
+fredmachine Fri said they might be able to get a cheaper rate for people outside the US because they get less stuff, i'm signing up as soon as that is put in place...
+fredmachine Im outside the us and it works fine all you miss out on is some of the nascar stuff. Its about £3.75 a month so Im not complaining. I only want to watch roadkill anyway. If you want to watch the blocked content just use a USA proxy server.
weirdstuffanimation7 Yeah, and I guess 7€ for Roadkill and Roadkill Garage is something I could spare... If they accepted Paypal. Not going to get a credit card just for this.
Truly enjoyed the pilot but there's a reason that TH-cam has become the worldwide phenomenon that it has. It's the free content. Wishing all involved the very best of luck but with already paying for Netflix and HBO subscriptions I'll pass on the MTOD paid content.
Imacar yay yeah they're probably the best actually. the more I watched roadkill garage the more I realized how horrible dulcich is on camera and how much of a jerk freiburger is.

HAHAHA Dulcich looks just like i do when I'm trying bang gears
+michael cianci That sunglasses, the seating position and the facial expression , got me so hard., laughed my ass off. Great Driving :D
DxCBuG not to mention he's resting his head in his right shoulder
Dulcich is the bomb. I'm going to go ahead and subscribe, you guys make fantastic content.
Yeah, he seems like a nice guy. First time ever seeing or hearing of him
Alex Rodriguez he was on a few episodes
He was on the duster one
marshie1337 me too.
As the owner of a sometimes-running '68, I'm so happy to see a Cougar made it to Motor Trend. I always assumed you guys were not FoMoCo guys. (I know the Stubby in Episode 44 was a Ford, but still)
as of now. I'm 12 minutes into this video. Iv been watching it for 2 hours. the beauty of straight talks "unlimited" data.
Steve Dulcich drives like a demon out of hell. its a compliment
One of my favorites. Steve's test drive at the end is epic.
"Are you volunteering me right now?"
Everytime I ask that, I get the response, "No, You're being volun-told."
MT killed Roadkill..you guys were on the way to having one of the more successful channels on You Tube and then you sold out.
The cougar is not ugly!! I love the look!
I dont want on demand thingy, doesnt youtube ads pay enough???
Lol no. TH-cam subsidised the cost of the show to keep it on TH-cam for years as well as the dodge sponsorship.
All that went and they had to do something to keep it going.
How surprised were you guys about the Cleveland power? Curious what Chevy/Mopar guys first experience driving one was.
Steve is perfect, calm and dry humor, but knows his stuff without making sure you know it
We called that rebuild a Dirt Motor rebuild. Did dozens of them with very little problems.
Cougar question: 1967? 8" rear end or has a 9" been installed?
+David Freiburger Is that using the same tape measure you used to measure the old clutch before buying the new one?
+jcurtis858 lol
In the spirit of Roadkill Freiburger needs to search Craigslist for a Ford Granada/Mercury Monarch for a "modern" spindle disc brake set up. Find a 9" Ford rear end. Was surprised the 8" didn't explode doing burnouts and power shifts. Get some traction and dump the clutch and the 8" will explode like glass.
+David Freiburger lol
+Daniel Scott I have 68 cougar and didn't look at the rear end that hard and it has a 8 inch and you are completely correct on the breaking like glass
Thanks for rebuilding a Cleveland. My D1AE is coming out of the Pantera soon (I'm not going to rebuild it myself) but I will be able to take it apart and make a big mess!
Dulcich left the tag hanging under the arm of that new Dickies jacket 😉
Is the content on MotorTrendondemand gonna cost less for other country's such as New Zealand ??
lol. Im wondering too.
Yea
+Malachi Harris-Bourne Don't even bother, it doesn't seem to work outside the US. At least here in Brazil the service don't work.
This is my question too, apparently some of it works and they said they'd sort it out and allow reduced monthly fee,but so far silence. I'll sign up once they sort that
Same
if you've never seen the inside of an engine, this is actually quite educational.
Why does Dulcich still have the tag on he's coat? 2:29
so he can take it back and say Walmart this coat has holes and it's dirty lol
Ben Brown. Dulcich...thats why
His*
"Roadkill is still free on TH-cam"
Mmmm.
This feels so much like some of the junk me and my buddies used to get into! ...and some of the junk I still have in the driveway. Ha. Great show! I love that you're not in some spotless, million dollar garage stocked with half a million dollars worth of tools.
@motortrend will engine masters still be free?
+David Freiburger yay
+David Freiburger you wanna let me give you money if I live outside the US? Cheers
+YaBoiScoots didn't David specifically say in this vid that roadkill garage will only be on demand?
+David Freiburger David have the wrinkles been sorted for those of us down under ? I was one that signed up months ago only to find zero worthwhile content for outside the US. Long time subscriber and supporter of the show but I was royally pissed with the "to soon" roll out of MTOD especially as no disclosure was made for the lack of content outside the US.
engine masters is a paid commercial as it is. if they try charging you to watch their ads they can go die in a house fire.
pity this wont be on youtube...
I like it! You did exactly what the average Joe would do in his garage, exactly what we want to see.
Hey, just like when I was in HS. Every project must be done by Monday morning.
Dulcich drives like a G
I laughed so hard through this episode!! Their back and forth banter and just all the fails like the flywheel diameter and then trying to start it by towing and the fire!! OMG I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard! EPIC!!!
I guess I'd actually subscribe to MOD, but, y'know, outside the US...
+fredmachine ikr
+fredmachine Fri said they might be able to get a cheaper rate for people outside the US because they get less stuff, i'm signing up as soon as that is put in place...
+fredmachine Im outside the us and it works fine all you miss out on is some of the nascar stuff. Its about £3.75 a month so Im not complaining. I only want to watch roadkill anyway. If you want to watch the blocked content just use a USA proxy server.
weirdstuffanimation7 Yeah, and I guess 7€ for Roadkill and Roadkill Garage is something I could spare... If they accepted Paypal. Not going to get a credit card just for this.
fredmachine Its €4.55 not 7, Why should they accept pay pal just because you are too childish to get a bank card.
I found a complete butter knife inside a tire once.
I found a box cutter in my runflat tire
Never seen Dulcich so happy as when he's hard shifting burnouts!
it took a month.. so why didnt you guys fix the cam bearing while you were busy fixing things
I love Steve, he goes full throttle and has an epic given her the berries face! :)
The dog knew something you guys didn`t! Lol!
Truly enjoyed the pilot but there's a reason that TH-cam has become the worldwide phenomenon that it has. It's the free content. Wishing all involved the very best of luck but with already paying for Netflix and HBO subscriptions I'll pass on the MTOD paid content.
It being free though means without sponsors there's barely a margin to pay all those involved
LD ODOM You're not missing anything.
Finnegan is cool no doubt but watching these 2 is like watching a couple old friends build a car, the chemistry is better.
rompn4x yeah I read somewhere freiburger and finnegan don't really like each other. pretty obvious to tell.
jordan adkins I think it's just the age gap at certain times. I don't think they don't like each other anything.
Finnegan and Tony are a pretty good duo
Imacar yay yeah they're probably the best actually. the more I watched roadkill garage the more I realized how horrible dulcich is on camera and how much of a jerk freiburger is.
Yeah, ....that's about right. .....Best engine overhaul video I've ever seen.
If you say David Freiburger's name 3 times at midnight, he'll appear and set your initial timing 180 degrees out.
So regular Roadkill will continue to be free on TH-cam? I really hope so,don't sell out guys
+Bob Falfa Correct. The next episode of Roadkill airs for free on TH-cam March 25.
+Motor Trend Channel cool thanks,MORE MUSCLE TRUCK!!!
+Motor Trend Channel every 4th friday
i watch mostly for the comedic value. That Dulcich and Freiburger comedy is priceless.
To those wondering if RK Garage is worth the five-spot....yeah, totally.
