    Good to see you still uploading videos Andy! (I quit Facebook for a while now so I can’t see the Carryology group anymore). They’ve updated the newer models with the soft lining but looks like the xpac kept the original interior design doesn’t it? I have the TP2 and I don’t mind the original lining as it might not wear out as much with continued use
    Also, are you planning on switching over to the XPAC version now or continue to switch between the two?

    • @AndyModellBackpacks
      @AndyModellBackpacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They updated the work collection with the new lining, but the travel line hasn’t changed yet. Idk when I’ll be traveling with luggage again, but I’ll likely use the x-pac one over the original. I do prefer the orange and black look.

    This is a top-grade video review. You're reviewing all of the aspects of the bag I want to know without the fluff. My only constructive criticism is flow would be much better with some cuts - both to reduce time and to get different angles + close-ups. Subbed. Can't wait to see future reviews.

    Nice review Andy! I'm wondering is it too small for daily use. But after watching to the end of ur video, I found it's not quite small. So, I think it can fit in a lunch box into the bag?

    • @AndyModellBackpacks
      @AndyModellBackpacks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on the size of your lunch box. You could likely fit something the depth of an Apple, but the main pockets aren’t too deep in general

    Great video and thanks for all the videos you post about. How has the X-PAC held up over time and do you find the Cordura version to provide any benefits, such as a slight amount of stretch due to the woven nature? I am debating a Brown Buffalo Conceal 21 in vx24 and 1050d and am curious about (1) durability; (2) the added stretch/conforming to an overpacked bag; and (3) professional look.

    • @AndyModellBackpacks
      @AndyModellBackpacks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been using Aer City Slings in Xpac daily, and I’ve encountered no problem over the past year or so. Some xpac weaves have courdura exterior, such as vx50. In general, I think they’re both very strong and durable materials.

  • @mooboo6603
    @mooboo6603 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Hey dude I have a suggestion. One of the biggest purchasing parameters is durability. One of the biggest durability parameters is stitching. Particularly, are there loops, frayed ends, missed sections, etc etc.
    No one I have seen really takes a close look at the stitching all along and makes a proper appraisal. I have done so on my Goruck and Aer products and believe me, THAT is where you see the REAL indicator of quality. The Aer was great but did have some imperfections - one of the stitches on the back, right side, had gone awol at the end, stitched itself under a separate section that it wasnt supposed to (I could tell by comparing the left side). I am sure that it will fray and cause the bag to fail in time. Also on the main zips on the X Pac, twist the fabric and look at the seam where the zip meets the bag, I found some fraying under there as well.
    If you look into that you'll be the only channel on youtube that can actually tell us something real about the quality and durability of the bags, not just a generick "this is built to last blab blah"

    • @aoutsky
      @aoutsky 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great suggestion. Stitching Is analyzed heavily in the luxury purse community. Even in clothing, the hallmark of a quality piece is well finished stitches. Would you recommend the Goruck over the Aer?

    • @mooboo6603

      @@aoutsky Yeah I would recommend the Goruck overall

  • @ENB90
    @ENB90 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A benefit of the X-Pac versions are they're slightly more water proof as well so the TP for example wouldn't need a rain cover vs the standard version.

    • @AndyModellBackpacks
      @AndyModellBackpacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good insight! I never found rain to be that much of a problem with the ballistic, but the additional water resistance always helps.

    • @syedabdulhalim23
      @syedabdulhalim23 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Another benefit is the weight. X-Pac is way way lighter than the normal Aer. I tested it. I filled up both bags (I own both versions of TP 2) with the same items/weight and the X-Pac definitely felt way lighter. I recommend getting the Rain Cover (for TP/TP 2) so your bag lasts longer when exposed to the elements.

      I ended up selling the xpac to a friend who seemed to want it more than I did. I tend to use both xpac and cordura bags in general. If the bag has a higher chance of getting dirty, then I like to use cordura, if it’s just for the office, then xpac is nice.

      @@AndyModellBackpacks weird distinction. Why is it that you use cordura for times when it could get dirty? I would think the opposite would be true as the cordura seems like it would fit into an office better

    • @AndyModellBackpacks
      @AndyModellBackpacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Just tested, and the Camelbak does sometimes fall out if filled with water. You can probably use a carabiner to secure it to one of the front pocket zipper pull tabs if you want to keep you bottles extra secure.

    • @AndyModellBackpacks
      @AndyModellBackpacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This one is definitely more intended to be a companion to a suitcase or edc bag, though if you pack minimally, you can use it for travel. Take a look at this video I did: Minimal one-bag backpack comparison Goruck Gr1, Tom Bihn Synik 22, Recycled Firefighter 24HR, CPL24. Many of these bags are similar in size, and they’d work better for one bag travel than the flight pack 2
