      Spartacus32145 Don't be deceived by the academia. Harvard and Columbia are corporate academes of the imperialists who control your mind and body by false intellectualism. If my criterion for the truth is masteral and doctoral degrees of somebody, I must be the most stupid idiot in the world. Start digging until you can proved that the academia are the seats of imposed ignorance.

      Gali Dodoy Villanueva if your criterion for the truth is the lack of masteral and doctoral degrees than you might as well be the most stupid idiot in the world. While I would agree with you that higher education is in some ways intertwined with systems of power and influence, it is also the largest arena of criticism against things like corporate and government elites. Essentially, a degree shouldn't reflect being right. Rather, when it comes to the humanities, it reflects having relevant skills and outlooks that are crucial to understanding the fields in which you learn. You can't expect everyone to learn biblical greek, talk to archaelogists, or read every word on Jesus. The most reliable setting that introduces new ideas, while checking old knowledge is still academia. If you can think of a better setting, or come up with a better methodology that replaces a college, social science education then I'm all ears.

    • @utubecomment21
      @utubecomment21 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Spartacus32145A degree is only a function of the individual University itself. Anyone who has taken a degree must acknowledge that even though there is a claim to uniformity across the board as regards to state standards, what an individual Universities actually teaches/profess's is hugely different! So when Reza talks about his 4 degree's, I take it with a pinch of salt!

If you know anything about the subject matter you are aware of this but his audience knows nothing about the subject matter or they have a hatred of Christianity. In any case. The historical knowledge that Reza has must be incredibly intimidating for many Christians as most base their faith primarily on emotion.
    I know for me when I started to learn more about my false faith it was like I was married for 50 years and realised the person I was married to (and madly in love with) was not the person that I thought they were.
    At first It is a heart breaking reality, but you get over it and in the end you are truly free.

    Such a riveting discourse by one of the most enlightened and engaging historians in the world today. I’m a big fan of Reza Aslan and I cherish the opportunity to attend one of his seminars someday. He not only commands respect but he earns it for his scrupulous and superlative deconstruction of religious methodology. This is a man who does not insult people’s intelligence but rather compels them to pursue truth and reason. He brings his unique brand of intellectual sophistication to any topic he chooses to scrutinize. I never tire of hearing him speak. Respect, Mr. Aslan.

    This is a most wonderful lecture about religion - the fact, the myth, the importance. While some of you may not have much interest, to those that do, this will be a well spent couple of hours. Reza Aslan has other presentations (I allude to his specific address regarding fundamentalism - in another video, where most modern forms of religion are most similar to idolatry and not spirituality). For all my years of relentlessly studying my faith and religion - he seems to sum it up the best. Now, that I no longer need to say what has already been said so eloquently and succinctly by this person, I can go back to the universal language of music. Sharing a truth, that has always been inexpressible by words. Enjoy !!!

      The relation of Christianity and Judaism is very similar to the relation of Sunnism / Shiism religions and Islam in many ways. They sprouted from an older version of the religion, and ended up far far away. They are also vastly more popular than their roots. Look how many people practice Judaism in the world, 14 million. Christianity, 2.2 billion. Look how many people practice Islam, a few thousands at best. Sunnism+Shiism, and their sects reach up to 1.6 billion. One has to give credit to Christians who never claim they are practicing Judaisim, because they are aware of the fact that it's a completely different religion. Sunni and Shi'ia actually believe they are practicing Islam whereas their religions completely ignore Quran's messages by piggybacking man made hadith and sunnah of their choice. May the peace be with you! (Jedi-ism)

    A lot of people blame the religion for the countless murders that took place in our history. Instead of blaming the religion why not blame the root cause? The people manipulating the teachings for their own gain. The religions around the world constantly evolve to adapt to the progress of our civilizations. Ultimately, in my opinion the people are the root cause of these murders and hate crimes. Just as all religions can be practiced in a peaceful way, it can also be practiced in a hateful manner towards one another claiming it's just. I am a christian and just watched a muslim man express his thoughts and all it made me do is reinforce my faith and I wanted to learn more so I can expand my faith and knowledge. Take the time to learn from one another so we can grow in our faiths. Just because someone is of a different faith it doesn't mean you shut them out. It allows you to see things from a different perspective and perhaps allows you to ask the right questions to lead you where you need to be. Stop wasting time spreading hate and trying to keep count of who's killed how many people and spend more time enlightening yourself. I know people of many religions and they respect my faith as I respect theirs, that is the only way we grow as a community. Prime example is his reference to the well.

    • @totallymulatto

      Very well put! It's surprising how many people on TH-cam spout hate and anger at really almost anything. You could watch a video about kittens on here, and if you look down at the comments it always turns into some hate fest! It's sad and sickening, but I will say you're comment was very refreshing to read. Thanks :)

    • @SmartRCoupe
      @SmartRCoupe 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      totallymulatto Actually there are more people who can do critical thinking than we see in TH-cam comments. It's just that it's a waste of time to respond the ignorant and arrogant. Not because it's not worth it, it's because it's their choice to stay that way, and our references of argument will be very different. Peace upon everyone who are sincerely looking for the truth in their own way.

    • @totallymulatto
      @totallymulatto 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand what you're saying SmartRCoupe but there's a difference between ignorance and stupidity. Stupidity means someone who can't comprehend information, ignorance means someone who just simply doesn't know. You can change an ignorant person by educating them. I know this can be accomplished because I've done it before.

    • @Louis-zp8bt
      @Louis-zp8bt 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      As an atheist, I would agree with your comment in almost every single aspect, except the part where you say that those who are malicious and maniacal will manipulate religion for their own gain. As critical thinkers of religion, we should be quite frank and honest about what religion actually is. It can be whatever you want-- a religion is not peaceful nor is it evil. With that said, lets just say that those who choose to attach religion to their evil acts don't do it in order to consciously deceive and lie about where their actions come from; they just attach religion to it because they can find connection with it. A slave owner can connect to Christianity just as an abolitionist can.
      Other than that point, I really enjoyed your point that we should all just respect each other's perspectives and that the death toll is irrelevant to conversations like these.

The only difference between him and those he mentioned is, he hides behind his intellect. Be watchful of people in sheep's clothing. historical fact of Resurrection????!!!........actually in the bible, when people asked for jesus for sign for his "miracle", he said my miracle was the miracle of Jonah.....jonah was swallowed for 3 days and 3 nights....and he STAYED alive the whole time......jesus compared his miracle to to Jonah's.....it can't be the period cause again according to the bible jesus was "killed" Friday afternoon and rose on sunday morning....that's a day and half...therefore he meant about the actual not dying part...cause if someone falls into the water and get swallowed by a big whale, we all would think he is dead, but that is why it's a miracle cause he wasn't dead in the first place....same happened for jesus, he was nailed on the cross and left there and any person would think he must be dead....but he wasn't....i'm talking from biblical prospective.....regardless whether i believe in it or not.....Riza Aslan kept it within logical understanding of jesus from a historical prospective.

    At Goldstein's funeral, Rabbi Yaacov Perrin claimed that even one million Arabs are "not worth a Jewish fingernail".[24][25][26] Samuel Hacohen, a teacher at a Jerusalem college, declared Goldstein the "greatest Jew alive, not in one way but in every way" and said that he was "the only one who could do it, the only one who was 100 percent perfect."[25][26] In contrast, mainstream Jewish religious leaders "rejected the suggestion that killing Palestinians with an automatic rifle" was authorized by the Torah.[24] Rabbi Dov Lior of Kiryat Arba declared that Goldstein was "holier than all the martyrs of the Holocaust."[27]

      Haik Biglari There was a huge messianic movement in Palestine in the beginning of the 1st century, people claiming to be the messiah, some better known and with a larger following than Jesus. When a messiah was executed, his followers packed up and went home. The difference in Jesus' situation is that his followers didn't for some reason. I'm agnostic and I still wonder about that.Although Jesus was not successful, just as the others, in fulfilling the Jewish prophecy of what the messiah was supposed to accomplish,his followers still continued. They had to change the definition of messiah.

    So I’ve research countlessly Reza on church interviews, speeches, his Family, marriage, etc…I’ll read zealot when I see it at Good Will Store.
    Reza is a pantheism who is stirring up to people to confusion. He reminds me of Pope where he is accepting all universal faith is good in Jesus eyes. (This is happening all over nations too).
    Matthew 6:25…Jesus mention you can’t have 2 masters.
    He does have lots of valid points on historic facts and very elegant speakers….gotta give credit. However….
    Why did Jesus brought up that famous verse…which you all know …
    John 3:16 and…
    John 14:6.
    He reminds me of someone who want to please everybody and it’s about feel good doctrine and that’s why he was on the top of the book lists.
    Many want to hear only the good part about God but not God’s wrath. Jesus talks more about hell more than heaven cause He doesn’t want people to go there. Free will given, choices…
    Reza doesn’t understand who God is, His power, God’s Holy Spirit (HS), HS given to believers, HS spoken to 12 Disciples, & All idols mention in the OT relate to different religions, which is so connected and that’s why Jesus said he’s the only way. He’s missing out this crucial part during his speech….Wow! Even His wife is Christian and Reza is now Idk what to think of what religion? They’re even promoting mix marriage on different religions….
    2 Corinthians 6:14….Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.
    Matthew 6:24…. 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
    Matthew 7:15…. Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. This false gospels!
    If you research Charlie Kirk deep root he’s totally the opposite.
    God ordains president (1 Samuel 8/Roman 13:1) and he use president to fulfill his prophesy to accomplish. We Christians don’t focus their sin part as we all are but God has purpose for their leaders around the nations to bring prophesy….
    This is my take on Reza…Like I mention Bible is my fact news…not Reza…Thsts why I encourage you to listen to pastors like John MacArthur, John Barnett, Paul Washer, not prosperity Pastor’s….who will blind us…Gathering is so important …Hebrew 10:25…so we will not fall away and we can be accountable to each other what the Scripturess says…🙂🙏🏼 🙏🏼🙏🏼

    Historians ignore the teachings attributed to Jesus because there is no way to know whether he actually delivered them. But I say unto you- it is the teachings that matter, not the historical times. And the same holds true for all spiritual teachings and philosophy. Whether the teachings were delivered by Bob Smith or Zeus is secondary, it is the teachings themselves and what they mean to us that matters!

    Reza Aslan has clear agenda here, but having that agenda , he became famous like any other person (scholar or non scholar) by putting forward a controversial conclusion. It is easy to become famous and at the same time not to fear of his/her own life is, bashing against any religion other than Islam. He won't dare to say that against Mohammed. He knew that, he have to exile, rest of his life. He just simplify Jesus like any other political revolutionist. All Muslims argue Jesus has some unusual power or not an ordinary person (prophet) and then go on to say that he has no divinity which is against basic Christians belief.

    I am a muslim,and I want to clarify some thing for christians. What Reza concluded in his book does not fit with Islamic view or Islamic theology,so stop calling him as a bias! Islam does not say Jesus was killed by Roman nor jews . Rather God protected him and sent him to heaven. Moreover, Islam says Jesus was born miraculously. Therefore, Christians should deal with facts that Reza concluded, which are Jesus was a Jewish, so when Jesus said Son of God what did he really mean for a jewish community ?and Paul has never seen him,nor did he walk with Jesus! Deal with these facts and face the truth that your religion was established by Paul not Jesus.

    I just read the book. Everyone should read it. You can then do your own research as to why you agree or disagree with his conclusions. He speaks like a feminist yet hardly mentions the role of women, particularly the Magdalene, in this book. The Magdalene is in all four gospels, as is the "woman" who pours perfume on Jesus' feet. I think he was afraid of the "Jesus marriage" issue, especially if it was with the Magdalene.

    • @seeingjustseeing
      @seeingjustseeing 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      He was afraid of the "Jesus marriage" issue but unafraid of the "Jesus is a backwater, illiterate hick" issue which he says repeatedly? Though I will agree that Aslan did not mention Magdalene and that is odd. But then again, I didn't even think about her until you said something about it. But what I was waiting for was someone to ask about Jesus reading the Scripture in the Temple at age 12 and challenging the other priests.

    • @hmongcha1237
      @hmongcha1237 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aslan sort of covered that part when he said that the entire Nativity thing never happened. One reason why it didn't happen was that if it was that important, then why was it omitted in both Mark and John. Jesus only read the scriptures in one gospel. Usually if it only happens in one or two gospels, you can say they were made up. Heck Jesus damns a fig tree forever for not bearing fruit in two gospels. This means that any mention of his childhood, if it wasn't in all four gospels, probably means it wasn't true either.

    • @MicahMicahel
      @MicahMicahel 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's really easy to discover how I disagree because he lies constantly. His viewpoint only exists on lies. It's easy to locate where all of the mistakes are because they are brazen lies and warping of the facts. The trouble is that he has a big platform because he's famous. I think after he ate the human brains with the cannibal most people realized he was a moral idiot and we really shouldn't get this type of talk from a moral idiot. It should be obvious that he lies even if you know nothing about Christianity.

    wait okay so this isn't an attack, I'm finding this talk really interesting.. But Reza stated that he is removing the Historical Jesus from the Spiritual Jesus, including what it written in the gospels... And then he goes on to talk about Jesus' teachings that were written in the gospels to support his argument. It kinda seems like he's picking and choosing what to believe happened here? If we don't know that the gospels are true for sure or historically accurate, then why is he using their content to argue. Why can't a christian shoot down his arguments about Jesus not being the true Messiah by telling him that he still lives and his business is not yet done? It seems like a little bit of a flaw to me, but maybe I'm just nitpicking

    • @g7058190
      @g7058190 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What I got from this talk was that Reza has taken those stories from the Gospels, those things it teaches us about what Jesus said and did in his time and reviews them through the scope of the time that he lived.
      As he said we know very little about the Historical Jesus if you remove all the religious texts, but if you take what little you know, put that to the background of the time in which he lived (which we do know) and carefully apply the stories of the Gospel to it in context then you can begin to see the shape of a man very different to that of a Spiritual Jesus. I can see how it could be seen as "picking and choosing" but he does it in the context of a historical background, using what we do know to interpret what we have.
      I think the point that resonated most in this talk was that idea that how we perceive the world now, how we think about right and wrong, truth and falsehood is incredibly far removed from the way someone in the first century thought about those things.

    • @totallymulatto
      @totallymulatto 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He mentioned that if you remove the historical Jesus from the spiritual Jesus. Knowing the three main facts about him, then placing him in the world of which he lived in at that time (which there are numerous known facts about), that you can then piece together the true meaning of his teachings. He goes deeper into the bible itself due to the questions being asked towards the end of his lecture, but he's using the facts about the times, and the facts about the man Jesus to then support/or decode certain details/or books of the bible. Like when he went on to talking about the book of Paul for example.

  • @josephgomalo41

    Aslan caught in a lie at (47:37) when he claims people who wrote the Gospel never met Jesus personally..! John the Apostle was the son of Zebedee and the younger brother of James, son of Zebedee (Saint James the Greater). According to Church tradition, their mother was Salome. Zebedee and his sons fished in the Sea of Galilee. The brothers were firstly disciples of John the Baptist. Jesus then called Saint Peter, Saint Andrew and these two sons of Zebedee to follow him. James and John are listed among the Twelve Apostles. Jesus referred to the pair as "Boanerges" (translated "sons of thunder"); although their nature was calm and gentle, when their patience was pushed to its limits their anger became wild and thunderous causing them to speak out like an untamed storm. Peter, James and John were the only witnesses of the raising of Daughter of Jairus. All three also witnessed the Transfiguration, and these same three witnessed the Agony in Gethsemane more closely than the other Apostles did.
    Jesus sent only JOHN and Peter into the city to make the preparation for the final Passover meal (the Last Supper). {Luke 22:8 English Standard Version (ESV)
    8 So Jesus[a] sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it.”}
    On the cross before his death; (John 19-27).. but standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.
    The disciple whom Jesus loved is referred to, specifically, six times in John's gospel:
    It is this disciple who, while reclining beside Jesus at the Last Supper, asks Jesus, after being requested by Peter to do so, who it is that will betray him.[Jn 13:23-25]
    Later at the crucifixion, Jesus tells his mother, "Woman, here is your son", and to the Beloved Disciple he says, "Here is your mother."[Jn 19:26-27]
    When Mary Magdalene discovers the empty tomb, she runs to tell the Beloved Disciple and Peter. The two men rush to the empty tomb and the Beloved Disciple is the first to reach the empty tomb. However, Peter is the first to enter.[Jn 20:1-10]
    In John 21, the last chapter of the Gospel of John, the Beloved Disciple is one of seven fishermen involved in the miraculous catch of 153 fish.[Jn 21:1-25] [38]
    Also in the book's final chapter, after Jesus hints to Peter how Peter will die, Peter sees the Beloved Disciple following them and asks, "What about him?" Jesus answers, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!"[John 21:20-23]
    Again in the gospel's last chapter, it states that the very book itself is based on the written testimony of the disciple whom Jesus loved.[John 21:24]
    According to Church tradition, after the Assumption of Mary, John went to Ephesus. From there he wrote the three epistles attributed to him. John was allegedly banished by the Roman authorities to the Greek island of Patmos, where, according to tradition, he wrote the Book of Revelation. According to Tertullian (in The Prescription of Heretics) John was banished (presumably to Patmos) after being plunged into boiling oil in Rome and suffering nothing from it. It is said that all in the audience of Colosseum were converted to Christianity upon witnessing this miracle. This event would have occurred in the late 1st century, during the reign of the Emperor Domitian, who was known for his persecution of Christians.

While the Bible's scripts are preserved. Question is did Reza visit preserved Christian texts in Rome? He has to declare that.. openly or honestly. Which is the very reason he cant try and revisit islamic texts if there are any.. coz he fears for his life to do as islam cant be revised.. the fact that there are no source texts as everything was burnt.. as orators were killed on Yamama day! How could Reza visit legit texts with an already established mentality and the whole attitude that the Bible has been changed?? What if you/him visited the original texts in Vatican and discovered that all you see in the Bible is what apostles wrote during Jesus's time; which is not even close to when quran was written after muhammad's death? Timothy Chambers But if you understood the Holy Scriptures at all... you would see that none of the disciples or anybody else came to any real understanding of the Truth - till after Messiah laid down His Life and Took it Back Up Again. This was no mystery to Messiah or His disciples - just to christians and such that do not know what this is talking about:
      Luk 22:31

      And the Messiah said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
      Luk 22:32

      But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
      Kepha/Simon was not converted when Messiah was on the earth - and there are several places where Messiah spoke about how one must convert. These were lessons that could not be learned until Holy Spirit/Comforter was sent back, then the Holy Spirit guided all who were interested into conversion. None but Messiah Himself had the Holy Spirit permanently in Him... though some had Holy Spirit come and go, here and there to guide them to do things - like the High Priest declaring Messiah must die.

    He's right in saying people have created their own versions of Jesus, but if you read the Bible for yourself you find that there is only one real Jesus. The problem comes when you look to denominations or other religions without reading the Bible. The answers are in the Bible open it up. Pray He will answer if you seek Him with all your heart. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" Matthew 7:7-8. Ask Him into your heart and He will guide you. He longs to bring each one of us home. God Bless. Ian McCormack testimony

    His views would of and could of, prevented a lot of wars. To many people look at Jesus as though he carries a bazooka, and rides a black hawk. I think everyone should still read the bible, for guidance and self being. But remember we live in a different age, so you may have to tweak it a bit.

    Aslanian religion is well suited for those Muslims who want to reconcile the teachings of Qur'an which says Jesus was not crucified and the over whelming evidence they see in the West about the crucifixion of Jesus. The only problem with this is that he needs to come up with a new version of Qur'an! Is he up to the task of doing so? Good luck Reza, zireh Qur'aneh Jadidet bacheh Beza

      +Arkitrol no hes not, even he believe Jesus was being uplifted unto Heaven, and his place was taken by Judah (probably the Romans were 'make' to saw him as Jesus while that person was Judah who betrayed him). This was a holy intervention, or miracle.
      Yes, of-course the history point out that he was crucified, you can't actually wrote miracles as a fact in history writing yeah. It must be logically analogue with the situation.
      but personally, you can believe what you want to believe. Thats your thing.

    This guy is not completely correct. Its a historical fact that Jews settled down in Kerala, southern India 1800 years ago. They controlled the spice trade to rest of the world. So it is possible that St. Thomas came there.

    As a muslim he completely contradicts himself by stating that the Roman's were VERY GOOD at documenting things such as historical events and the Census.
    The koran states that jesus did NOT get crucified......

      @Cathal Ó Braonáin On so many levels, yes lol. I looked into his credentials and he has only received a graduate degree in Sociology. A truly gifted speaker but a wolf in sheep's clothing, no less. Great at confusing the flock on his perspective of Jesus. Its laughable. The acadamia does not take this man seriously. Dr.Gary Habermas would obliterate him with facts in under 2 minutes on the the true historical perspective of Jesus and the validity of Paul's letters to the Roman's, Corinthians, Galatians and 1Thessolonians. Even secular/agnostic scholars are embarrassed by this man's "historical perspective".

      @Cathal Ó Braonáin I stand corrected, a PhD in Sociology. Thank you Cathal.
      I'd be curious what your thoughts are on Dr. Habermas and his research on Jesus and the resurrection:

      @Cathal Ó Braonáin I'm not entirely sure what your position is, are you a muslim or agnostic? If Reza is stating he is a muslim than you have to understand that he believes that the Koran is perfect and is the actual word of God given to Mohammed by the angel Gabriel. Logically, we can deduce that this is now highly unlikely since the koran states that Jesus was not crucified and that it was someone else who God replaced. We know that this is not true sincr we Greek, Roman, Jewish and even secular historians confirming that Jesus was in fact crucified and died under the Roman prefect, Pontius Pilate.
      Thanks for sharing Reza's credentials, I stand corrected! Watch Habermas video I sent you! It's good = ) let me know what you think.

    It seems to me that "the truth" of Mr. Aslan is "the lie" of anybody else. He has to paint it blue or red, or somehow...for us to understand the difference between a scientific truth and a religious "truth". He might believe in some god that is not at all appealing for the scientists!

    Reza says Jesus was a Jew teaching Judaism. Islam in the other hand, shares a similar history with Christianity/Judaism such as the prophets.. Abraham (Ibrahim), Moses (Musa), angel Gabrial (Jibrail). Reza also says the prophet Muhammad didn't start Islam, Islam was already there before him. Could it mean that Prophet Muhammad was also preaching about Judaism but was later misinterpreted as a new religion called Islam by his diciples once the prophet died?

      No. Prophet Muhammad did not start Islam, he sealed it. Islam began since Prophet Adam

      Mr.NonCentsTV adam wasn't a prophet, in fact, no where in the Quran it described him as a prophet, a prophet is someone who have miracles and preach a message, but adam of course wasn't the first homo sepian on earth, existed at a time where there was no civilization earth in order to preach, heck language didn't exist at his time....ibrahim was the first prophet, in fact he literally is the one who came up with the word "muslim" of course as the Quran stated.

    • @netwiz2
      @netwiz2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      according to the Quran, a muslim is someone who surrender to allah, and all prophets from ibrahim to mohammad, said the word "we surrender to allah", jesus said he was a muslim but not as the word muslim muslim as u hear it, but of course it's counter meaning in syrianic, same for moses in herbew...etc also the Quran state that every age have a book, every age have different culture and different thinking and different problem and thus every book came with solutions to these problems, when god send a book to a new age, this new book may contain same solutions as the one mentioned before since the same problem still exist and resurface, it may lack other laws (since they are no longer needed because the problem no longer exist), and some laws were made easier on people....quran is simply is the final message..and since it is the last book, therefore it is a book that work at the time of mohammad and will work till the day of judgement.

      I agree with everything except for what you said about Prophethood beginning with Ibrahim. The reason I don't agree with this is because where does it place Prophet Nuh (Noah) who came before Prophet Ibrahim. And I think the best way to define a Prophet, is a human who has receives communication with God and spreads Allah's message. It is clear that Allah spoke with Prophet Adam, and to say that Adam didn't communicate with his children the meaning of life is just preposterous. Additionally, when Adam was put to earth after being sent down from the Garden, he prayed to God for forgiveness. There is no other way to pray other than through language.

    Although religions are man made and believing in supernatural Gods and so called 'holy book' miracles claims are rather silly, it helps uneducated folks believe in a heavenly reward, and a nice little earner for preachers.
