    Glad you replied to the critical comment, I had just gone in to do the same. Why people feel the need to say these ridiculous things. Right up there with all Podcasters being neurotic about the sound of paper. Seriously?
    And I'll stop being a nudge about this (I'm old, we do these things).

    Hello, it's my first time watching your podcast, love your projects. Please don't rip out your beautiful cardigan. Just embrace the measurement and knit yourself another cardigan in the right size. I had a sweater once it was to big. A sweet lady bought it from me. She is very happy with it. It suits her beautifully. Best regards Simone (I am from the Netherlands).

    Your Fall Ranunculus is perfection👌🏼! Can’t wait to see your colours for the winter one. I am a BIG fan of Susan B Anderson’s toy patterns! Dusty Bunny is so sweet and the sweater too. The hairless cat made me LOL.. i have never met one in person. I have met several Chihuahuas in person and they weren’t very nice to me for some reason. They probably know I’m a cat person. Zombie shows are pretty cool. Fun story I got to knit up a piece of knitting for a segment in the zombie show Black Summer… not sure if they included it or not. 🧟‍♀️

    I love starting my Saturdays with your videos! Haha THANK YOU for saying that the original image on the Ranunculus pattern is not great, I thought I was the only one! You have said it very gently, but I think this is the most unflattering image in the knitting world and that's probably one of the reasons why I've never knitted this garment 😂 The model always reminds me of a little girl who dressed up in her father's clothes. Yours looks beautiful though, especially in this yarn!!! 😍 So sorry about your cardigan! I think all of us tend to make some silly mistakes every now and then , but I'm sure the next version will be perfect. Nikki... oh I feel for you!! I just ripped out the whole body of the Goldfern, all the colorwork, 2 color bind-off.... because my swatch was 23st/4inches so, knitted the size 3 - but the final gauge in the middle of the body was 26st/inch... so only 34 inches across ... needing to fit 36 in bust + EASE... so all nighter pulling it out, re-rolling balls (untwining all colorwork) and re-cast on- with one size larger size and one size larger needles... its a gift so I have to reknit it NOW (I would just love to throw in in the bottom of the closet... but) ugh... I will knit to the 3rd yoke increase and re-measure gauge... ugh!

    I’m so sorry about your cardigan but it’s the sort of thing I would of done too !
    I also wanted to warn you about Holst shrinking. I had a sleeve shrink by an inch in length but it’s such a great yarn.
    The Riddari I’m working on for my husband but would totally love one myself after 😁

    • @KnittingWithCatHair
      @KnittingWithCatHair  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Ann 🥰 And thanks for the tip about the Holst Garn. Someone else just mentioned shrinkage as well so I'm definitely going to wash and block my finished back piece to see if it ends up too short. The Riddari is a lovely pattern and you should absolutely make one for yourself as well 🤗💕

    Perhaps you have discussed this in an earlier episode, but have you measured your row gauge in Holst before and after washing? It always shrinks quite a bit length wise for me in the blocking. So if you haven't measured it and are just knitting to the length instructed in the pattern, you might end up with a sweater that's quite a bit shorter than anticipated.

    • @KnittingWithCatHair
      @KnittingWithCatHair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lize. I haven't measured before and after washing/blocking so thank-you so much for the tip! Now I will definitely wash and block my finished back piece and see what happens to it. I find it's so hard with cables and lace to get a good gauge. In this instance, Marie has you measure your reverse stockinette gauge which in my mind won't change as much as the lace will after blocking. I'll see what my back piece does and If I have to I can rip back the shaping and add more length so thanks SO MUCH for the tip! Happy Making 🤗💕

    • @edinacole6382
      @edinacole6382 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heard that too but I washed my swatch and it didn’t change size at all. So I nervously knit my sweater and washed it. No change in size

    • @lizehhh
      @lizehhh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@edinacole6382 Interesting! Maybe it has to do with the way one knits? I've made several sweaters in Holst SS. My swatches always seem to change a bit. I then account for it, only to have the project still turn out shorter than I anticipated haha. Every time I think: this time I will get it right - and I never do. I still absolutely love the yarn though.

    • @edinacole6382
      @edinacole6382 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lizehhh hmmm, that's possible. I use square knitting needles (cube) and my tension is the same for knitting as is for purls. The needles I use also provide a smoother texture, not as smooth and even as after blocking but better than when I use traditional needles

    • @KnittingWithCatHair
      @KnittingWithCatHair  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Darlene 😊 Unfortunately because the Treysta is 40" vs. my 45" bust circumference, I'd have to add in a buttonband that is wider than 5" to make it fit, and I think it would look pretty silly 😂 It's all good as I may have found a good home for the Treysta after all. Happy Making 🤗💕

    Your Ranunculus is lovely and in a gorgeous color. Much nicer than the others I’ve seen however the pattern still does no float my boat. I don’t get the hype. There are tons of top down patterns. Why is this one more popular than another?

    • @KnittingWithCatHair
      @KnittingWithCatHair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Edina 😊 I think for me it's the versatility of the garment, the enjoyment of knitting the various sections of the yoke and the fact that it fits me nicely, which continually draw me back to this pattern. That being said I have also knit both versions of Melody Hoffman's Wild Posy, which I love as well. It's funny, but for some reason I've never been drawn to the ever-popular Lovenote though. I get easily overwhelmed by choice so when I find something I like I tend to stick with it 😂 I'm certainly not adverse to knitting other patterns and gladly welcome any suggestions you might have to offer 🤗💕
