To me, the Alfred & Bruce Confrontation is the best scene in the series. Yes, the Joker sequence is a highlight, but "Joker used to be Red Hood" and "Joker seduces Dr Quinzel even though he's in love with Batman" are both old news at this point, they are expected story beats; WB Montreal _presented_ them masterfully, but the actual narrative there is fairly by-the-book. But _here,_ in barely 2 minutes, we get great characterization for both Bruce, Alfred... and _the criminals of Gotham_ as a whole. It's _also_ fairly standard Batman-ing, but it's so condensed, so intimate, so matter-of-fact, that it really makes it much more memorable to me than Joker's complex & indulgent fever dream sequence. That is NOT a critisicm btw, I wouldn't change a single thing about either. I even think that was kind of the point. Joker soliloquizes and rambles, while Batman drops his mission statement and then the mic.
"...because I am the reason criminals breathe easier when the sun rises!" is up there with Kevin Conroy's legendary "I am vengeance! I am the night! I am Batman!"
My thoughts on this game is that it has the best story of the franchise after Arkham Asylum, and it has the best boss fights. The only weaknesses are that it’s buggier than the previous games, and the combat doesn’t feel as tight.
I played this game back in the day on the PS3 and it was just fine. It's the PC portability that is very messy and broken. If you change the settings you can make some of the most bugs disappear. Specially the flying around Ragdolls and physics. My only bad thing in this game is (not that really important actually) the low quality on the graphics and some bad in-game animations. It's the weaker game of the Arkham series in that regard. The cutscenes are very polished and well made but you can see that the rest of the game was made by a different engine or something like that. Kind of lazy work in my opinion. Tank God it's not the most important aspect of the game if you know what I mean. But what a great game! People are so dumb by skipping this one. Especially considering the Joker and Batman lore we get here and Alfred quality time...
Outta all arkham games ,this game made real justice for bane ,showing us his backstory & early days against the Bat perfectly. Again, excellent gameplay. And u handled that fire-fly fight without breaking a sweat, even better than I ever could. Which means U already are an Arkham pro.👏👏 Plus I love the way u made these vids by adding chapters. Love your dedication to them.👍🎮🦇
Nooooo don't you try to change because of worrying about boring us. Do what pleases you and what you want. After all it's why we like your videos. I gave it a like just because your final thoughts were so nice to hear. It means you are absorbing everything in your own way and loving it. Nothing that comes out of your mouth is boring. Trust me, 99% of your audience can agree haha
53:20 Hideout? HQ? Ragdoll physics will never be not funny to me. 😂 01:26:55 Not "Yes, sir. Step on me, daddy Knight, please?" 01:31:40 Whimsy the bomb defusal specialist! 01:50:50 The Fury fight part 2? Super fun episode! Hope you're having a lovely day, Whimsy!
Personally, I love watching you do the side quest stuff. Watching you go through the puzzles gives me the same excitement as seeing you complete more of the story. Get as distracted as you like, as far as I'm concerned! :D
I appreciate the way you play through games Doing the challenges, watching the cutscenes and listening to the codecs are one of the many things that makes you stand out! You do a real play through
Happy I found your channel! 😊 I'm not someone who necessarily cares about story in video games or what characters do or interpret what they would do. Personally I care more for gameplay, but I love hearing someone that is really good at interpreting the story and trying to predict what may happen next just based on context clues and character actions! Very very smart and intelligent you are! 🤓🤓❤❤
If I were Batman; I'd listen to Alfred. Who knows what heroics we are trying to accomplish be likely our doom, or even happen to the good people we are unable to protect?
The moment with the cryptographic sequencer and Riddler was funny. You have a habit of getting so close to those things Whimsy! You can be farther away 😂
oh i didn't expect this episode now, i just saw episode 6 few minutes ago, it's really christmas ahah (hope my english is good, i'm trying to improve my skills :p )
@WhimsyPsyche I don't know if you noticed, but in the boss battle with Firefly on the bridge, look at the scale of the cars in comparison to Batman. They are way too big compared to the character. Batman standing barely reaches the height of the car windows. Design error haha 🤣
I love hearing your lil rants everybody has a different opinion on Batman that’s what makes him special. Also your combat is gettin so good if u haven’t started Knight yet try n get used to the batclaw slam it has safety frames
My only complaint for this installment of Arkham aside from the little bit of jank is that the city felt a bit monotone and generic. The individual set pieces were solid, but gliding around the city felt a bit underwhelming. I don't know if it is the snow or just very brown and plain buildings. Overall, I really enjoyed the game.
Hey, wanna know something funny? Firefly has the same voice actor as Sundowner from Metal Gear Rising! Considering you're doing an MGR run at the same time as this, you could say you beat the same guy twice across two different games!
It's very interesting all this about questioning batman and although as you say Anarky is right in some things and not in others, if we are talking about questioning Batman I have been reading batman for years and years and Hush is the only villain in which he really leaves batman as wrong, it's crazy, since paul dini from the Arkham City where he beat Batman he want show probably this, one villain that was right unfortunely paul dini don't write Arkham knight, in the comics he is even more right, a villain made to redeem the Bat, unfortunately nobody understood Hush, although it has been tried People idealize Batman but Batman's main problem is that looking for a greater good causes more misfortune(like his kill rule let all this total maniacs all time escaping and killing more and more people, or in points like looking for the vulnerabilities of his friends of the JLA(Justice League), causes everyone to suffer for his betrayal, and even killed Poison Ivy when he wanted to cure her by not understanding the complicated consequences that his actions made although Hush warned him that "she is confused and you use it to get rid of an enemy" he wished that she would not be cured and she will embrace what she is, but she listened to Bruce and died and Hush lost that woman that he loves Anyone who likes Batman and then understands Hush will find the latter one of the most interesting and awesome characters in batverse(but maybe the more complex to understood because in one first impression he looks like horrible but you wait, read hush again and you understand why he is even better person that batman, the real nemesis of batman no joker), even Batman makes Hush lose his sanity and joker never was right Even Rocksteady fail in understand his motivation like his bio show, his real motivation is freedom no money, he reject money all time even to save lives
Never think we'd be bored by you gushing about or deep-diving into a topic during your gameplay... it's a big reason why we're your fans!
That's so kind thank you 😭

Great boss fight sequence, and the finale is just as good.

EXACTLY my thoughts!!
Kinda agree, even if for both story and boss fights I would but City in the same level

That is so very kind of you to say, thank you 😭
17:55 My favorite scene in the game 💪🏽 after Spider-Man this is why Batman has always been my favorite hero ❤️
53:20 Hideout? HQ?

Aah that's so awesome, thank you so much!! Very kind of you to say 🥰
The Firefly boss fight is amazing.
If I were Batman; I'd listen to Alfred. Who knows what heroics we are trying to accomplish be likely our doom, or even happen to the good people we are unable to protect?
Another banger video as always keep up Whimsy love your videos
Thank you so much!!
Batman: Arkham City is my favorite Arkham game but this is a close second. Kevin Conroy is my Batman but Roger is fantastic.
Firefly is a fun villain. His manic personality is entertaining
The moment with the cryptographic sequencer and Riddler was funny.
You have a habit of getting so close to those things Whimsy! You can be farther away 😂
Oopsie 🤣
the first time i played Origins i didn't know who Anarky was and his attitude made me think this was the first meeting Jason Todd
Btw don't miss the song in the credits, it's important you'll see
Oh my God I miss this video. I was looking at the playlist and I thought it would be updated.
Oh goodness I forgot to put it in!! Thank you so much for reminding me, I'll add it now!
oh i didn't expect this episode now, i just saw episode 6 few minutes ago, it's really christmas ahah (hope my english is good, i'm trying to improve my skills :p )
Firefly is voiced by the same actor who voiced Sundowner.
@1:38 since I hadn’t read any of the comics, I was confused when I played this game since I’ve been told that Jason Todd was known as Red Hood.
@WhimsyPsyche I don't know if you noticed, but in the boss battle with Firefly on the bridge, look at the scale of the cars in comparison to Batman. They are way too big compared to the character. Batman standing barely reaches the height of the car windows. Design error haha 🤣
This game is so awesome. The story is so epic.
Damn you're good at this game I bet you'll handle arkham knight very well
Aww thank you so much! I feel pretty average in this game but I love the gameplay so much 🥰 Excited for Arkham Knight for sure!
I love hearing your lil rants everybody has a different opinion on Batman that’s what makes him special. Also your combat is gettin so good if u haven’t started Knight yet try n get used to the batclaw slam it has safety frames

when u finish origns. i recommend batoman orgins black gate. as its not heavy on lore, and its a good game
When you said "I didnt ask for this" I remembered Deus Ex. Have you ever played it?
Nice place to stop the episode :D
You recycle outfits but they’re all smart.
Aww thank you so much!
Ur look/outfit is fine. The only thing to make it perfect is get rid of the nose ring
No
@@WhimsyPsyche It's a booger-catcher! LOL
