    Tangent, but it's honestly so refreshing to see your "normal person" kitchen in this video! So many fitness/wellness content creators have these super luxe, minimalist kitchens with absolutely spotless cabinets and appliances, and I'm like "How do you cook in here without being scared of ruining your decor?" as I watch 😂

    I like your approach to fitness and nutrition. Especially "enjoy fun stuff in moderation". I think it is true, important to allow ourselves to have those fun stuff, if we allow ourselves to enjoy our fav meal/foods, hence less restricting ourselves, we would have better satisfaction and satity level hence more sustainable diet.

    I couldn’t figure out why you blurred out the chicken at first. I kept saying it’s chicken?! Right?! Then I cracked up laughing because chicken breast 😂
    I always remember 80-20 for diet and exercise but never for diet alone so thank you for that!
    I have 3 kids and a hubby so sometimes it’s 2 different meals so I’m all about quick and efficient. We have make your own pizza night so I control how much I put on my pizza. My biggest downfall? My sweet tooth😭

      @JustinaErcole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hahah glad you found that as amusing as I did :) As far as sweets go, try to have some high quality pre-portioned sweets. That way you can portion control a bit better. I even tell my clients to put the rest of the box or bag in a really high spot so they're less tempted. Or the other option is to simply not keep it in the house. Hope that helps!

      @@JustinaErcole I will keep those tips in mind!I try to keep stuff hidden in places I wouldn’t think to look so when I do end up going in that cabinet or drawer it’s “oh I forgot I had that!” I also don’t come down hard on myself anymore if I splurge a little.☺️

    I love your 'shit in bowl'. I call them trash plates or garbage meal, because I take bits and pieces of prepped food or leftovers, chuck into the skillet, and add sauce or cheese or just seasoning. Not particularly visually appealing (at least for pictures) but it always tastes good and is usually pretty healthy.

    Field trip lol. After seeing your breakfast, I need to add in more veggies for breakfast. It’s usually an egg or oatmeal with whole grain toast. I eat a large salad for lunch, which ups my veggie servings and gives me a low calorie lunch. Dinner I eat around my husband and daughter. Neither one eat enough vegetables, but both are thin and healthy. Go figure! I try to eat a lean meat and veggie, cutting out the pasta or rice I make for them. Sweets are my downfall, especially dark chocolate!

    • @JustinaErcole
      @JustinaErcole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the sweets, try to get individual pre portions! I find it helps a bit :)

    Literally not trying to start up a debate or anything but im a vegetarian (so no meat or fish but I do eat eggs, dairy products, honey etc) and I always struggle with the amount of proteins to include in my daily meals. Any advice? I never really know how much is enough and how to get enough from my meals without getting redundant? (like I'm not sure I want to be stuffing myself with dozens of hard boiled eggs everyday lmao) I'll be happy to know your opinion and tips about that! Really cool video as usual, I just did your 50min glutes work out this morning, you rock girl!

      Hey! Precision Nutrition has an excellent calculator that can help you figure out how much protein is optimal for your goals on a vegetarian diet. If you give it a Google it should come right up. Hope that helps!

    Any tips for a veggie hater to like/eat more veggies? If you're lucky you'll see me eat a little bit of veggies with a lot of meat 😅 I want to eat healthier and include more veggies (except for tomatoes, texturally I just cannot)

    • @JustinaErcole
      @JustinaErcole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Samantha! Try going half and half with your carbs or hiding them in sauces. For example: if I'm doing rice, I'll do half rice and half cauli or broccoli rice. If I'm making a pasta sauce, I'll chop up some zucchini really small or puree it in. Also smoothies are a great way to stuff in spinach without even tasting it :) Hope that helps a bit!

    Any tips for healthy snacks? I've recently been going for an apple and some almonds, but have a feeling I'm gonna get tired of them if I don't mix it up haha (plus I've always been a salty kinda person, so what would be a good savory snack?)

    • @JustinaErcole
      @JustinaErcole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I’m honestly not a big snacker, but try to get protein in at your snack time. Almonds, hard boiled egg on a rice cake, protein bar, cheese stick. Lots of options!

    • @avarielavariel1632
      @avarielavariel1632 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So many options you can steal some of my ideas if you like 😊:
      Apples/banana with peanut butter + cinnamon.
      Cottage cheese, smoked salmon on pumpernickle.
      Mix beans with canned tuna sprinkled with nuts or seeds.
      Greek yogurt + fruit + nuts or muesli for crunch.
      And sometimes...1 or 2 chocolates 😁

    • @fionaearp8032
      @fionaearp8032 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      some more options: popcorn, roasted chickpeas (flavour according to your taste, i like honey soy), slice of cheese sandwiched between two corn thins (like rice cakes but corn), nut butter on rice cakes, the cucumber salad from mina rome's snacks vid on youtube but i add 1/2 cup of edamame for protein. also, just leftovers in a smaller portion are great and there are some decent processed snacks around too

    I kind of cringe at the fact you put warm food in a container and immediately closed it and refrigerate it. I was always taught to let it cool first. Is that wrong?

    • @JustinaErcole
      @JustinaErcole  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you couldn’t tell by my video, I’m definitely not a kitchen expert lol. So if it’s wrong I have no clue!

    • @BellaLouisaatje
      @BellaLouisaatje 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JustinaErcole I understand. I looked it up and I found a website where they explained why you should let it cool. And it's not because the food will go bad as I thought. It's because the fridge will get too warm and there may be condense in the fridge which will make it more wet and more prone for bacteria growth.

    For sure plastic is a huge problem, and we should reuse as much as possible. But you talk about "Fighting the battle of saving the earth" then you should quit having the menstruation cycle of chickens, you should stop eating the limbs of our dear animals (they are our friends not our food).
    Only then you'll be on track to "fight the battle of saving the earth"
    You seem like a real nice person, I'm sure you would feel compassion for our friends? Wish their lives to be lived fully and happy, not wish their deaths for our satisfaction...

    • @JustinaErcole
