Many moons ago, I trained and qualified in the fitness industry, left it behind a long time ago. Being in my 50s the realist are harder to find. Love how real you are, I commented on the first video I watched and just wanted to say, stay real, its really needed and you have a new subscriber. Big up

Thanks for the tips! I know protein is something I need more of in my diet, especially since my workouts are more strength training based now. I've used both chickpea and lentil pasta, but hadn't heard of edamame pasta. I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for that next time I'm grocery shopping! Another great option for vegetarian protein meal prep is to pan fry chickpeas on the stove with whatever seasoning you like and have on hand. Personally, I love to pan fry and season them with some Trader Joe's Everything But The Bagel seasoning. They'll keep in the fridge for a week or so and make a great addition to salads, pasta, avocado toast, or even just alone as a snack.

Thanks for this video :) I have recently realised that although the quality of the food I eat is good, the quantity is quite insufficient. So much of the culture I have been exposed to for years has been about eating less and losing weight, that I have had a problematic relationship with food all my adult life. This year, I have spent some time trying to get back into an intuitive eating pattern. I feel like I am now in a good place for working towards a better carb-protein-fat ratio, and this video helps a lot. I think I will use the most "inaccurate"/ intuitive method, though, since numbers trigger my anxious/ obsessive tendencies.

Ah this was so helpful! I've been tracking what I eat for a couple of weeks now, just to really understand nutrition and get me to my healthiest self, and ugh getting enough protein can be such a struggle (especially bc I love bread and pasta)! so I'll definitely be checking out the edamame pasta 😄

Yep! I've seen lentil too. A little lower in protein than edamame but some is better than none!

My problem is... what do you do when you're a high weight? The calculations left me at about 234g of protein. I'd say on average I probably get about 120g. How on earth do I get up to that number without feeling like the only thing I do is eat chicken? 😂

Are you using your body weight to calculate? I would recommend also calculating using your total caloric intake (the percentage option) and see if that number feels more sustainable. Hope that helps!

What are your thoughts on pre workout supplements? I see all these fitness influencers chomping down on dry protein powder and....😱

Overrated. Most people aren't training at high enough of an intensity to need preworkout every single time. I think it's a good tool to have when you absolutely need it, but otherwise most people would do well with just a cup of coffee :)
