Salt is just about right unlike Fogo de Chao which is too salty however Texas De Brazil is expensive no matter what time of the day you eat unlike the others which are usually cheaper during lunch time.
The meats come out a bit slower than their competitors too so you will end up spending more time before you are able to taste all of the meat. I wish there was a style where you can actually pick what you want so as we do not waste time and for them to cook what is being asked.
Good place to eat. My GF and I went there on Valentines day a few yrs back. I asked one of the guys with the meat if they had any beef ribs. He said he would go check. When he left I guess his boss saw me talking to him and came over to ask if every thing was ok. I said yes and wondered if they had any beef ribs. He said he would go check. First guy comes back and says no and gives me a $20 gift card for our trouble. 5 min later his boss comes back and says the same thing and gives us another $20 gift card. I didnt say anything and was cool with that. My gf and I broke up a few weeks later and I was more pissed that she kept the gift cards, than us breaking up.
I used to love going to Texas de Brazil, then I had gastric bypass surgery. Since I can no longer enjoy hefty filling meals, this is just a memory now.
Oh and let me add... the staff was amazing! The manager came to ask us if we were enjoying our experience & I let him know that the lamb chops hadn't come around. Within 5 minutes there was a waiter with a fresh batch. Everything was absolutely perfect!
I was just there on Sunday. I was late booking my table at fogo de Chao & this place came up on the similar list and omg am I glad it did! Fogo de Chao is great but this is my new favorite spot. We drove 2 hrs & 15 mins to get there & it was sooo worth it!!!
I haven't been to that chain but those Brazilian steakhouses are awesome. They're a bit expensive at around $40 for lunch but you can eat as much as you want from a selection of high quality grilled meats, cold foods bar which has a lot of premium deli items, and endless Brazilian hot side dishes like cheese bread brought to the table. It's not too bad if you skip dessert and only drink free water. My favorite chain is Chama Gaucha but Fogo de Chão is also great.
I won't be eating a $40 Lunch everyday. But $40 is not "a bit expensive". It's rather inexpensive (California) for all the meats and side dishes that can be consumed. Nowadays everything is getting expensive from labor, supplies etc.
I’ve eaten that Brazilian steakhouses several times over the years every time I go it doesn’t matter what I order it all has the same aroma! My recommendation is Cook the meats separately!
Totally recommend. I’ve gone to multiple locations at home in NY and out of state in Aruba. I have to say this place really takes the cake 🍰 the dine in experience overall is perfect and don’t forget to feast on the mashed potatoes and plantains
The Addison location is our favorite birthday treat destination. We make a lunch reservation, and it's only about $27 per person. The flank and the picanha are the best meat I've ever had, and I'm ranch-raised. Go in with a game plan, and don't waste stomach room on the salad bar. Go straight to the beef!!
I'm carnivore. I always order 4 rare filets just to get started. I keep the Gauchos very busy. Texas De Brazil is a top notch restaurant in my books. The price is not expensive even with a big tip for me. I do get my money's worth. People are amazed at how much meat I can consume in one sitting.
Makes a lot of sense why you can’t take leftovers home, they need to use what’s left on the swords to make take out orders to counter the loss of food and profits, they probably barely have any good waste that way and that’s awesome
That probably doesn't happen because it is a Brazilian cuisine and the quality of food matter a lot. You are very familiarized with american's restaurants that uses to do that. I ordered many times their delivery and it is the same as in the restaurant. What they do with the left meat on the sword I don't know, but I'm sure that it is not used in the take out food.
The food looks great fresh great ingredients flavor color is all ,you need to ask for in a meal. The meat cooked well with heart love understanding, that’s what makes a great place’s to go to.
My favorite restaurant, I have to been to one Orlando, Tampa and Chicago, best meat and customer service. Picaña, Lanp Chop and Lobster Bisque my favorite
I strongly suggest you go to golden corral in lieu of this place its expensive as hell and service sucks. It may depend on where you go but my story about the San Antonio Texas Texas De Brazil was a nightmare. I sent a complaint to their corporate office and they were so concerned that they did not ever respond.
Went once....never again. Long wait in between waiters, then you get two 'morsels' or slices and they disappear into the 'hinterland' and then you get to wait for two more tidbits ......like trying to catch a cab at rush hour. I actually stayed for over an hour and honestly had more salad than I really wanted to because it seemed like they trying to feed the whole restaurant on two lumps of rump caps...stay home and cook my own.
I enjoy Brazilian steakhouses but for a lot of folks eating as much as you can means either an exercise in gluttony or subsidizing other people's meal. There's no happy medium. For a while my local Churrascaria offered a small fixed portion of tasty meat for a decent lunch price. I'd go regularly....but otherwise its a pretty rare I visit. The wine is very expensive and throw in the tip and its a very pricey night out. Markup on wine is outrageous..150 percent plus or more. BTW I can buy Waygu Picanya and feed the family for about 30 dollars for 4-5 people.
I saw the video review about Fogo de Chão, and I read a lot of bad comments. The problems with the Brazilians steakhouses is that the Americans put a label of "All you can eat" buffet style on it. The right label could be "Eat everything you wish" it is an experience of different tastes, but they go to a Churrascaria and want to eat like a pig in a trough paying the price of a Big Mac and thinking about their burger barbecue. The great challenge of the Brazilians steakhouses in USA is to be authentic to the Brazilian Churrasco, from the menu to hiring Brazilians Gauchos. Fogo has already almost 40% of its menu Americanized with trash food just to fit in the american taste, and it is dangerous because Americans are able to destroy any kind of cuisine that came from other countries. Any Italian here could agree with me. The rapid expansion of Fogo de Chão made it to hire Americans or other latinos instead of Brazilian to be gauchos in some restaurants and the review of those are the worst since locals don't care so much about the preparations of the meat because they are used to deep the meat in a whatever spicy sauce. I was horrified when I saw mac'n cheese in the hot plate buffet in a Churrascaria.
"unlimitted gluttony" she says it in the first sentence, but you HAVE to live and work in Houston, Texas to really understand this world and noone does it better apparently than the Middle Easterners.........looks tasty and if you aks me it is cheap at $40 a lunch...when you know how much it costs to feed livestock....
this place is quite a bit beyond a hamburger joint. I would have a hard time buying the stuff I eat there for the price Texas de Brazil charges. and they cook it for you to boot! really sharp dining room as well. a win, win
No, really, Texas De Brazil was really a copy of the first Fogo De Chao ( first Brazilian steakhouse in the country ) which was right across the corner on Beltline and Adison. You only went to. TX de Brazil if you wanted to save some money. I might have been to Texas De Brazil once, but who would go there when there was Fogo diagonally across about 50 steps away. Me and my then girlfriend ( now wife of 24 years ) used to go to Fogo so often that we had our own table. We even had our rehearsal dinner at Fogo. Now I have a buddy who owns a Rodizio grill where they close down half the restaurant for our and their kids to have dinner every time we visit. Yet, my kids still ask me when we can go back to a Fogo. Why go to any other Brazilian steakhouse ?
It's Texas De Brazil. Brazilian is a wax treatment. 🤣 I work next to one of their locations. Tucanos is the same restaurant for half price with a better salad bar.
Worst place I ever ate. The meat was over cooked and all I got was the outer bark. I even got in an argument with a server because I didn't want the first slice which was all bark. When I go to a steak house I will stick the the traditional Ruth Chris or Hyde Park. Thank You.
I don’t really like the place. The sides are mediocre. The meat seems over cooked. I don’t like the idea of food going around and around and around. I’ve been a couple time with friends but definitely not a place I would pick if I had to choose.
What are your thoughts on Texas De Brazil?
¡Fantástico! I've had the genuine churrasco in southern Brasil - and it's great!!
Love it, I leave in a meat and salt coma EVERY TIME!
Salt is just about right unlike Fogo de Chao which is too salty however Texas De Brazil is expensive no matter what time of the day you eat unlike the others which are usually cheaper during lunch time.

It's just a knockoff of Fogo de Chao. Nothing special.
For people still wondering: Food is AMAZING! Highly recommended!
Made by Mexicans not brazilians
So the fuck what?

I've had fun and an outstanding meal every single time I've visited. It never fails.

Texas De Brazil is authentic and awesome. RECCOMEND
Texas De Brazil is soooo goood!!!! I went to the one in Huntsville Alabama
One of my favorite places to go even if it's an hour drive.
the flank steak with the chimichurri to accompany, the best thing they got goin there. leg of lamb is excellent. salad bar will get you in trouble!
Outstanding place to eat
I went to Fogo de Chao and I stated my case : I wanted lamb and picanha only and I got it right !
My favourite restaurant!
Fun fact for dog owners. If you ask for the beef rib bone, they’ll put it in a nice little doggy bag.
We have "Rioz Brazilian Steakhouse" here in Myrtle Beach. It is my guilty pleasure.

for what it is worth, my brazillian friends tell me chiaroscuro are actually Argentinian in origin. no matter, they all seem to serve fabulous food.
you mean "churrasco"? 🤣
yeah Argentina and South of Brazil share a lot in culture.
Brazilian and Argentinian "churrascos" are different, both in the way of cooking and in the ingredients themselves.
Churrasco is indigenous from the South American prairies. However, it changed with time in Argentina as so in Brazil.
How much for such an advertising?
