How to change a broken freezer light bulb on a sub zero

Changing a freezer lightbulb on a top over bottom subzero refrigerator is a little bit more difficult than it seems. There is not a lot of space to maneuver and many times the bulb will be broken all together. I will teach you how to extract the bulb and get your lights working again.
This works on all Sub Zero models with broken bulbs. although the bulb size may vary

This is EXACTLY what I needed! Never knew that the whole draw assembly including panel could be lifted out - now I can also clean the bottom while I'm getting the bulb base out with needle nose pliers! Thank you - excellent video.

And yes, looking at the other comments - are LEDs available for these older models? Ours is probably around 2000. And for that matter, the narrow trim piece along the top of the freezer drawer is no longer an available part, but do you ever have fridges you can't repair and would sell me the part? Ours is completely dented. Many thanks!!!

When I find some LED replacements that fit, I will change out all in my 561.

I was able to fit E17 to E26 socket adapters and then used GE 63592 bulbs on those adapters with my 590 model.

Really enjoy and appreciate your informative content. I have a question , being incandescent bulbs are becoming harder to come by and i know certain models are more compatible with them than others. I wanted to know if i can use LED bulbs for a 650 series over-under model from the early 2000s (believe serial number starts with "M1" ) for the refrigerator area bulbs ? A friend has a similar year and model to Sub Zero to mine and been fine for him using LEDs but wanted to double check. Also , what type LED bulbs do you recommend to use as replacements (refrigerator bulbs not the freezer) ?

What about if the lights are not coming on even after you change them? However, the upper lights are working fine.
