I had the exact issue a number of years ago. Reflux medicine definitely does help. My wife and I ended up deciding to lose weight together. She lost 80 and I lost almost 50. Since then, I haven’t needed any reflux medicine and no other health issues.

I have a hiatal hernia and Ive had endoscopies done etc. I used to wake up in the morning feeling like flem was clogging my throat and I couldnt breath. And in 2012 I stopped drinking alcohol. Cut down on the ketchup, tomato sauces etc and its all but gone away. Literally I might have to take a tums once or twice a year all because of my diet and quitting alcohol. My mother suffers from it as does my father. Its rough I know. Im just glad its not heart related.

Common trigger foods are red meat, citrus and spice.
Had that same shit vato, pickle juice and no eating 5 hours before bedtime made that shit completely go away for me.
