I sprint 3/week just to stay conditioned (not an athlete). I added in start/stop and direction days and the decel on balls of feet were rough on my 48 y/o knees. Today, oddly I had 65yard runs at top set and at the end I raised up, high knee and let my feet land flat but absorbing energy slightly-not stiff legged. I was surprised how easy it was on leg/hips, and what little effort it took to bleed off speed. I made a note of this while packing up and planned to try it on my decel and directional day on Wed. SO I come home and the algorithim gives me this video and I noticed the heel cue. Crazy coincidence lol. I am also going to try it for depth jumps-see if that makes landing better. Thank you for the upload coach

Hey Coach, I heard striking the ground on your heel can lead to injury, so I just wanted to ask if there’s a certain way to do it or if I was just taught wrong?

Love your work Les but cueing a heel strike in decel is asking for an ACL

How do you think a sprinting soccer player plants the foot when striking the ball? It’s a heel strike.
