  • Nick and Tim have changed it up for this week's episode recording as they are coming at you live from a cabin in the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds! Both Nick and Tim have been staying at the cabins with their families this week and had the opportunity to hang out some with some overlap on their trips. In this episode, they break down their adventures together. Tim also discusses the new DVC cabins at the campgrounds that he was able to tour. Nick shares about his time on the Disney Magic and his experience on Lookout Key at Lighthouse Point. He also discusses the new Mega Movie Parade that made its debut at Universal Orlando. The Jurassic World float is next level! the two track through other conversations regarding theme park news as well as Hi Dad Soup moments! Thank you for tracking through the wilderness with us!

I loved this more chilled episode, just a chat between friends. Nick giggling about touching his lightsaber 😂

For years we have always traveled in large numbers, as adults, seniors, and children, to the parks. When we went as a just a couple, we were stupefied the whole time at how easy it all was. 😂
Seeing many of the cabins popping up on social media and the buyers highlighting all the repairs they will be needing.

I’m older and Disney has just become too complicated for me. It was so much fun to just go to a park and walk around and get in a line. Who wants to bother with Genie+ and lightning lanes?

    • @caitlynskiff2001
      @caitlynskiff2001 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

The thing is that you can still go to the parks and just jump into lines for most rides, but the newer rides have the virtual line because they don't want too many people standing in lies crowding up the area and waiting in a line for too long. If Tiana's was a normal stand by line the wait time would be 3-4 hours long. Even worse if the ride breaks down. I personally don't want to spend all my time in a line when I could be on another ride with a shorter wait. That's where I can understand why Disney does ride openings the way they do now. And as for the lightning lanes, you don't have to get those. That's just an option for those that want to spend the money and don't want to wait in a long line.

Listening to Nick describe spending an HOUR juggling around for Tiana then saying it was a win because that's the new reality....NO thanks. I have my many memories to quell any need to put myself through all of that.

“We are the best Disney podcast!” Yes you are, I absolutely love you guys. Sometimes it’s a struggle to remember things, especially when you are having fun and just relaxing. As fellow parents we are excited to go on an adults cruise without our kids next week on the Wish. I felt guilty but hearing that you are your wife went made me feel better about getting to do Disney just us two. So jealous I can’t be at the Fort right now too!

JUST found this podcast. I'm hooked.
    A few hot takes:
-LOVED it when Nick said, "You should do it!" and Tim's reaction was like, "...when?? There are only 24 hours in a day, and I'm already using 27!"
-Our last three Disney cruises, we have made lifetime friends with at least one of the couples at our dining table, and the last one, all 6 of us are still connecting 5 years later!
-Can definitely relate to Nick's need for military precision when planning a trip. We always drive down to WDW. It takes 20 hours over 2+ days (LOVE making stops along the way), and when we get there, we always have a blast, BECAUSE we "make our plan and stick to it", but also allow time to be spontaneous. "Know what is available, and make use of it."
    Thank you Nick and Tim!
Looking forward to watching more of your chats.

Laughing at all the struggling to remember names of things, because that’s me and my friend talking to each other. My mind is a sieve sometimes.
A bunch of new B&Ms have that little rattle. It’s kinda weird.

I have a slight correction regarding the DAS party size, I think. (this knowledge is from reading the original announcement and the planDisney site, not first hand experience) You can have up to 4 people using the pass (qualified guest + 3) whether they are family or not. So Nick, Luke, Ethan, and Tim could all ride together (4) but Jenn could not join them (that would be 5). But if the qualified guest's IMMEDIATE FAMILY was more than 4 total people (like a third (or fourth) child) then the guest plus all of their immediate family (5, 6, 7?) would be able to ride together using the pass.

I kept an eye out for you guys. We were over at Wilderness Lodge. I want to say I saw Nick at Whispering Canyon Cafe in the lobby area, walked right past him. I'm like is that him? Should I say something, but didn't. If it was, they hey Nick! If not, then hey random person! lol
We did head over to the fort a few different times. Never seen it so busy on the 4th before, the Settlement area was CRAZY!! They even opened up the cast member parking lot, across from Circle D for guests. The loop closest to the Settlement was closed off so cast members could park.

Tim the dining plan is not good for a staycation where you are only staying at the resort for your trip. You need to go to the parks, Disney springs or visit other resorts during your stay to have the dining plan work for you.
