- Nick and Tim are back in person this week and have a lot of catching up to do! Both guys share Hi Dad Soup moments and the fun they had on Father’s Day. Tim fills us in on all of the fun he had during his week long cruise on the Disney Fantasy with two visits to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. He tells us the positives and negatives and gives his overall review. Both guys discuss the news from Universal Orlando this week as details were revealed about Dark Universe coming to Epic Universe. So much happening in the theme park space and we are so happy to be along for the ride! On that tracks that is.
Tim's measured big picture approach is such a huge reason why I enjoy his content. He's honest about things, says what could be better, but doesn't hyper-focus on something that is only 5% or less of the overall experience. I don't enjoy when people only focus on the negative when that doesn't tell anywhere near the whole story.

Tim really does carry a positive mindset and outlook on life, never seems to let the little things get the best of him. I appreciate this podcast so much. I really wish my fiancé would give it a listen cause even Nick when he had his moment and just kinda talked himself through it like everything’s good don’t let this ruin your day. You guys have a great perspective on things and always try to be better ♥️ love the podcast guys!

I wish I could hear more from Tim on how he felt about Father’s Day and what happened that day. It seems like the conversation immediately got switched back to Nick’s experience. Maybe pay attention to how much talk time each person has.

This may be an unpopular opinion but as an adult that enjoys going to Disney world i do not prioritize character experiences even a little bit. So much so, that I could walk by a Mickey meet and greet with 0 min wait and still pass it up. My point is - all of the “entertainment experiences” at the new destination don’t interest me, but what DOES interest me is those chairs on the beach with crystal clear water. Looks heavenlyyyyy

I look at the “mint” sandwich, Communicore Hall, and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and believe Disney like Apple is suffering from loyalty complacency. They are doing the bare minimum knowing that people will complain, yet still spend the $$$

Tim: your attitude about how things are fine, go with the flow, seeing the issues but seeing the big picture. And my ENTIRE family is the type of ppl searching for the negative or not seeing the big picture. Its frustrating. I can't imagine kick back from the internet! Yikes.
Tim: I don't think its cheating because REMEMBERING the answers is hard to do a week apart. Lol I know I'd be yelling internally OMG THIS WAS ON THE LAST ONE YOU SHOULD REMEMBER!!! Lol
We've done so many ports over our 41 cruises. Can say not every port is for everyone. Watched Tim's first video on Lighthouse Point, looks beautiful, the water I can say is some of the nicest in the Bahamas as far as the ports go, with Half Moon Cay (Carnival) being just as similar as well as Bimini, which we just came back from and did an entire video on the excursion we took. We're booked on Fantasy for later this year and cannot wait, we're not going to Lighthouse Point, but are going to Castaway Cay, really excited to go back there.
I would say for Tim, you've been on a bunch of Disney cruises. IF you were going to maybe swap over to another line. But if we were to point you in the right direction, I'd suggest one of the Royal Caribbean Oasis class ships. Yes they are massive, BUT they are not as complex on the inside. Shockingly easy to get around. Tons for kids to do, a lot of pools and slides (depending on the ship, I want to say Allure isn't as upgraded yet, which it will be in early 2025). But that class personally I would think would be a great next step in your cruise life.
When we started cruising back in 2011 we did 6 Carnival cruises until we did Norwegian Sky, which is a small ship. That was our first non-Carnival cruise and weren't a fan of moving away from Carnival. Now fast forward, we've been on 41 cruises on 7 different lines on 31 different ships. I will say once you go to another line you will compare it all back to Disney. Totally normal, it's how we were. Nowdays we compare all the ships to one another, but Carnival has always been our home. Its not nearly the same as it used to be, but for us it will always be home. But for you guys, even Nick and his family, Royal's Oasis class would be something super fun for everyone.

Waited all week for you guys to talk about Dark Universe and you guys barely talked about it 😭 I’m so excited for it. Can anyone point me in the direction to a more in depth discussion about it?
They are saying no annual pass for Epic Universe the first year and date based tickets only due to capacity. They also might have entry times into some of the lands.
ICE CREAM SANDWICH HACK!!! Put them on dry ice for a bit. They become a cross between a regular ice cream sandwich and an astronaut ice cream sandwich! Give it a try it's incredible!
Terra Luna and Stella Nova are the two separate hotels. Helios is IN the park.
I’m with you Nick, Kilwins absolutely has the best toasted coconut ice cream. There’s one in the Lady Lake.

My family owns an ice cream shop and we have a flash freezer which makes everything really frozen and im telling you, put an ice cream sandwich in there and eat it, nothing will ooze, but its still soft enough to eat and not hurt your teeth!!
I LOVE Acolyte!!!! My favorite Star Wars series so far. (I’ve been a Star Wars fan for 28+ yrs). I think the big bad is Mother Koril. She never approved or allowed the twins to think of any life outside the coven, whereas Mother Aniseya was more forgiving of Osha seeking another life. I think Koril is seeking revenge on the Jedi because without the Jedi interfering with the coven, their lives wouldn’t have fallen apart.
I can't say this will happen to Jackson, but if he doesn't like the dark he might not like the pre-shows at guardians. When I rode in May there was a kid crying the whole time during the pre-show because he was afraid of the dark enclosed space.
Really funny video online interviewing the actor who played Boss Nass (gungan leader) and he explains why the character does that head shaking blublublublub thing lol. He thought it would fit and George Lucas loved it.

I have watched so many ppls videos about lookout cay and everyone is pronouncing Bahamian wrong. I even heard Tim say Bohemian culture. Its Bahamian.
I'm late to the conversation, but I'm with Nick. I'm not a fan of birds. I won't even watch the birds in flight ( UP show) or the one in front of the tree of life.

The Acolyte is trash. Worse than Obi Wan. Worse than Mando 3. At least Mando 1 and 2 and Andor were enjoyable. I was excited for Disney Star Wars, but they've ruined it for me. Episode 7 and Rogue One were fine. Don't get me started on 8 and 9 😂😂
