    Pearly Tan and Thinaah are now house-hold in not only in Malaysia but also within the global badminton fraternity. The pair is famous for their attacking play, powerful smashes, and tricky shots, are often most feared by their opponent. While it is usual in men’s double, it is unusual in women badminton double.
    Like many badminton prodigies, Pearly and Thinaah started badminton very young. Born in Alor Setar, Kedah in the year 2000, Pearly grew up in badminton family. Her father runs the Alor Setar Racquet Club, which was the club of national shuttlers Lee Zii Jia and Jacky Kok. She entered the national team in 2013.
    Thinaah is the second child of S. Muralitharan, an engineer and Parimala Devi, a medical doctor. She has an older brother and a younger sister, Selinaah Muralitharan, who is a former Selangor state shuttler. She is fluent in four languages, namely Tamil, Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin, in which she picked up from her ethnic Chinese friends whilst she was studying at the Bukit Jalil Sports School. Since May 2020, Thinaah is pursuing a Bachelor of Education at Open University Malaysia.
    Pearly and Thinaah were the gold medalists in the women's doubles and mixed team event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. They thrashed England's Lauren Smith-Chloe Birch 21-5, 21-8 to win the Commonwealth women's doubles gold medal in Birmingham 2022. Pearly-Thinaah successfully defended the gold won by Vivian Hoo-Chow Mei Kuan pair in Gold Coast four years ago, continuing Malaysia's dominance in the event for the third straight Games. With Pearly-Thinaah's victory, the Malaysian contingent surpassed their six-gold target with seven gold, matching their 2018 Gold Coast haul.
    She had a successful career in junior days, with Toh Ee Wei and Chen Tang Jie. She won the girls' doubles silver at the 2018 Asian and World Junior Championships, respectively with Ee Wei. Ee Wei is another prodigy went on to partner with Chen Tang Jie in the senior squad of Malaysia badminton team and entered the mixed doubles top 10 of the BWF world ranking in September 2023.
    Pearly Tan also hold world record for the fastest smash at 438 km per hour. The Guinness World Records recently confirmed the record, making Tan the first female badminton player to hold this title. The record-breaking smash was achieved with the help of a Nanoflare 1000Z racket at the Yonex Tokyo Factory gymnasium on 14 April 2023. According to Yonex, the speed of Tan’s smashes is faster than that of a Formula One car.
    Having won several of the BWF tournaments, 2021 Swiss Open and 2022 French Open, the pair is still hunger for success. With all the hard work, grit and determination, the dynamic duo is currently ranked as the world’s 11th-ranked pair, as of August 2023. Pearly and her partner’s sports achievements have made them role models for aspiring badminton players in Malaysia and worldwide.

    Both of them can we medal in olympic if they can perform likes they did in French open 2022
