It's the fit not the weight
You took the words right outa my mouth. How Can Freddie recommend the guy buy a helmet on sale without sampling the fit? For all Freddie's good intentions he certainly paves the road to hell admirably.
Agreed. I tried on around 10 different helmets before I found a good fitting helmet. Freddie, please advise your viewers to try on helmets in a shop. At very least thier first helmets. Once they get an idea of what size and brand works for them, online buying may work out fine. But not for finding a good fit.
Hi I’m the Helmet guy from South Wales.
I went into the shop and this i100 fitted perfectly. It was the one that fitted the best.
I’ll try go and find somewhere that has Freddie’s suggestion but that looks difficult to find.
@@crystalcars5210 I came here to say it's most likely the fit, but to be fair the i100 is one of the heaviest helmets you can get. Unfortunately the only way for you to find out for sure is to buy a different helmet and see how you get on.
@@crystalcars5210 Weight of a helmet is never the problem. It’s always the fit. Terrible advice from Freddie, sorry. Some helmets are round , some are oval. Same for helmets. The best ones have interchangeable liners to get a perfect fit. There is no reason at all why a helmet should be uncomfortable.
Hi Freddy , having been riding bikes for 50 years and owned dozens of helmets I have found it's NOT the weight that causes most issues, it's the FIT. Our heads are different shapes, mainly oval or round. for instance, Shoie are generally oval, Arai are round and there's many in between. Get the best advice for fit for your own head in a store . you should never buy off the internet without trying that helmet personally for fit, as to cost, buy the best you can afford. if you have a £5 head put a £5 helmet on it 😉
I totally agree. Also to be considered should be aerodynamics. Some are very “draggy” and this combined with a poor fit and a higher weight will result in discomfort.
I agree, I have a round head and always found Shoei fitted best. Bell are a very close second, close enough to buy one as they are a 9.5 to a Shoei 10. Arai fit nicely everywhere except the top of my head as I can push my hand right in! The difference is amazing!
Hi Freddie, regarding Tony and his headache issue. It may not be down to weight but very sight pressure points, almost unnoticeable. Either way, unless it can be adjusted, he needs to change it. Good advice from you Freddie 👍
I used to get headaches from horse riding helmets but never from motorcycle helmets. You're absolutely right about differing pressure points.
Good evening to all Dobbsters....
Hey Freddie,
As others have mentioned, before looking purely at reducing the weight of the helmet I would look at the fit. If the fit is too tight or the design does not suit the shape of your head, it will press on pressure points resulting in discomfort and headaches. I would highly recommend they speak with their local bike shop as most will be more than happy to help find the right helmet for them. Happy riding!
Yes, I am sure the bike shop will help find the right fit. And it just so happens, it'll probably be the most expensive one they have.
Freddie, if you come to Sturgis give me a call. We will provide a safe place to stay and a garage for your bike. I have 3 Enfields so I am parked during the rally. It is a spectacle that all should see once in their life, Plan to be here a week after the rally so we can ride the great roads without the crowds.
Thank you Dennis!🙌🏻
Camping on a bike can be great. What are people made of or expecting these days. Yes the ground is usually hard, and nights get cold. I had years of wild camping as a youth and teenager before buying a bike and camping all over Europe, and the UK. Me and my wife went to Switzerland two up on a Kawa Z750 with the only specialised luggage being a fairly large tank bag. Two ex army packs fastened together and thrown over the pillion seat, and a rear rack for the Vango Force 10 and two sleeping bags. My wife also wore a medium rucksack. Two weeks camping to the Alps and back and we loved it.
Take as little as possible and make sure the important bits are quality ie tent and sleeping bags.
Freddie, you say you've never taken a mattress, but your Wingman has, or had, one built in.
The trick is to get a good quality, inflatable AND insulated mattress and don't over inflate it, when you sit on it you should just feel the ground.
Thanks 🙏 for the shout out on my 300 Rally mate . Hope your camping ⛺️ setup will work will for you , took me around 10 years to get all my gear we it’s practical, light weight and MOST of all comfortable.
When I was a Service Manager at a big bike dealer I was told to charge £26 per hour - I was shocked and said, "no one will pay that....." I was wrong. I still have friends who are mechanics, who tell me theres nothing they can do really on servicing bikes. They spend more expensive time removing and replacing fancy panels than actually doing maintenance.
Correct shape and Fitment is crucial for the individual. Go to a shop who know exactly what they are doing, get measured and find the correct fitting helmet. Headaches come from ill fitting helmet on pressure points of head. It can be a cheaper helmet or an expensive hemet, just got to fit right. Doesn’t need to be Carbon Fibre. Enjoy
I had exactly the same experience. I’m still a relatively new rider that started riding last year and the hjc i100 was the very first helmet i ever owned. I loved the flip back feature but alas with time i found that it was just so heavy. I didn’t mind the weight that much until I did a 4 day tour of North Wales in September that was almost ruined because of the blinding headaches I got from the helmet. First thing i did when i returned home to London was to ditch the helmet and I’ve subsequently bought two other helmets that weigh a fraction.
Good evening to all!
Very interesting! However a badly fitting helmet can also cause neck pain! I use a small Bell Bullet these days as I actually have neck problems. Its so much lighter than me Carbeg Duke
Hi Freddy i have been riding for for 44 years and in all that time i have owned a few different makes of helmets over the years. yes you are correct when you say that when riding you need to be wearing gear that you are comfortable in as it makes riding much better. however i discovered back in 2005 that i was getting a few neck pains on sort rides after a bought a 1200s bandit i changed my helmet for a new shoei (can't remember the model) the new one had a spoiler on the back and all was good. in 2010 i changed bikes to a cruser and on the ride home i got really bad neck and back pains. it tured out to be that the screen on the bike was pushing the air to the back of the helmet stright on to the spoiler pushing my neck back and down at the same time. once i changed the helmet all was good and has been since. the weight and fit of a helmet is important but screens and wind resistance can affect the helmet and the way it feels when riding.
Re Tony,s helmet , headaches can occur can often happen from the helmet pressing on the forehead , have a look if padding is changeable
Actually I do get a red mark there I’m told. I’m not sure if it came with padding. I’ll look. Thanks
Freddie, the guy that has a problem with his helmet should really stop worrying about weight and get to a decent dealer who will help him get the correct fit. I agree, he should bin the HJC he has but fit is the single most important consideration for a helmet.
Great collar. See you next Tuesday
My best helmet was a Schubert…… inbuilt visor (unique for its time), so quiet, great neck closure but heavy! I never considered weight a problem considering the wind pressure my neck had to resist, and the neck muscles grew to handle it.
Not only a mattress Freddie I would recommend an insulated under blanket too. And a Flextail pump to inflate the mattress. These pumps are amazing, tiny and also most have a built in light and usb rechargeable.
Yes and also a nice flat screen tv and a bath/shower and a nice kitchen.
Others have said it but it is worth re-enforcing, when it comes to helmets go to somewhere that can measure you and fit a helmet properly. it makes a huge difference, many helmets can be tailored to fit with interchangeable cheekpads etc, it really does make a big difference.
I don't think Triumph has this problem. For them it's more like costs $6,000 to build, sell for $14,000
FYI, flip up helmets are called clam shell helmets.
As alot already said, it's the fit 90% of times.
Go buy the helmet in a shop, talk to the dealers there, not only they can help you with the right fit for your head, they can help you find the most light, fresh or silenced helmet for your needs.
And usually they are bikers too, so they'll understand what you may or may not need.
Honda Rune is my grail bike. When they came out I was not in the position to purchase one. Now the price is more than I think they are actually worth. I may just break down and do it but that's a lot of money.
I think the helmet doesn't fit properly not a weight issue. Buy you helmet from a shop that actually understands helmets. I've seen some really bad sales advice in some stores.
If Tony really likes the features of the HJC, I wouldn't recommend the AGV as it's not as versatile. The chinbar doesn't rotate 180º like the HJC so you can't really use it as an open face above town speeds (I don't even think it's homologation for the open position). The HJC is heavy, even for a flip-front, at 1.9kg so, if he wants the features of the HJC without the weight, I'd suggest the LS2 Advent X Carbon 1.55kg and cheaper than the AGV. When my Shark Evo needs replacing, that's what I'm going for.
PS Be wary of helmets offered at a substantial discount. In the case of the AGV chosen by Freddie, it's probably because that particular model no longer meets the latest safety standards it's certified to ECE 22.05, not the current 22.06. 22.05 helmets are still legal to buy and safe to use, they just may not offer the same level of protection as a 22.06 model. As long as you are aware of this when buying, you pays your money and you makes your choice. (Although I'd always be prepared to pay a bit extra for the latest safety standards.)
As mentioned below, it's not the weight it's the fitment. if it has slightly more pressure on his forehead then that can definitely cause headaches...i own a HJC RPHA-1 redbull & had to trim the foam on the forehead area as couldn't wear it for more than 20 minutes(felt ok in the shop though), HJC RPHA-11's fit me perfectly they're all different.
1:14 it’s tight all over not heavy , I have HJC Mexico Santa Muerte , look it up, it’s my favourite cruising helmet way more comfortable than Bell Custom 500 and Biltwell Gringo S
great vid 👍
From experience I would say that helmet pressure points matter more than weight but one you find the right shape then I would also say the lighter the better. Note that if a helmet does not fit you perfectly you can shave a bit of the polystyrene out and add a bit of padding to help. Many years ago I had a Phil Read Black Knight that in its day was quite expensive but what a comfortable helmet. It did not have vents all over the place but it was fairly quiet (I did not feel any need to wear ear plugs back in the day). These days I have HJC RPHA 11 Fesk which is a very light helmet. It fits quite well although after 3 hours I am feeling pressure on my forehead. It also has vents that create wind noise at speed but these days I do use ear plugs so overall its very quiet. My thoughts are that a smoother helmet like my old Phil Read and the one Freddie has may be quieter because of less air flow "interruptions".
Check out any Honda motorcycle genuine part catalogue online, every single part for Rune that is not an off the shelve bolt, washer or bearing says "contact" with link to email where price should be. We all know that it means part is unavailable. That bike is not meant for actual usage, any damage to any body panel would be write off by insurers. It's a conversation piece to put behind glass. But what a bike!
Who’s buying second hand helmets though?
Me. Two of my best fitting helmets were bought pre-loved. Problem is nobody is buying the helmets that I bought new and only worn a few times, which I'm guessing is the point you're making.
There could be a preexisting neck injury that the weight of the helmet brings out. Also there is the style of bike that could also be the problem. A cruiser the rider is vertical and the weight is in line with the spine, or a crotch rocket where the rider is leaning out over the gas tank. All factors to consider. (Hi Monika)
Freddie I had a Jawa CZ 175 in the 1980s the bike was unremarkable but bullet proof. The only problems I had with it was the lead nipple on the throttle cable would come off. It was a cheap bike and all I could afford then but I used it for commuting and could barely give it away when I moved on.
Wind noise caused me massive headaches with a new helmet I bought. Now use earplugs, and all good.
Freddie I cannot wear heavy helmets as I have crushed discs in my neck , I used to wear a Nolan flip helmet, but my neck pain got SO bad I didn’t want to ride . I ended up with a Tourtech lightweight ADV helmet “ light weight around 1.4 kg for a large , after wearing it out I got a Airoh carbon helmet ( lasted six weeks had a crash 💥 hit a tree head first so that was the end of it ( and almost me ) Then I wanted to buy the safest helmet I could do I got a Arai - Japanese helmet considered one of the best helmets on the market ( a lot of races use them ) BUT again it was too heavily and told it at a 500 loss and had only worn it a few times . So I now have a Klim Cros Pro , around 1200 AUS dollars, weighs around 1.2kg and no more neck issues.
Freddy, thanks for the helmet reply. I’m going to see if a shop has any to try on with your suggestions
I know others have said it but the priority with a helmet is fit over weight, style and cost. The issue is that you can try a helmet on in a shop and it feels fine but you will only know after a few hours riding in it due to wind drag on the helmet. I think some of the larger outlets will let you try one for a few hours but this is rare. I have had shoei, agv, arai and Hjc all of which have fit but bell, shark and schuberth come no where close. If you go onto the motolegends web site they do a personal fitting service as the only helmets they sell have interchangeable inserts so they can custom fit it to you but the helmets they sell are not cheap. Also not sure how close you are to Guildford.
I love Freddie but in this case he is wrong looking at weight as an issue.
I have been using a scorpion exo tech Evo carbon modular helmet. It's so comfy and light for a full flip back modular.
Tony! A friend of mine cut his long hair( ponytail) off and found his helmet was too big for him after the haircut. So much so he had to buy a new helmet because his old one moved around on his head to much. Maybe your covid hair could be the problem. Haircuts are cheaper than a new helmet.
Imagine describing a camp mat that doesn’t work a bargain. I tell anyone that will listen spend big on mat, sleeping bag and be sure your tent is waterproof. Camping is only fun with the right gear
I’ve just bought my most expensive mat, a big Agnes Rapide XL. It’s turned out to be incredibly comfortable and compact
Fred, do you not think the Jawa looks like the old German OMZ? Have a look and compare
Everytime I see a Jawa I think OMZ..
On the helmet issue, Freddy could be excused as he may be lucky enough not to have bought a helmet that has caused him issues. Helmets may ‘fit’ in the shop but you can only tell after they have been used on the bike for a while due to wind blast and pressure created on the head. Helmet comfort can even vary from bike to bike. My first was a Shoei that caused me issues on the forehead and swore I would never get another and used AGV and Arai for 10 years. A few years ago tried another Shoei and found they fit and now have a Shoei, Arai and HJC. Have tried on Shuberth, Bell and Shark and they just don’t fit me. As suggested by others, go to a retailer who knows what they are doing as many shops are happy to fob you off with something that will cause you grief at a later date.
Recently added the Shoei J Cruise II and off the shelf it was ok. Got offered the Shoei fitting service, which I thought was cobblers but went for it to see.
All I can say is that after less than an hour I now barley feel the helmet on my head. Honestly it fits so well.
We have different shaped heads around the world, Asian diff to western and so on.
All I can offer is go to a helmet specialist, I use Hemet City Oxford, and try all that they have as when you put eh helmet on that is right to you, you will know.
The Shoei Neotech 2/3 is probably the best modular. About 1.8kg and approved for riding open. Sena built in BT as well.
But the weight is not a problem after a while. However, it might be the fit that gives headaches. If it compress in the wrong places.
I agree with most. It's the fit thst causes problems. Plus how it reacts it the wind. Had a helmet that had such bad lift. It would pull the strap so hard and choke me.
Best helmet I've ever owned is a Kabuto Aeroblade3. 1330 grammes. Light and comfortable
Lotsa folks already saying what I came to say. If you must have a flip up, it pretty much (ok, arguably), comes down to the Shoei Neotec vs the Schuberth C5. Go to a good shop that understands helmet fitting and has both in stock, one or the other should be best, depending upon your head shape.
I’d buy an old Jawa like that 1991 that’s UK legal and then strip to the frame and fit all the new bits 😂
there are a couple of Runes for sale in the US, and recently sold on auction sites. $20-30K US, or about 19+K british shillings or whatever. Interesting bike for sure. Need to search up TH-cam and see if anyones ridden one. Hope it has a reverse...
I'm new to biking and I picked up the "Shoei Neotec 3" as the fell was a fantastic fit, after wearing it for around 30min however I felt like I had a brick on my shoulders, why? because I had 0 neck mussels, long story short I got a few headaches but after around 3 to 4 weeks (wearing the helmet around 3 hours a day) my neck mussels had vastly improved, the headaches have gong and it no longer feels like a brick on my shoulders. : )...my point, you prob just need to allow your body to workout and adjust to the new wight. hope that helps.
Ryan Fortnine did a pretty decent retrospective on the Rune a few years ago, which probably didn't help those of us hoping to get a bargain. It's quite a motorcycle, but since everything (well, most of it) is custom, I'd be scared of even getting the paint chipped. Maybe win the lottery and buy two, so you have spare parts?
My lid's weight is fine. But I've a double crown and it's slightly asymetrical. That creates a pressure point that can really hurt after a time. There's no easy way to remedy it, as the internal cover prevents access so as I can sand an area back. I'll not buy a helmet online again.
Weight matters. Along with the helmet viewport position. I have 3 helmets that I cannot wear for more than 20 minutes on my ducatis. Neotech 2 3 and schuberth E1. The viewport is too low in the helmet. A sportbike helmet has the viewport much higher to avoid neck strain and is usually much lighter. My sportbike riding helmet of choice is a full carbon no paint HJC and comes in at around 1050g. My adv, commuting and touring helmets are heavier and thats not an issue as those bikes are more upright and the helmet is supported by the neck better.
I think helmet is much like ski boots (and the only bit of equipment I spend money on and buy my own when skiing), it’s about the fit and not the weight per say. Ski boots can have gel interior, be heat blasted to mould better as your feet change over the years .. getting the fit correct is just as important for a motorcycle helmet.
the lazy stack should get himself to a shop and try on and find a lid that fits correctly and not to heavy as nobody can answer that question but himself, regards getting that Jawa on the road, it would need an SVU test same as custom bikes and low volume bikes have to go through, as for the Rune they did get sold in Europe, obviously limited numbers available and the bike in Portugal could well be someone living thereand cheating the system as regards supposed to register as Portuguese, knows of a few vehicles like that including some from the UK
When is this tuesdays Tuesday at dobbs am i to early ?
Tony should go in to his nearest reputable bike shop and get properly fitted for a helmet. Not everyone fit all helmets, Arai don't fit me at all.
I have a Caberg duke modular helmet . It weighs 1.5 kg. I have found that helmets suit heads. I mean that a helmet which suits one person might not suit another. If you are new to wearing a helmet, the weight will always be noticeable. Going back a long time. I bought a Bell star 2 helmet and I just couldnt get on with it... It made my forhead sore. I had an Arai astra which did the same. I had a shoei helmet and it was perfect I had a new shoei helmet every two years until they changed something ( or I lost my hair) and all of a sudden shoei helmets were no good for me, I then bought a schuberth which suited very well and when the time came to change the Schuberth, the price had increased beyond recognittion and the new model didnt fit the same. Then i tried the Caberg because between the Shoei and the schuberth I bought a Lazer renegade which I found to be very convenient in that because the front would flip, it would fit into my top box very easily with my waterproofs. Caberg Duke helmets suit my head. I am currently using my third . First your helmet has to fit, next it has to be comfortable next is has to test ok, finally look for style and cost. The Sharp site tells us a lot about helmets.
You have a certain shape head. Pressure causes heatache. My head is a shoei, no matter what model. My partner cannot wear most as pressure on forehead point.
Buy a Klim kryos pro helmet. It's lighter than a light thing in light week. It Is expensive but how much do you value your head? Seriously it is superb
I own and ride (otherwise why own it? lol) with an AGV Sportmodular helmet. Yes, it's extremely light weight, but be forewarned.... helmets with 100% CF shells are much louder from wind noise when riding than comparable fiberglass/ carbon fiber blended shells, such as the Shoei Neotec 2/3 or Schuberth C5 for modular helmets. I have added a taller windscreen, which helps greatly, but without the windscreen it sounded like somebody was clapping my ears on the freeway. I also wear Eargasm ear plugs, which are fantastic at reducing the decibel level. If you have to get a carbon fiber helmet, get earplugs or tinnitus, the choice is yours.
BTW, I love the helmet, it looks great and it fits my intermediate oval head shape fine, it's just really loud without a windscreen and/or ear plugs.
I owned a new Jawa 350 and side car outfit in the 80's , nothing special but it was just a plain old good workhorse got me to my work for years through hail and snow 365 days a year, how come it was legal back then but not now ?
It's easy my friend, it's called euro 5 emissions regulation 🤷🏻♂️ two stroke was never very air friendly back in the day, but today they are looked at as mobile poison by the authorities 😜
I have an HJC i91 and I must say it's a wonderful helmet but it was a pain to fit. M was too large on the cheeks, S fits well but the front of the helmet is too close to my face.
I love it but I slightly regret purchasing it TBH.
The Rune is one of the most epic bikes ever made. Full stop.
I have c1-c5 vertibrae damaged due to a fall from a horse which causes me massive headaches. Your viewer should get x-rays done and physio. After years of my neck movement restricted, I can now roll give way signs.
When you factor that 100k riders, give or take, attend the Sturgis rally - the numbers don't seem so outrageous, do they? Drunk/stupid people do drunk/stupid things at home, too. Plenty of folks go every year, manage to have a good time and return both themselves and their bikes back home in one piece. Peace, Freddy!
I’m considering travelling from Ireland to the UK to buy a bike. How trustworthy are sellers on Facebook marketplace? Any tips for a buyer?
check the sellers profile. Is he/she a member of local groups? Do they have lots of friends and posts? Also check out their Marketplace history to see if they are a dealer posing as a civilian
Is this the new clan name " DOBBSTERS " ???? If so just love it !! Whens the mug being launched ??
I like this!😆
I brought a ES2 flip up helmet and I gave up wearing it within a couple of rides. heavy and uncomfortable. Went and brought a simple cheap helmet and hardly know I'm rearing it.
Honda misspelled the "Ruin"...it was a translation hiccup.😀
I doubt very much that the Rune was ridden from Poland. It was probably trailered there. A bike like that is going to be appalling to ride over long distances, they're designed for look, not go.
i'm not like you, I don't judge aengineering excellence on how good the engineering looks, but on how well it performs (form follows function, or function follows form). I also tend to use critical thinking when assessing most things. I do understand the enjoyment gained from owning something special, but the Rune is still, after all, a mass produced machine. It makes you feel good just lo9oking at it (at least, that is the claim). However, I also believe that a motorcycle should do a few things reasonably well, like accelerate, brake and turn on its intended surface. This is why H-Ds fail so miserably, and why I simply cannot think of something like the Rune as a good piece of engineering. At least a Honda Goldwing does those things reasonably well (within its intended performance envelope), I would never, ever have one, but understand those that do.
But the Rune? Can't even say that I understand WTAF it was about other than just another Honda piece of BS, like the NSR750. Both dreadful.
Carbon helmets are good but I can't wear my HJC much because the exhaust booms inside, making it unbearably loud even with earplugs. Although I love the looks I use my 1650g AVG modular more. Also, the padding in AGV helmets is annoying if you are trying to route a cardo/microphone.
In your opinion, what are the 3 best Jet helmets today?
The ones that fit your head best!

Hi there,
First of all Thnaks for your reply!
I know that, but I need some Brands and models, please.

Honda Rune: Check its weight before you buy it...
If you new to motor biking your muscles might need to grow to cope up with the weight of helmet. Give it another week, you may adopt.😊
can't bring myself to say wah wah instead of jowl wah
The guy with the helmet problem, its almost certainly the fit rather than the weight. If a helmet is too heavy for you it normally shows up as neck problems. The headaches he is describing usually associated with pressure points. Stop buying online, go to a dealer that can help get you the correct fit.
Put a used helmet on Marketplace? Would people actually buy an used helmet? Not even concerned about hygiene or that it's a product with an expiry date, it's just it'd be hard to verify if the helmet has ever been dropped and it's internally damaged. Sure there should be marks on the outer shell, but honestly I don't see helmets as a product that one should buy used.
Very fair point 👍🏻
That’s a $100000 profit for the buyer 😅
Ps, I can tell you that Honda struggle to make a profit on their small to mid range cars Thats what I was told ! So bike wont be much different
4:01 Sorry, did you just say £700 helmet? !!!!!!!!!!!
More common than common sense would allow. Just an example check Hedon's full face or Schuberth. The former is more for looks, the latter is just one of top of the line helmets. And their C5 Carbon is over £1000. Nevermind you should replace an helmet about every five years
@@aromaticsnail🤪 some of my bikes aren’t that valuable!
Is it really that common for Harley riders to simply not wear helmets? I'm a little stunned that someone could make it to the ages in the fatality reports and ride bikes all that time and have nae lid. I've always wanted a new Harley and if ever I make the ludicrous cash to ever afford one i'll be wearing full gear.
As the hundred other comments mentioned, it's the fit, not the weight. I had a "hotspot" on the top of my head with a new HJC helmet that caused headaches after about 1 hour.
To fix the issue I got a billiard ball, and rolled/compressed the foam slightly in that area. It worked extremely well and the helmet became wearable again.
Not a great idea in my view. That just damages the inner which is part of the helmet's protection, making it less effective. Just get a proper helmet fitting when buying it.
Buy a 1980s jawa frame, I'll be registered. Transfer all parts from the new bike to the old frame....resulting in a 80s registered 2sroke.
Clever.... But given the cost of the original bike and then adding the cost of the old frame it's getting to the point of not worth it for what it is, plus could it not cause issues with the insurance 🤔
Oh I agree it's a terrible investment but some people are wonderfully weird.
Dont buy SHARK ..!!! Bad bad helmets ( price , shell , costumer service ) .
The Street Triple 675 has 105hp compared to the Speed Twin's 95hp, so they didn't swap for a less powerful bike!
Honestly Freddie I wouldn't be trusting my head in that helmet of yours, it looks very basic and I don't imagine it has anything like the protection of a Shoei or Arai....
he might not have a right fitting helmet ... I am shocking when wearing a helmet anyway at speed it pushes on forehead ... and annoys I must put some foam in oneday
Get rid of all modular helmets. So dorky!
I am a dork. I love the different technology it offers and sometimes the flip up is what I need
In your opinion 😏
@kevindarkstar Hate to break it to you mate, but modular helmets being dorky is an objective fact at this point 🤣

Come on guys, use your common sense when choosing a helmet…..go into a store that sells several makes and try several on before deciding which is most comfortable for you.
It isn't the weight of the helmet, its the fit. . Buying a carbon fibre helmet in itself isn't going to help if its still the wrong fit FFS. Poor advice.
Stupid rules for motorcycle . Euro 5 should never be applied ….
Come on, why you even discussing the helmet weight, are you short of topics.
These Triumph Street Triples will never be classics because the Headlights age like warm milk.
They look so absolutely ugly and every modell update gets worse and worse.
