Really this to me was a great moment from this movie. It challenged the church by implying that Jesus didn't die a virgin but was in a relationship with Madeline and they both conceive a child together from it.
One of the most underrated films of all time.

The holy grail is often said to be the cup Jesus used at the last supper and is depicted as an ornate, bejeweled goblet. But it seems the biblical Jesus is the last person who would be using an ornate, bejeweled goblet.
In the 3rd Indiana Jones movie, the Holy Grail is a small and simple clay cup.

This Is Robert Langdon’s First Film With Tom Hanks Based On The Popular Book Series By Dan Brown.
Honestly, say whatever you will about this film. But damn if Sir Ian wasn't just absolutely spectacular. His command of every scene he was in was just incredible.

What it would devastate is patriarchy. As modern patriarchy model themselves on the euro Christian tradition in the post pagan world.

Any Christian who may have their faith shaken by this clip, know that this is merely entertainment, a work of fiction. Claims made in here are easily disproven through looking at Church history.
1. Council of Nicaea had nothing to do with canonizing books of the Bible. That council took place in 325 AD and the council that actually canonized the books of the Bible, the Council of Rome, was held in 383 AD, near 60 years after. So the council of Nicaea wouldn't have been able to take any books out of the Bible since there was no Bible in 325 AD.
2. The 'gospels' of Phillip and Mary are proven to be forgeries. Written years after the martyrdom of both Phillip and Mary. Same with other supposed 'gospels' such as Thomas and Barnabas.
How ironic that if this scene were contemporary in 2023, the mentally ill in this country would be offended at 'quite literally this ancient symbol of womanhood'. 😅
