    Everywhere I see dragon fruit in the wild it is always growing wild on the trunk and branches of huge trees.

    • @LorezaKabuhayan
      @LorezaKabuhayan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is true. In the wild, however, they tend to climb up higher and higher producing more branches than fruits. Farming limits their growth, but allows them to produce more fruits than unnecessary branches.

      Just like other living things, dragon fruit plant is programmed to grow and multiply. Now, there are two ways dragon fruit can multiply. Dragon fruit can be propagated either by stem cuttings or by seeds. When left by itself, dragon fruit chooses the quicker and easier way of propagation. That is, by growing more stems and expanding, crawling, and migrating. When planted in a pot and left alone, it can actually crawl away and scape the pot. The part that remains in the pot would eventually die, but the branch that has grown outside the pot will continue to grow and find a tree it can climb on. From there, it will continue to grow. It will grow bigger and bigger. One thing you would notice though is that it produces more stems in the wild than fruits. They rarely produce fruits in the wild.

    Can you suggest how much of NPK 19 19 19 I should use if I give it through drip irrigation?

      The rate of application would be 0.63 ounce per plant monthly starting in the second month up to first year of planting. From second to third year, apply 1 ounce per plant monthly. From the fourth year onwards, apply 1.25 to 2 ounces per plant monthly. The amount of water to mix the said amounts of fertilizer with could vary depending on soil conditions (dry or wet). You may want to watch our other video, "How Often Should You Water Your Dragon Fruit". Too much watering could harm your dragon fruit plants. In wet months, you need to use less amount of water to mix with the recommended amount of fertilizer. I hope this helps. Hello, you specified the N-P-K amount by ounce or grams, but I have only fluid N-P-K, so how much liters of it should I use? This is a little confusing, please kindly explain. For example, to use 6-6-6 N-P-K for one dragon plant, the table shows 55 grams >> This equals how much liters of NPK fluid to be added to how much water?

    • @LorezaKabuhayan
      @LorezaKabuhayan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use ratio and proportion when determining the equivalent amount of fertilizer. N-P-K stands for the percentages by weight of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium respectively. For example, 55 grams of 6-6-6 is equivalent to 27.5 grans of 12-12-12. You have to look at the N-P-K value of your liquid fertilizer and calculate the equivalent amount of fertilizer. Remember, 1 liter of water is exactly 1000 grams. Again, just use ratio and proportion.

      If you are using a 6-6-6 fertilizer, apply 3 ounces (85 grams) per plant, monthly during the growing season of the second year.
