As a cactus, dragon fruit can withstand dry periods, but needs more water than other succulent varieties. In the summer months, it requires a deep watering three times a week. Decrease this amount in winter to once a week or once every ten days. Allow the dragon fruit to dry in between waterings, as it will die if it gets too much water during the winter months. Only water when temperatures are above freezing.
preventing extreme temperature changes in the soil. Put down a 2- to 3-inch layer of bark or wood chip mulch around the plant, keeping it 8 to 12 inches away from the base. This will protect the roots in case of frost.
Most dragon fruit plants will make it through the winter months without a problem, as long as they are planted in USDA plant hardiness zones 10a through 11. If the weather forecast has a multi-day frost prediction, however, you may want to build a shelter for your dragon fruit. For a quick solution, stretch a piece of burlap across some stakes.

First of all... I live in tropical climate. Dragon fruit love warm and hot weather and it grow well and faster here.
Make sure your dragon fruit cutting receive sunlight about 6 hours or more everyday . Don't let the soil dry. Water it twice in a week. Give them fertilizer high in nitrogen once in a month. You can use any type of fertilizer.
      hope its help.
