The fact they made Ken the most relatable character in the entire movie really saved Barbie for me. Walking out of the theater my initial reaction was complete revulsion at the over the top misandrist ranting in this movie. But days later I caught myself over and over again thinking about Ken, his struggles, how I related to his pain and lonliness. And that movie happened to give the best musical number to Ken as well. So I've changed my mind about the movie, it's not all bad, I fucking love Ken lmao.

The most important thing to understand about barbie, is that it doesnt have a coherent message. The movie just throws around enough themes that you can find the message you are looking for.
