Truck driver here: to all of u saying trucks shouldnt be in left lane i have 2 points
1: cant say for this video but many construction zones tell trucks to BE in the left lane. It keeps us from having to slow down or make dangerous lane changes when vehicles are merging onto highway
2: traffic would slow even further if too many trucks stayed in right lane. Trucks would be forced to slow down for vehicle ahead, try to get over (which would take forever because no one ever wants to let trucks over), truck speed would be reduced by the time he changes lanes which means the left lane is now equal speed of right lane.
I dont expect people who dont know anything about trucks to understand, but take it from a 17 year veteran, there are probably more people driving regular cars that dont know how to drive or follow traffic etiquette than there are truckers
Edit: actually 3 points....most trucks have a limiter as to how fast they travel. The complaints are probably about the trucks that can only travel 65mph (which should be fast enough in a construction zone) that are in left lane. But even still that truck has a right to pass a vehicle who is driving even slower even if it takes a little more time than you would like

Some worksites require semi trucks and busses to drive in the left lane unless entering or exiting the highway. Pennsylvania's I76 worksite is currently doing this. When they shift the drive lanes over, it's not always safe for heavy vehicles to drive on what would normally be the shoulder.

Construction zone. Trucks surrounded by impatient zoomies, are more dangerous changing lanes multiple times in short order, than staying put for that one mile. As seen if you actually watch it more than ten seconds before your reply…

In many construction zones in many states there are signs telling trucks and busses to use the left lane, sometimes only.

I also am from Pennsylvania and therefore has run the PA turnpike countless times in my life. I live just west of Philadelphia in a town called Media and love this roadway. I've been to Pittsburgh years ago with my family and traveled through the area of the police chase a few days ago. The drive through those scenic areas is a very nice one too. The PA turnpike mainline is actually my favorite highway in the state!!!!

@illuminerd3757 not even close. Their widening the entire road to 3 lanes. Ohio line to philly where its already that wide. Doing it section by section. Its probably gonna be 15 or 20 til its completely done. They literally have to move mountains. Its been 2 years for a 10 mile stretch. And they have like 260 to go. Not sure what their gonna do with the tunnels tho

It has to be impossible to can do in general given how long that would take, and especially with the tunnels they could never do anything with that. It’s the way it is there with not enough space for more than two lanes, and completely impossible. So, it doesn’t make really any real sense to do construction for that type of project.

Had one in a Georgia construction zone in the wee hours one night years ago. I was doing the speed limit when some moron blew my doors off. Before he got out of sight I saw a county mounty in the middle. A minute later just before he blew my doors off I blinked my markers. Just after the end of the construction guess who was on the shoulder having a conversation?
