- It was an all-girls cruise vacation aboard the Carnival Liberty when disaster struck. Samantha Broberg, 33, climbed a rail on a 10th-floor deck around 2 a.m. while the ship was sailing in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship's thermal imaging camera captured the moment when she suddenly fell backwards and plunged into the water. Her body was never found. Back home in Arlington, Texas, Broberg’s daughters still fight back tears remembering their mom, more than two years after the accident. #InsideEdition

Drunk af perhaps. And reportedly so was she. My guess is they both went outside for a passionate make out session, he pressed her against the edge, she fell, he could not realize what had just happened or was too out of if to react appropriately and walked away.

It was make grieving her death a LOT easier. It reminds me of my friend stacy who was devastated when her BF got killed in a snowmobile accident, couple days later she went through his phone and found out he was cheating on her the entire time. Let’s just say it didn’t take her long to “move on” after that xD

It's hard to really see what's in that weird footage ; it's possible he may have even pushed her over without hardly moving or exerting any effort.... the guy should have gotten prosecuted .

I'd say she had no chance of staying above the surface and it ended quite quickly.
Hopefully the impact from falling that high knocked her out and she didn't suffer at all.

I thought when this story broke out last year that she was intoxicated and wanted to walk to the top deck to cool off.
When you're on a trip together you should all turn in at the same time. I've heard so many stories of people going out with friends but not leaving together and something awful happens. Stick together people. Especially women.

If you've ever taken a cruise, then you know it's virtually impossible to just "fall off" a cruise ship. Either you were thrown off, jumped off, or doing something stupid like climbing over a railing.

I think they have a certain duty of care though. You can't serve 20 odd drinks to someone and expect them to know what they're doing. They should have refused to serve her once they realised how badly intoxicated she was becoming.

I feel for her husband, especially the fact that he got cheated on. But man is delusional and that lawsuit won't go anywhere. It's no one's fault but her own. She's a grown woman and made the decision to have all those drinks. The cruise line didn't force drinks down her throat nor is it their job to babysit grown adults.

I just got my ABC serving certification, one of the top server rules is NEVER serve an already intoxicated person. It's also just common sense. Money is NEVER a reason to jeopardize someone's life and safety.
Time for grown adults to take responsibility for their own actions. Everyone just wants to blame others when something tragic happens to someone they love. This woman made very poor choices & died because of it. It's very sad.

There's a law that says the establishment holds a certain amount of liability if they knowingly over serve a guest and that person ends up dead or injured or hurts somebody else, which is a good thing, because if they can't get sued for doing it then they'll over serve everybody just for the money and wayyy more deaths would happen.
