Sarsilmaz has always been a winner for me , Thanks for reviewing the sar9 compact and looking forward to see the sar9 gen 2 . That gun will be a winner.
I just bought one of these from Palmetto State Armory for $250, with a $30 rebate ( $220 final cost ! ) and was blown away by the quality and the accuracy of this pistol ! The machining on it is every bit as good as my Springfield XD9. I shot a 3 in group with the first 3 shots, right out of the box at 15 yards. It comes with two 17 round mags, changeable grip panels, cleaning equipment, and a hard case, all for about the same price as a Hi Point ! The newer ones like I have, are equipped with a ambi saftey, which is nice ! SAR is fairly new in this country, most people ( including me ) have not heard of them. Once SAR establishes a reputation for quality in the United States, I'll bet these handguns will cost as much or more than Glocks or HK's. And no, I do not work for Palmetto, or SAR, I am just a shooter giving you my opinion.
Love mine, I don't have that much through it but the 500 rounds or so I have fired are amazing. This thing is accurate and VERY comfortable, I thought I was missing but I was just putting them in the same whole over and over again at 7 yards. I almost won a shooting competition for the gun which is why I ended up buying one...LOL
An outstanding well done review, as usual. I am a Canik fan, but also became a SAR 9 admirer, which it means: I will get me one, eventually. The SAR 9 is crossbreed pistol from the right platforms. The H&K VP9 influence is notable, as the Walther P99 is on Canik. Keep on rollin' brotha'! 💪🏼😎🇺🇲
I was turned on to Sarsilmaz through their CZ75 clones the B6P. Was thoroughly impressed with how accurate and well put together it was. Bought 2 more after that. $250 can't beat it. When I saw the SAR9 I had to give it a shot. Man what a soft, flat shooting gun. Trigger on mine has very little take up and a crisp break. Once people catch on to these the price will go up just like the Canik.
Just an FYI, but 9mm NATO is spec'd at 36,500 PSI by the same European CIP standard as the 5.56mm NATO. It is an entirely different test method than the method used by SAAMI in the US. 9mm NATO is more likely to be loaded near the Maximum Average Pressure, or MAP, than most standard 9 x 19mm made in the US where the pressure standard is 35,000 PSI and 38,500 PSI for +P, which IS 10% higher than standard. Keep in mind however that somewhere around 1990, SAAMI lowered 9 x 19mm pressure from 35,700 Copper Units of Pressure, or CUP, as SAAMI converted to PSI testing. While SAAMI and CIP both measure in PSI, they go about it in 2 completely different ways. CIP also measures in BARs as well as SI Pascal units. About the only thing the SAAMI change accomplished is shorter overall rounds and lighter loads. The original 35,700 CUP value and today's 9mm +P at 38,500 PSI are little different when they're tested by the same exact method. Also note that when SAAMI lowered pressure to 35,000 PSI, the resulting value from the older Crusher method became 33,000 CUP. Paranoia about shooting 9mm +P in quality made pistols is basically unfounded except that today's pistols typically have lighetr recoil springs. The fact that SARz makes and tests their pistols for 9mm NATO is a plus.
@@GBGuns Maybe if 9mm +P could achieve the factory spec. It rarely does over my chronograph. Not from 4.5" barrels and certainly not from 4" barrels which is the barrel length the manufacturers typically use for their test barrels. Underwood's, Double-Tap and Buffalo Bore load closer to the MAP rating for Standard or +P.

Nice review on the _SAR 9C._ All the Turkish handguns are built to NATO standards so they may be stiffer in the beginning. There's either a break-in period, ideally with hotter ammo, or you can store the gun locked back for a few days or weeks and that should make the spring less rigid. P.S. Would be cool to see if you can get your hands on the Sar _ST9-SS_ and the _SAR 9X_ in the near future.

Beyond the low-entry world of digita,l where the consumer often has little idea if the media source has any validity, there is print. In magazines the author has been vetted and selected by senior professionals who then assign or approve the concept of an article before work is begun. The writer then spends months putting his/her story together before it is proofed and checked by multiple professionals before finally going to print in a physical magazine. The process is much slower than digital, but is one of the only ways you the consumer can get solid information about something that has been vetted and checked. On the other end of the spectrum is TH-cam and websites which require little more than money for someone to appear professional.
