SAR Has been making firearms since the 1880s. They also meet NATO standards and are designed to do so. It's a 5th generation family owned company that has state of the art manufacturing processes. I own the firearm you tested, their CZ75 clone & one of their SR38 .357 revolvers. All are very well made & accurate. Good review and I hope this helps some to realize that some of these "budget" guns are very good alternatives for people that can't afford to spend big money for a good firearm.
These SAR9s have always peaked my interest but have never fired one yet. I love budget guns and Canik pistols are my favorite in the budget gun category. The SAR9 seems like a HK VP9 clone, kinda like the Canik TP9s are Walther P99 clones. Same basic design with a few differences that you’d expect with a pistol that’s priced at less than 1/2 the cost of the gun that inspired it. I’m sure that it doesn’t have a Polygonal rifled barrel, or a nitrocarburized finish like the VP9. However, the reliability seems rock solid and it doesn’t seem to be lacking in accuracy. It just goes to show that we are currently living in a “golden age” of firearms where solid reliability is now the norm and anything else added to reliability is just icing on the cake. So watch out, Glock. Brand name recognition is the only thing that’ll save you now.

The trigger and spring kit by Galloway makes it a bit smoother. Takes about a 1 pound off the trigger and you’d really only need to change the springs.

@@mystichollow8484 Sig P320 mags specifically, yes. They use the exact same magazines, the sar9's mags just have the catch cutouts done a bit higher than they normally are on p320 mags.
FMK is a very good budget 9mm. I bought mine about a year ago and it is very similar to the glock19 but with a better grip I gave 280$ but I believe you can get them for around 180$ to 200$ now. FMK gen2
The point of the SAR9 is that it's got a ton of features out of the box that Glock is missing so you don't even have to really bother with the aftermarket. That includes the SAR9 being rated for +P+ and sporting a lower bore axis with rifling specially made to get more accuracy out of lead cast bullets.
@@GUNMOFO5 I was comparing dagger not glop but since you brought it up.. what features are you referring too? I don't see a low bore here like on H9 or alien has so unless your talking about a millimeter here or there. Which does not matter for a budget gun. Now you can buy the dagger for 99 complete lower and upper 179 which has rmr cut and night sites .. so again in budget realm I'm not seeing how this is a value over the dagger.
@@MrMrsMGTow it's a good bit lower when compared to a Glock 17 as well as a more natural grip angle, customizable grip and a higher grip purchase. the recoil going straight back into your hand will have you noticing minimal muzzle flip. Also I don't see the point in buying a handgun if I'm just going to change everything about it, especially if I'm going be using it as my EDC. They make these things in a state of the art facility, the build quality felt with the gun in hand makes that very obvious. (Did I also mention it's made to be used with high pressure +P regularly as well as able to handle +P+ loads?) But if we're talking rifles like an AR? That's a different story. All that being said, I can try to convince you till I'm blue in the face- it's better if you go try one of these out and see for yourself

In my area it's about $350 and price on the Sar 9 has slowing going up. Mines doesn't like cheap or low power ammo and functions best with +P ammo.

It basically uses sig Sauer mags, the only difference being where cuts for the mag catch were made.

Just spend another few bucks and get a Dagger. Its meant to be a budget starter pistol that's compatible with glock parts.

I have one and I think that's the only big flaw with it. I may try to use my Dremel tool to gently remove it, if possible
