I am new to this Overdraft stuff. Say, If I availed a loan of 10L out of Gold OD, I am supposed to pay interest of 70000/year (5900/month). Say if the tenure of the loan is 5 years, within 5 years I am paying 350000 as interest to Bank. So what will happen at the end of the loan tenure (5 years), will I get my gold back? If yes, how will Bank make profit out of it since they gave me 10L which I spent already for my car purchase and now they got 3.5L only. Kindly help in clarifying.
U r giving only the intrest for 10 lakh. At the end of 5 years u have to give back 10 lakh to get ur gold back.or u can put back some additional amount every month, so the intrest also will get reduced and the loan amount comes down.(the intrest is taken only for the balance loan amount)

Gold OD will carry simillar interest as u pay now. Between 7 and 7.5%. So i dont think u will benefit. All u will end up doing is transfer one liability into another.
Best option would be to add atleast 10% extra every month to ur emi. U will end up closing ur loan faster.
