I have watched many videos about the self-binding baby blanket. You are the first to mention the 'warp and weft' of fabrics and the better wear they receive from matching the fabrics. Thank you for that! Also, you're the first I've seen to mention pressing the blanket once the fabrics are put together before sewing the corners. Truly makes a ton of difference. The you for your videos!
I agree - I watched a couple of these self binding blanket tutorials and this one was truly the most informative and easiest to follow. Thank you for this video!!
WOW!! Thank you. I went out bought material just to try this out. Came home watch again, and again, ok I watched 4 times. I was so afraid I would get it wrong that I basted it in first. It beautiful. Wish I could show you. Thank you so much.😊 ❤
Thank you so much, Michele! 😊 I’m thrilled you gave it a try, and I bet it turned out beautifully! ❤️ It means so much to hear how much you enjoyed the process-wish I could see it too! ✂️🎉

I really appreciate the way you explained step by step, and also the reasoning behind each step. I'm anxious to try your method and I'm confident I will succeed after watching your video. Thank you!
January 31 2024 Maryland USA: Just popped in on your channel and so enjoying this one for a quick gift I need this weekend. How wonderful that you are donating to a great cause. My grandson when he was only two months old received the most precious quilt with baseball theme’s. His stay was difficult but the blanket become his favorite. As a teenager we still have it. Thank you for your time in this video, the positioning of your camera is excellent as if I were standing right there.
This is the best explanation and tutorial I've found on the mitered baby blanket (and I've watched a lot!)...thank you for being so detailed and patient. I'll be coming back to this one often, as well as your other tutorials.
I just want to say your Donation Drive is a wonderful initiative. As an adopted person who did myself spend time in Foster Care before adoption I am one hundred percent in support of this worthwhile and kind initiative. Now to your video this was very nice, and your instructions and explanations were both reassuring and informative. I did originally make this blanket about a year ago in flannel just after I started to learn to sew. Cutting and measuring are key to end result as well as pressing. I then made it using Minky which was challenging but for a first time sewer it did turn out okay. Now with a year of sewing under my belt and far more experience in cutting fabric and being mindful of sewing on your lines and measuring I going to make more of them for my new Grandbaby coming this fall. Thank you again for giving me the confidence to just go for it. A huge supporter of your video and initiative from the Rocky Mountains of Canada.
That’s so awesome Marie 🤗 Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this message telling me about your childhood and your sewing journey! It makes me happy to know that you like this initiative ❤️
I made my first self binding baby blanket yesterday and I am obsessed! Your instructions were perfect!!! I had no issues at all making a beautiful baby blanket for a great-niece coming in September!
You have the BEST videos. With other sewing videos little details are left out and I always have questions. So I end up watchin many videos on each item I want to make. Your videos cover ever detail and beautifully balance giving enough details but not make a video long and boring. Thank you so much!!
I would be delighted if you joined me in creating a beautiful quilt or blanket to donate to Comfort Cases in honor of National Foster Care Month this May. Not only will you feel great about contributing to a worthy cause, but there are also some fantastic prizes up for grabs for participants. THANK YOU. You are a great teacher because you explain plainly and calmly. I enjoyed this video so much. I am going to try to make a quilt with your directions.
I want to commend you on how you go over every step. I’m a beginner and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone explain every detail like you did. I really liked the way you’re so neat, and precise. You made it seem so easy. I’m looking forward to making my niece a baby blanket for her new baby! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I will definitely be watching your other videos!
Enjoyed the tutorial. I have made these and I donated mine to the church. My trick to line up the sides according to the center is to use the scissors to make little slits or triangles in the center. It's easier to pin and the middles are pinned neatly together. It's easier to find the middles if there was a mistake. They are useful, even after the baby is bigger. They are useful for nursing mothers as a shawl and can be worn as a shawl. I normally use different coloured fabric with different designs. It's such a cosy and warm gift. Happy sewing.
That's such a thoughtful idea, Joyce! Donating them to the church. 😊 I love your trick with the slits-great tip! Thanks for sharing, and happy sewing! 🌟
Wow! Thanks for the step by step instructions!! I made a play mat for my grand daughter and it turned out adorable ❤ also, I love listening to your voice, the accent is beautiful 😊
I love how you explained in detail especially the corners..I am a great grama and I plan to sew a couple of baby blankets for my great grandson for Christmas ..Thank you☺️
You are perfect a teaching this and the little blankets are precious. I am a new sewer and am also about to become a grandmother next month. I recently bought a bunch of Omnigrid rulers at a flea market. One is 20 1/2 sq. and one is 15 1/2 square. I hope I can use these since my entire work space is only my dining room table. Thank you again!!!
I watched several how to make this baby blanket and yours was the best! You took me step by step and showed what it was super to look like and that made all the difference for me. You are a great teacher! Thank you so much!

Such a delight to watch and follow your direction. Thank you for taking the time to share with others like me who appreciate good instruction and demonstrations. I loved it!

Thank you so much Stacey, I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and unique baby blanket. I love the idea of stitching 🧵 each side of the mitre which finishes it off perfectly. And the pressing is so very very important, and it makes the whole blanket look so very professional and it’s something I learnt when I was a green sewer and I’ve never forgotten it. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤ I’ve got two Juki machines and I really like the look of that foot.

Love your tutorials. Would you happen to have a video on making comfort blankets for Hospice patients??? I know you could take these baby tutorials and just make them bigger, but I’m more of a visual learner. Thank you so much for your donation of your TIME in making these videos. God Bless.

Video was very well done and explained, thank you! I’ve made many of these, and for the summer, I make them in just a nice soft cotton. In the winter, i use flannelette!
And sometimes, I mix and match the fabrics, flannel and cotton!
Thanks so much Sue! Yes cotton would be lovely for summer 🤗
Thank you! Will try to make a blanket!
