Believe it or not, there's no change, even to this day. I'm continuing to use 1-4. I'm sure it's worn bearings or a sloppy rebuild that led to these issues, but luckily they have plateaued and not changed. I recently purchased the socket for 5th gear and a 3/4'' torque wrench, so possibly over next summer I will dig into it. I'm leaning towards switching to an automatic truck, but this certainly needs fixed before I move forward with that.
Under certain circumstances. For example, if I was driving down a long grade using engine braking in 5th, after about a half mile it would pop out. It was more likely to pop out if I was accelerating, decelerating, accelerating, decelerating, etc. Decelerating as in letting off the throttle but not shifting to neutral, using the engine for braking. Other symptoms: Noisy shifter in 5th (vibrating when holding the knob), sometimes difficult to shift to 5th (takes longer than other gears), and breaking the c-clip shown at end of video every 3-5k miles.

What were the symptoms? Would it pop out of 5th gear when you let off the gas?
