I Ate the Same Thing Every Day for a Month - Keto Diet and Intermittent Fasting Results (OMAD) 2021

  • I wanted to see what would happen if I ate the same thing every day for 1 month; the same keto diet meal combined with intermittent fasting; or rather, the same daily keto meal with OMAD - One Meal A Day. Would I get sick of it? Would the weight loss and fat loss results be worth it? In this video, I share that experience!

    ARE YOU STRUGGLING TO STICK WITH YOUR DIET? I welcome to you watch this short video: • How to ACTUALLY stick ...
    I believe the clean and healthy version of the ketogenic diet, combined with intermittent fasting, or even OMAD (one meal a day), is the most long-term sustainable way of eating for me, and in my opinion, the only diet option for anyone with insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, or type 2 diabetes (obviously consult with your doctor first). In this video though, a large part of the motivation to do this 1 month keto diet challenge was to investigate and validate (or invalidate) preconceived notions, like how we assume it's impossible to eat the same thing every day.
    Throughout our weight loss journey, when we seek answers, Diet and weight loss motivation is often blind lip-service with inspirational music as a backdrop, but I much prefer actionable steps to succeed. Even if my particular suggestions that have worked for me don't jive with you, I'm confident the underlying reasons are ubiquitous, and my hope is that by clearly understanding the root causes (as opposed to just the symptoms), you'll be primed to figure out your continuity plan that works for you!

    I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2020 with fasting sugar level at 455. Did all kind of diet and workouts but fasting sugar level never came down below 100. Since past 1 month , I am on keto+OMAD and day before I tested my fasting sugar and it came down to 77. I am full of energy all day and don't feel like snacking at all. I am off medications now. ❤️

    • @MauriceMoves
      @MauriceMoves  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      The perceived necessity of variety is something I struggled deeply with for the longest time. If you think you might want to give it a go, I would love to recommend that you take some detailed measurements, and just commit to trying this "same thing everyday" for just *one week*. One week is a lot less daunting than an entire month, but, after experimenting with one week, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the change in measurements from just one week, at which point, you can decide if the lack of variety is worth the trade-off in results!

      @SuperZELDAK 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Absolutely agree. Unfortunately most the ‘weight’ he lost would have been loss of muscle and liver glycogen and water retention in the body. Each gram of muscle glycogen retains 4g of water. 800g of muscle glycogen between muscles and liver holding 4g of water weight = 3.2kg of weight loss (7.005lbs).

    • @SirNyanPanda
      @SirNyanPanda 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      He lost ridiculously small amount of weight i must say. Considering that keto makes you lose 10 pounds in the first week of water weight alone. I know there were his water weight percentage numbers, but i struggle to trust them as they go against typical keto experience.

      it's not the *quantity* of the calories, it's the *quality.* If he ate 1500 kcal of sugary items for e.g., he would still lose weight, but he absolutely would not be healthy and still would be extremely hungry, not satiated. The method he is using, ketogenic, overall produces life changing, long lasting benefits. It's not just about losing weight. It's about being healthy.

      Also with salads over the last 5 days I’ve actually sort of found what I’m into. I don’t like cold food. But after I realised that warm salads are a thing my comfort food cravings stopped. I steam my veg, chicken breast, mixed veg, mushrooms , lentils, spinach (in place of lettuce leaves).... as long as it’s warm I’m ok.

    Good work. I've done keto and IF for 3 years. I lost 120lb, the majority of it in the first year. However I swap my macros around to prioritise protein over fat (120g protein, 80g fat, under 20 carbs) people fear gluconeogenesis but your body will only do this when needed. It's great for preserving lean muscle mass.

    • @MauriceMoves
      @MauriceMoves  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing so much detail about your protocol; I feel like I definitely need to start increasing protein and reducing fat; specifically like you said, to maintain lean muscle mass. Really appreciate your macro breakdown. 🙏 If you don't mind, what is your height and current weight under your 120gP, 80gF,

    20:4 keto works for me too. Its been a bit harder since I started strength training 6d/wk. Most days OMAD works if protein and fat are good. Macros matter. Lower fat keto is not sustainable for me. I need the higher fat for some reason. Beef on big salads keeps me full the best.

    I'm considering the potential food option benefits of eating a similar meal per day similar to what is referenced in I Ate The Same Thing Every Day For A Month via the Maurice Moves youtube channel for multiple practical reasons (especially the tempting benefit of how much time and money would get saved). I am happy I found this encouraging and intensive detailed video especially when the youtube author shared both a visual of their meal and the astounding results after just a month of utilizing the plan.
