The Kingdom's peaceful world has been shattered! The wizard, while mixing potions with his magical gloves has caused a huge blast, turning him instantly to stone and dislodging the seven crystals that give the Kingdom its energy. Without the crystals, the castle and its world will fall apart and the wizard will be lost!
It's down to Glover, one of the magical gloves, to find the crystals, now disguised as rubber balls and return them safely to the castle. Guide Glover and the balls through seven magical worlds full of puzzles and hidden surprises. Watch out! The evil glove is lurking in the shadows, and he'll stop at nothing to foil Glover's attempts at restoring peace.

I am kind of surprised when he said that people love to hate on Glover. I have never heard anyone say overly negative about it. Most people I have heard talk about seem to say that, while not the best, Glover is a pretty enjoyable game. It is interesting how people seem to live in different spheres.

I remember this game going from 'kinda frustrating' to genuinely 'pretty fun' the moment I turned off the setting that reversed your controls when you stood on top of the ball. That one change alone made ALL THE DIFFERENCE for me, turning Glover from an exercise in frustration to a moderately enjoyable experience.
If Jirard never made that change in the settings then it's no wonder the controls frustrated him.

To be fair, most N64 games controlled like a greased cannonball. A lot of people our age are inundated with nostalgia when it comes to the old grey box but those controllers were absolute trash when it came to finesse movements.

I do believe Jirard is the first G-Fuel sponsor person I know who has actively explained what the hell G-Fuel even is. Angry Joe has been sponsored by them many times, and I still had no idea what it actually was. Even Google wasn't much help. But here we have Jirard, within the first 20 seconds, loud and clear, explaining "it's a supplement that you mix in with your drink". Thank you, that's all I wanted to know! Did Joe just assume that everyone already knew that? I mean I could probably look at the packaging and put 2 and 2 together, but even then, selling a product means that YOU are responsible for 110% clearly communicating what EXACTLY it is you sell, even including "common sense" details so that even dimwits like me understand what you are selling.

A blast from my past! This was one of the first video games I ever played (I grew up on an N64 and played “Goldeneye 007”, “Glover”, “Pokémon Stadium one” and “Pokémon Snap” I can’t remember which among them was my first).

I had to stay in a hospital when I was just old enough to start remembering things. I know now that there was an n64 in the room and the game I was playing was Glover, but before I figured it out, all I remembered was that hellscape of a hub world

This was such a fantastic game! It may not be the easiest at first, but it has so many clever mechanics. It's a journey, and an experience to beat this title for sure. I dont think this is a bad game personally, it's just misunderstood. I appreciate the art style, the music, sound effects, puzzles, and the overall story and mechanics are just genius, and have not been used again since. It IS a hard game but hard does not equal bad.

Me and my cousins played Glover a lot actually... We kept challenging each other to actually beat ONE area, and I don't think we ever managed it before we got hooked on Super Smash Bros and the multiplayer in Conker's Bad Furday~ XD
So yeah. I have a weird perverse fondness for it but even I went 'Oh no he completed Glover?!' the moment I saw this vid title XDDD You're a brave good soul - thank you for finally revealing for me that the rest of the game exists. I always wondered. XD

I remember having this as a kid and I just never got too far into it. So when I saw this video I had to watch. Turns out there might have been a reason why child me never finished this game as a kid
It's really good that it's on steam for those who loved it as a kid. Most games will have someone who has deep nostalgia for it. So I am happy for them. I just wish some of the games from my childhood would be gotten on modern systems

I remember renting this from my local video store, playing it for 30 minutes, begging my mother to be able to go back because my store, like others I imagine, had a trade-in if you were not happy with the rental by the end of the first day, the store had 3 and 5 day rental periods on video games. She relented and I went back and rented Super Mario 64 instead. I hadn't played it at that point although it had been out for over a year or so. I always felt I made the right choice.

My brothers and I loved Glover. We never owned it. We would rent it from the local Hollywood Video. However we were little and never got far.
As a nostalgic run we bought it as adults and beat it and it was so disappointing. When I told my brother completionist did a video he said "Yeah Glover is so nostalgic, but it's nostalgic for the blockbuster era where no one had time to realize how bad it was."
