Nice, been looking around for this particular model to restore, saw one with 5 doors but a lot of work to do... Take care of that legend beast from the 80's bud.
Is it for sale!?? I had one just like it in high school only mine was ram and white. Slowest vehicle I’ve ever owned. Barely got over 45mph but love it. Want another
Those aftermarket 4x4 decals are like a rotten cherry on the most prestine pie. Otherwise: very cool and original rig. Whatsup with the Congo sticker? Cheers
I have one of these, 4 door, in Oregon which I am considering selling. Five speed manual transmission, new clutch. It is a little beat, but very reliable.
2nd worst vehicle I ever owned. Mine was an '87 with the 2.3 gas engine. Coolant started disappearing from the very beginning. Engine oil went out the tailpipe. The paint wouldn't stay on. The rear doors began rusting almost immediately, the front brakes did the same until they started sticking and had to be completely rebuilt which cost more than a replacement engine for dad's Chevette. The manual gearbox lunched its own gears within months of being out of warranty. It was a nice truck, but the quality was unbelievably bad. It just couldn't survive Canadian conditions. The only thing worst than the Trooper II was the '91 Rodeo that followed it...
I just love these troopers .. love the diesel sound
I am resoring one now. Mine is gas burner 2.3 been totally rebuilt. New everything !

Nothing like the 80's box look of cars.

Good luck with your restoration!
Own a SWB 2door '84 in rough condition. Love it, I can only imagine how this one will drive!
I love the 80's 4x4 vehicles, they just look more rugged and boxy.
RIP 1982-1998

That dealership tag on the back: Van York in High Point, NC is now a Toyota Dealership and still has a great reputation here in Greensboro.
