That honestly does not surprise me, when norinco stuff was being banned a lot of people bought their guns just to hold onto anf resell, I've seen it a lot with the AK rifles made in China and it's not surprising to see one with the m1911s they made too

The last round malfunction was most likely a magazine malfunction, also that magazine is not original, Norinco mags were unmarked on the baseplate and a complete copy of a USGI wartime mag with tapered "harball" feed lips. The mag in your video is most likely some no-name mag, not an actual Colt mag, many have been marked "Colt .45 Auto" or some such over the years, as well as a large number of counterfeit out of spec USGI-copy mags that appear to have USGI markings but are easily identified by the wonky witness holes in the sides of the mag.

I've seen the counterfeit GI mags firsthand when I bought a handful of them and saw that the witness holes were off when I opened them and I saw the same when I looked at Drew's magazine. In retrospect I should have let him try the gun again with my Check mate USGI mag I had on hand but it was Cold and getting darker so we called it a day. Thank you for the comment you have confirmed my theory.
