  • We will welcome Vladimir Putin in South Africa. this is according to Fikile Mbalula here in interview with HardTalk's Stephen Sakur. In the interview Mbalula says that Russian President Vladimir Putin is welcomed in South Africa as a member of BRICS and that SA can never arrest a head of state.
He also stressed that Tony Blair has still not been arrested for lying about weapons of destruction in Iraq and for the millions of people who've been killed in the war in Iraq.

You are sitting as a member of the UN which is an international organization supposed to manage peace and security in the world. One of the members invades a neighbour, bombs cities, infrastructure, causes civilian deaths, displaced millions of people, kidnaps children, annexes territory which it declares as part of its own empire. The organization asks you as a member to vote to reprimand the invader. You say I abstain from voting. When asked why you say it’s got nothing to do with me. Mandela said the invaders are not my enemies so I won’t vote to reprimand them. It’s got b all to do with apartheid- it’s about what is right. Well good luck in the world you live in.

The ICC was created by the US, which they are no longer a part of. Why should SA arrest Putin or even get instructions from the US about his arrest? USA wants us to do their dirty job for them because they have power hunger games they want to score against Russia. Just because they invest so much in SA now their enemy should be our enemy?

@@maseratifittipaldi Nope, the number of people who are connected is just as important. Mbalula really hit the nail on the head when he mentioned this topic. I personally have seen the speed at which anc have connected previously disadvantaged people, even after they build low cost homes and communities they are very speedy in connecting electricity.
People always conveniently like to gloss over anc's achievements just so that they can hammer on about its failures. Regardless of whether we like or hat the anc we should always be honest about it just like we are always honest about the failures and achievements of the apartheid regime. Heck even people who are still living in tribal huts in South African villages have electricity!
We also forget that even if theft and corruption was not a factor, Democratic South Africa still would have not had the time and budget to build plants fast enough to meet the connection rate. Building a single plant takes almost 10 years, while connecting a community takes 1-2 years. So in that 10 year period where you are still spending a trillion rand on a new single plant, you have probably connected enough new people to the grid that you actually need two new plants at the end of that 10 year period.

Am from Zambia and am of the view that Mbalule was equal to the task. When the country is developing and the demand is high for electricity, the produced capacity is outweighed by demand to be connected to the National Grid, the outcome is load shedding. the way forward is to enhance production to meet demand.
Bravo Mbalula for telling off stephen Sackar about Putin, this Sackar chap forgot about the crimes bush and blair committed.

So Fikile, your party must clearly be proud of the state of the Post Office, SAPS, the railways, in short, every SOE? Forget about atrocities and mistakes made by other countries, concentrate on your responsibility. That is all you need to do.

ANC politicians never answer any question directly. Fikile was asked multiple yes or no questions and he found a way beat around the bush instead of just answering.
Always great at having comebacks like when he brought up USA & Iraq etc (well played by the way lol, I enjoyed that)
But outside of that ai, I’m praying for a change for this beautiful country. Grateful for all the good ANC has done, no one saying they didn’t do any good but right now they are doing more bad than good and that’s not what we need.
