This is truly shocking. I really thought that, upon seeing a big hunk of dead meat, a carnivorous animal's first instinct would be to call a funeral service.
I like how you think/
It reminds me when I was a teenager in the 90s. My dad (former police officer) forgot a file on his desk and while opening it, I saw pictures the body of this old lady partially eaten by her cats after she was murdered in her apartment!! Poor cats had to feed themselves a way or an other...
A J ahhh jeez
I hated cats for my entire 30 years of life. I fell on hard times and moved in with my brother. His cat Oscar and I formed a bond that no words could ever describe. I love him more than life itself now and can't wait to be in a position to rescue a cat of my own.
He's going to eat you eventually.
When cats don't want a little piece of salami anymore but they want more
DIO, how many people have you killed!
Cats can have a little corpse. As a treat.
Garfield when he's out of lasagna
I watched this with my cat. When I turned and looked at him he just meowed and took off running...
I think he wants to kill me😱
he actually loves you, he just doesn't understand science, but they have it in their body.
This is what your cat and dogs say when you die:
"It has been a long wait but now I finally get to see what you *TASTE LIKE!!* "
That's gruesome, but I bet your comment is accurate
@@supersonictumbleweed 😛
@@TheGolfdaily I mean I heard ordinary people joke about that so the thought crosses the mind
Speak for yourself, I know tons of cats and dogs that lick the living beejeezus out of their owners 😂 they know what they taste like.
As a Cat lover I'd be honored .
Same
Dogs have way more bite pressure than a domestic cat and much stronger teeth. They'll probably eat your body sooner because they don't have to wait until you've decomposed a bit and softened up.
Why is anyone surprised about this? You can't feed them or let them out to hunt so what do you expect them to eat?
“Feeling really good right now about having a dog”
Haha all while your dog is actually more likely to eat your face after you pass and not wait very long either.
When I die I want to be eaten by my cats
I have a question;
Say your cat ate your mother.
Will you still keep it?
@@TheGolfdaily you made my brain stop working I don't know how to answer
@@Lorenzo_G_C
I asked you the question because I was wondering about that my self..
@@TheGolfdaily i would keep my cat😂.
@@TheGolfdaily yo wtf?
The answer will be no, I won't keep it
"I'm really glad I have a dog." Pah-leez! If a companion animal is locked in with no source of nutrition is going to feed on whatever's available. It's survival.
Change the f****in title... Cats are not the only pets to do that... Stop the prejudice
Oh, another crazy cat person
@Prasant Kouwar everyday i wake up i just choke my cat for 5 minutes i think it got used to it

So you hurt your cat
@Zeno 6282 cat's aren't the only animal that suffers
@Zeno 6282 don't use Unnecessary words like dumbasses its cool but doesn't sound right
My mother passed away in her house and was dead for almost 5 days before we found her. I'm sure all or some of her 27 cats with no food or water left had to survive somehow...is it upsetting? I'm not sure...what I'm sure of if she was gone, and she would have cared more about them surviving. I adopted 2 of them and they're the most loving cats ever. It's meat and you're starving, not a cat trait, but a survival trait.
Why would an elderly obviously vulnerable woman be left that long without any of her children knowing?
What are her children good for in that case?
What you wrote is just bizarre tbh
I can't believe the westerns society.... how cruel and inhumane you become... is it running in your blood?
And you still talking like nothing happened....
Poor mother.
@@yeshuasage3724 I'm actually shocked..that I read that ... and since 6 months nobody responded to that creepy comment.... literally horrible... u witnessed your MOM got eaten and you're okay with it .
Holy crap! 27 cats?
Because...meat.
I mean, obviously they're going to eat the easily available food. Especially if they go hungry for a few days before.
I mean, if I was sitting around with no food to be seen around except of my cat which died a few minutes ago, I would definitely eat it for survival
The Seductive Potato and theres not anything wrong with that! people are too pretentious, might gasp at what you said with a “HOW COULD YOU? I WOULD NEVER!” but they dont realize that _survival_ is more important than your pet- who would already be dead at this point. love them to your fullest extent during their life, but once theyre dead does it _matter?_
imagine wanting to stay alive
Researchers would've known this earlier, cats eat their own kittens because of hunger.
I'ma make sure my cats in my room when I die. Just making sure he's fed.
Honestly if I'm dead, I don't mind eaten by my cats if that can help them survive.
Cat: "Hmm, tasty human."
Human: "Uh oh, I must be dead."
:)
Cat Ramsey: This human is raw!
Rui Ni where’s the human salsa.

Why would i care if my cat eats my dead body? Im dead what can i do? At least he would be happy to eat some supreme meat
I hope if I randomly die my cat would eat me to survive. I'd give my life to save my cat what difference does it make if he eats me while im already dead.
This is definitely something we were all curious about. Thank you, Wired, for your service.
I know its off putting, but I kind of understand. We seem to forget they're animals. And animals that are adapted and is in their instinct to hunt and scavenge. If you're dead, they aren't gonna look at you as an owner anymore, I mean...you're dead. After that you're food.
In some cultures, eating corpses was seen as a respectful ritual.
Then you don't have to bury Uncle Beppi. Set the cat on him!
I don’t need a “cat expert” to tell me this.... that’s why no one has researched this, Wired. There’s nothing to research
If a cat kills me through cuteness, will they eat me? 🤔🤔
When Garfield runs out of lasagna
Let me guess... because human flesh tastes like chicken?
pork, if cannibal forums are to believed and considering we are omnivores... Honestly I expected them to tell us we taste like monkey, but since in Europe it's not usually on the menu, pork must be the next best comparison.
@@HisameArtwork some tribes say a mix of pig and goat.
@@HisameArtwork Not every human eats meat. Some that don't would taste different than those that do, common sense. You are what you eat.
I mean, if I die suddenly I don’t want my cat to starve to death. My body could sustain her long enough for someone to find us. Honestly I don’t care what happens to my body after I die, so continuing to provide food for my cat would be actually kinda cool.
There is a book about it called Will My Cat Eye My Eyeballs?
As someone who plans to live alone with 4 cats in the future, if I do meet with a sudden death or I die of old age and people are going to find me only after a few days, I would actually want my cats to eat my dead body so they don’t actually starve and die as well
4:07 _"feeling really good right now that I have a dog"_
Well... I have bad news for you....
Edit. 5:22 Exactly! Thank you!
Edit2. 8:28 Sorry, I respectfully disagree... especially if we're talking about dogs.
Thx you so many children eaten alive by dogs....
Hungry humans eat their pets too.
2:16 It's morbidly cute. They choose their favorite humans and feast on them (spend time with them). I wouldn't mind if it happened to me after death. I would feel honored even
People ate people throughout history whether it be the Donner Party, Siege of Leningrad, etc. so I don't think cats much less dogs would do the same thing when faced with the prospect of starvation.
*China really pulled out the Uno reverse card on cats*
It's just the natural instinct of them. They're hungry and there's meat lying around, why not eat it? If we human were in their situation, we might also do that. That's what keep their species alive.
This is why I have a Fish
vAqeii if you would follow the whole video you’ll come to know that there are more recorded incidence of dogs eating their owners. Lol. Rest in peace 😂
See 5:23. Amen.
expert : feral cats and domesticated cat are both cats

I would happily let my cat eat me if I was dead... pass on my body, put it to use
I just found my cat eating a spiderweb ._.
ANSWER: Because they are carnivores.
There, I spared you watching this video. I didn't either.
Morals are good to live in a society and in a peaceful and harmonious way but survival overwrites those moral values.

Also I tried to pet a cat who used to come to my house EVERYDAY let me pet her, cuddled and all until 1 day I went out and wasn't able to give her food, it NEVER came back
