is the first of four videos I made of tearing down a STIHL MS210C
Chainsaw. Overall Trouble Shooting, clean up, and Tune up. First Time I've ever taken a Chainsaw apart... I'm pretty impressed with myself right now : )

Saw arrived yesterday th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and today I cut about 3/4 cord of wood with it. Make sure you get an extension chord that is at least 12 gauge wire, minimum. This is my first electric in about 10 years, and things sure have improved. The self-sharpener works great, and it just kept cutting through some pretty decent logs. Wear your eye protection, and ear protection. Excellent saw.

    Great job!
Many people might find more confidence and inspiration in seeing an amateur try and succeed at this than in watching a pro knock it over in ten minutes. Thanks for sharing, you give me the confidence to crack my own open

There shouldn't be anything the average person can't do that a so called professional can. Minus any specialty tools, most "professional" are usually taking advantage of the ignorant

    Hey Dan,
You gave me the courage to take apart my MS250, and I was terrified before watching your video that I could pull it off.
I know nothing about engines so after spark plugs didn’t fix, and then the magneto (sp?) cleaning I was still not getting it to fire steady.
Last piece I took the muffler cover off, hit it with sandpaper to clean all gunk built up on cover, spacer and metal plate covering the engine case.
Couple pulls I got it to fire. Then held down the trigger with a few pulls and got it to stay running steady…now works like a charm.
Thank you for the chaotic videos, fit right in line with what I was struggling through 
    - Chris

    • @DBassTube

It was. I typically use the Tru Fuel premixed ethanol-free gas. Much better for your small engines.

I just want to confirm what John said. that was REALLY clear gas, (almost water), double check your fuel to oil ratio. (sorry, I should have read further down). BTW, I would have saved that gas for a bigger motor,(lawnmower or car), just so it wasn't wasted.

Great video D Bass, very informative and I decided to do the same with my still. I gave you a like but please buy a tripod. Same with all of you who read this, if you make videos invest in a tripod. Thanks great job

Thank you for the advise. Yes. I have one now, and a couple of better cameras as well. Haven't uploaded anything in a little while, but the videos I have taken over the past few months are much better quality with the tripod.

I got an old Husky chainsaw from a yard sale. The owner had taken it to the Husqvarna dealer and it had their tag on it saying the ignition system was dead. I paid $10 for it took it home took the cover off and found the wire had come of the kill switch. These people would rather sell you a new saw that do their job and fix your current one.

Hard to believe a real Stihl dealer would try to rip you off! If so, find a new dealer, and complain to Stihl headquarters, and let everyone know in your area how you were treated.

Best way to tune a Stihl is to first remove the lid from your garbage can and then simply drop the piece of crap into the bin and walk away.....go buy something better ....Echo comes to mind....
