I can relate. I trained most of my life and an accident put me in a wheelchair in 2019. I had 3 surgeries and had a broken left femur and impaled through my back with shrapnel. I learned to walk again and can now move freely, but that took a year. It was the most depressing time of my life. I hope he is ok.
I had some thing similar my self. And my advice is don't push your self to perfection without extremely taking care of your body. God bless this man I want to give him a hug💪💪💪
He had an Aortic dissection and luckily survived the surgery, at best you have a 10% chance of survival. 8 out of 10 people are dead in 3 minutes, I know because i also had one. The problem with Chris is that he went against the advice of his doctor and went back to 600lb squats and destroyed the repair made by his surgeon and is now paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of his life.
Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering how it happened. Glad you also survived it too. Same thing happened to my best friend. This reminds me of Ronnie Coleman in that they don’t know how to pump the breaks. It’s always go go go!
Los jueces estarían drogados😂, solo míralo al lado de Markus, parecía un simple aficionado, en fin, políticas del culturismo que no es para nada objetivo
2007, IFBB Pro Kris Dim, 39, came face to face with death when he suffered a tear in the inner wall of his aorta. This potentially fatal incident caused massive blood flow between the layers of the wall of the aorta. The aorta is the highest pressure spot in the body, so when there is a rupture, there is bound to be serious ramafications. Basically, when this rare occurrence happens, the person generally dies very quickly. Aortic dissection has a 80% mortality rate and more than half of the people die before they even get to the hospital. Kris Dim miraculously survived this medical emergency and even competed again after his recovery! Sadly, Kris’ medical troubles only began in 2007. Recently, Kris went back under the knife to repair a stent. When Kris came out of surgery, his doctors told him, “Sorry, you have a spinal cord injury, and there is a chance that you will never walk again.” image001I had never heard of someone having heart surgery and coming out of it paralyzed, so I called the most knowledgable person I know on medicine, IFBB Pro Dr. Victor Prisk. Dr. Prisk actually informed me that this does happen, although it is extremely rare. The chances of being paralyzed after surgery occurs in 12 out of 100,000 patients. The Artery of Adamkiewicz is the largest anterior segmental medullary artery and that is the artery that is connected to the spine from the aorta. If the artery has a spasm during surgery, in this case when the stent was being replaced, a stroke of the spinal cord can take place. The stroke can then stop circulation in the spinal column, causing the loss of the use and feeling in the legs. I asked Dr. Prisk for Dim’s chances of recovery and even Dr. Prisk had to look this one up. He told me in a sullen voice, “There is a .03% chance that Kris will walk again.” In a text message Kris said. “I 100% believe that I will be walking again. I have feeling back in my legs, and I can move my knees and toes.” If you look back on all the astounding statistics in this story and in Kris’ life, you’ll find that either Kris Dim has been extremely lucky or extremely unlucky, depending on how you look at it. So, if there is anyone that can beat the odds, it is Kris Dim! krisgethin12bDuring my research for this story, I talked to a bunch of Kris’ friends and associates and everyone had very positive things to say about him. The universal theme of these conversations was sadness for Kris’ situation and the belief that if anyone could overcome such a dramatic obstacle, it was Kris. I know everyone at RxMuscle is behind him, and we all wish him a speedy full recovery!

@@gabrydark88 Sad to see this happen to anyone, but I wouldn't think it would happen to someone pretty much in their prime, physically wise. The damage we do to our bodies in our lifetime makes you think we are invincible
He had a stent from complete blockage then he had a Heart attack during a procedure to repair another stent which failed and caused him to have a stroke leaving him paralyzed
Was his health problem because of bodybuilding and taking substances (like every other bobybuilders not natural)...or was it only bad luck, a genetic problem from birth...or the combination of these 2 factors ?
God bless him ,but a sport that you have to take peds to the extent that a huge proportion of the competitors are desperately unfit, and unhealthy to the point they are dying very young is just nonsense.Maximum respect for his bravery and determination , but the" sport" is a joke.I mean what can you do with all that muscle when your gonads are like peanuts .
He had a stent from a complete blockage from all the steroids he was taking then he had a massive heart attack but during surgery to have another stent placed he had a stroke which caused him to become paralyzed, definitely not with it he’s actually very fortunate to have lived but is living the rest off your life paralyzed in a wheelchair a life anyone would want to live pretty sad
