Alex Bent, the drummer, really has brought their sound together. He really is a freak, he's that good on every track

The drum mixing on every record Alex has played on has been so good. Its like ear candy i can’t stop listening
They’re not back from a break they released an album in 2020 called what the dead man say and its absolute killer like this song from start to finish.

If you watch Alex play, something like this is almost effortless for him. It’s second nature for him, he’s amazing and fits in very well with Trivium.
Man, this feel takes me back to Ascendancy days. The riffs and the vocals are so Trivium.
They keep saying that they haven’t released music in a while. Dead Men was last year! Lol
2020 Trivium released What The Dead Men Say which was an AMAZING album, not much of a break fellas

To also throw in a recommendation, you should check out Structures' new single Planet of Garbage! Their singer and guitarist was Northlane's latest bass player and backing vocalist and has just left the band to get Structures back together. Their new EP is a BANGER, you won't be disappointed!

@@johnnyneedham9831 joining Northlane meant having to relocate from Canada to Australia for Brendon so I'm sure that played a big part in it as well. As far as I know there's no bad blood between him and the band though.

the song honestly could've been an extra on their latest album "what the dead men say". Sounds very close to "amongst the shadows and the stones" which has become one of my all time favorite trivium songs. I'd give "in the court" a solid 8/10.
Times Of Grace - Mend You
It was huge, a lot. The song changed many times enlightening the absurd talent of this band members. I haven't listened to much of them, but that's involved me. Plus, I love so much when the scream is heavy but I can understand the lyrics.

Huge Trivium fan, from Ember to Inferno their first..I personally luv every track they make, seen all of their concerts and at Soundwave...they have been pumping out recent music for ages guys.. watch and listen to "What the Dead Men Say album.. The Sin and the Sentence" from 2018, Silence in the Snow 2015.. the list goes on. EPIC NEW TRACK.

WHat I found most astonishing is that the last two records of theirs were INSANE... And I was thinking like "Ok.... What's next... How they gonna keep up with that?" ==> And they be like: BEHOLD THIS, MY FRIEND!!!
Alex is such a beast at the drums and his playstyle and time structures and expertise really elevate Trivium to places out of this planet....
Reaction band : Kapital - Mantra
Trivium's my favorite band so will try to not fanboy too much. As everyone else has mentioned, Alex Bent has finally made this band whole again. Ever since Travis Smith left, they've been struggling to find someone who can mesh with them not just technically but also creatively. Bent on the drums has allowed the songwriting on the last 2 albums, and this up-and-coming album, to expand dramatically.
Also, yes, the screaming went away for a bit. Matt blew out/wrecked his voice after Vengeance Falls and needed to stop screaming and relearn how to sing (its why Silence in the Snow has no screams at all). Which is why The Sin and the Sentence was basically a rebirth; Matt could scream again and Alex was now no drums.
As for the length of the song, I actually would have like it longer. I thought they could have done a solo pt3 where the bass transition was pushed the bass transition to after that 3rd solo. I don't want metal bands to be afraid of solos. Trivium's title track "What the Dead Men Say" had a very brief solo which could have been expanded 5-fold. Same with As I Lay Dying's "Redefined." Expand on those shreds!

I actually felt like this song needed a basic video so you could appreciate the track more (which is amazing). Alex Bent (the new drummer) is absolutely insane. It's almost like he goes into his own zone when playing, and seeing them live it's actually strange because he's so calm and laid back whilst performing. Perfect example is his Betrayer playthough: th-cam.com/video/k7ftjTk2j5A/w-d-xo.html He replaced Paul Wandkte, who can hold his own bloody well too.
Seems the story was written for the video clip, and takes inspiration from folklores (like many of Triviums stuff).
If you guys are up for checking bands out, Halocene just released an original song called "When Demons Come to Life", it'd be neat if you guys reacted to it!
