Great video Tim, informative, personal, funny, relevant. I think Practical Sailor is very lucky to have your help to liven up and digitize. Great work!
Practical Sailor made a wise choice.
The Westerbeke on our 1998 380 just took us around the Great Loop, so no complaints. Sure, it's a 25 year old engine with 3,500 hours and has 25 year old engine issues occasionally (transmission shifter seal, corroded transmission cooler), but we maintain it well and it has never let us down!
I have subscribed to Pratical Sailor magazine because I am a Lady K. fan! Tim is the best!!
me to
same here
A complete circumnavigation of the three media! As 1st, you'll get to invent the ceremony ofc. =)⚓
me too!
I owned a new Jeanneau SO 36i for 11 years. I was a Practical Sailor subscriber for 12 years. I must have reread each issue several times. It was my first boat, and Practical Sailor was my best friend and mentor. Thank you. Now I am waiting for my Nordhavn 475.
I love our Catalina 380 featured in this video (Double Dutch).
We have no problem storing our nested Magma pot set under the sink, along with bowls, and a salad spinner. Frying pans lean up against the hot water reservoir under the sink and are fitted perfectly with the size of our stove top burners. We also have a shelf in front of the hot water reservoir that stores all of our kitchen utensils in a plastic Tupperware. I have a spot for everything.
My husband, who's 6'6" and I 5'8" can both sleep comfortably in the vberth. In the aft cabin we sleep with our heads at the engine end to maximize on space and leave our feet at the shallower end.
Great boat!
Jennifer
We store our nested Magma pot set in the oven, but we have to move the rack from the regular position to the oven floor so it fits.
Another excellent video Tim. Good luck in your PS journey!
So, I'm in land locked Islamabad, Pakistan and never miss an episode of Lady K ... and now we'll get to see more of Tim in Practical Sailor as well... what a bonus!
long time lady K follower. Good to see you're committed to expanding and modernizing an already amazing publication. Fair winds!
As a want to be sailor, (retired ) I really appreciate all the detailed and insightful information. I watched the video twice. Thanks!
Hi, not retired quite yet, but also a wannabe sailor. I've done some sailing but not enough to consider myself experienced. Good luck with your ambitions.
Congrats on the job! The TH-cam algorithm just put this video and channel in front of me, and now I’m subscribed. Looking forward to more from Lady K at the helm.
Tim, you are a great presenter. As a small boat sailor keeping his eye on a future sailboat for cruising I very much appreciate your content.
Same here. Currently a dinghy sailor (Precision P15) but thinking about the "go small go now" school of thought.
Great to see, Tim, that you've joined with Practical Sailor! I've been enjoying your Lady K boat reviews on TH-cam and, like yourself, for years I've enjoyed Practical Sailor each month, it's essential reading for every sailboat owner, in my opinion.
Tim, Congrats on the new job! Perfect fit, I’m so glad.
This may turn into one of our favorite channel's , right along with Lady K Sailing .
The honest, pros and cons are so very reassuring. Thank you Tim!
Congratulations on the association with Practical Sailor, Tim.
I watch your channel almost daily, PS couldn't have found a better editor-in-chief!
Love it Tim. Thank you. Three Tim a week. Couldn’t be better.
As an avid sailor and owner of a Catalina 30 that I refurbished and is now the pride of the marina. I wouldn’t mind being considered to provide content.
Good stuff! I'm a veteran sailor and hear the truth in everything you say...keep up the good work!
Really appreciate the boat reviews. Keep em' coming
Great job Tim! thanks for the head room measurement! Its an important detail that gets left out a lot on boat reviews!
6'9" headroom in most of the main salon. V-berth has about 6'4". Aft cabin has 2 spots that are 6'9". Head, and even the shower has 6'9" headroom. We love using the shower. I'm 6'6", so I notice and appreciate the headroom. Big selling feature for me.
Hey Tim, love your videos and this series looks like it will be a great one! Keep up the good work!
Great review and channel. I learned a lot. You have a great style and delivery! Thank you!
What a great video! Thank you for all of it. We are looking forward to seeing more from you and Practical Sailor. -- Phil & Kay

Hey Tim, great job on the first episode!!! Looking forward to everything to follow!!!
Such a well thought, well edited video. I appreciate your good grammer and moderate consideration of multiple factors too! Thank you for putting this together!
I have a new favorite sailing channel, thanks Tim.

I've loved and subscribed to practical sailor for years. Fan to Tim videos about a year ago. What a great marriage.
Great video Tim and glad to see you here!
Hey, thanks!
Tim, they could have not made a better choice for a spokes person. Superb personality presenter, even tempered and cool calm voice with intense knowledge. Well done Tim And Practical Sailor. Jim Rodgers
Hey Tim, great to see you moving forward with this channel. Congrats!.. I would love to see a history/ model availability of the Farrier/ Corsair marine trailerable trimaran.
I appreciate all you do for all sailors new and experienced 🍻
Excellent video. Thanks for the shout out. I really enjoyed the conversation with you leading up to the video. We absolutely love out 1999 380. Really looking forward to new PS TH-cam channel.
Excellent! Tim, I feel that Practical Sailor have chosen the right person for the job. Congratulations again. Happy Sailing⛵.
Just the comparison of boat size and options that we are considering. Most helpful!
I love the really helpful straight foward info. "Bang for the buck" is important. Thanks.
Great video, been watching your Lady K. channel for over a year now and love it. This content with Practical Sailor with comparisons to other boats in the class is perfect. I've only owned a Coronado 27 and a Catalina 27, but when the day comes to get a big boat I will be following your advise .
Helpful video Tim!! Well Done!
I own a 1999 Catalina 380 with the Westerbeke 42B I have 1100 hrs on it, starts right up and Ive never had any problems with it. The key with any marine diesel is regular maintenance.
Tim, like the new look. As always thank you for insights.
Congrats Tim. I’m confident you’re the right man for the job! Looking forward to seeing future videos and contents.
I’ve been subscribed to PS TH-cam channel and have waited for years for this day to come! What a great supplement to the print edition!
Great to see you in the Practical Sailor crew, Tim. I think that your presentations will bring PS nicely into the digital scene. Looking forward to much more!
Now I have 2 channels to get excited about every week! Always interesting and 'practical' information on both. Love what you do and thankful you have the opportunity to stretch your wings even wider
I appreciate the videos and analysis.
Great reviews. Keep up the good work!
It's great to see Tim's knowledge put to work for Practical Sailor. I've been a big fan of your other channels and you have a way of presenting information that really appeals to the everyday (or potential) sailor .
A GREAT first start!! Thanks!!
Love Practical Sailor, I just wish I had more time to read each issue. Congrats on the new gig Tim, I became a C&C owner thanks to your video.
Great informative video. Hope this channel grows keep Tim busy:)
Yay! Lady K sailing on the practical sailor!! Couldn’t ask for better!
Great video. I'm new to sailing and have followed Lady K. Great to discover Practical Sailor and all it has to offer.
This is exactly the size and age of boat my wife and I are looking at getting for our first boat.
Thank you for the info!
Amazing layout, really enjoy the comments from other owners on the boat. This is a much better boat review then the typical "Here is the bed" layout.
Just subscribed. Looking forward to the content you provide.
Really enjoyed it I'll be watching
Nice 😂see you on Practical Sailor - looking forward for your weekly videos
I'm thinking Tim will be appearing in Catalina 380 garb! Great review, Sir. Always nice to see an episode with good comparisons for a specific price range of yacht. Thank you.
Great review! Very thorough
First time watcher. Thank you for the information as I am researching sailboats of this size. My comment would be to add some information on future boat reviews to include whether they could accommodate a generator, (not a portable one). I'm planning on keeping the sailboat in Florida and A/C will be a must. Thanks!
Great video. I really like the format, deep dive on 1 boat with broad coverage of competitors.
Great video one again!! As I'm new to sailing, all the informations you give is gold to me! I would like to learn more about the different engine brands and set up. Also, is there parts difficult to find for some boats like masts, booms or water tanks? As I'm looking for older boats that needs love, I don't want that to turn into a mission impossible scenario. Thank you so much!!
Congrats on the new channel Tim 👏subscribed
Man it's impressive to see someone with so much knowledge on boats!!! You are perfect for the job and we love hearing your opinions, keep up the good work! You did an episode on James Wharram and his boats. I would love to see more content on wharram boats!
Great video Tim. Thank you.
Great fit Practical Sailor ! An editor- in- chief that gets it!
Very helpful i have the 36ft Catalina she sail very well
Great job and good luck to the new venture
Nice review Tim keep up the good work.
Suggested topic: Anchors, Chains (the ones that don't rust), and Windlass. Being able to anchor without stress is huge and usually overlooked at how important it is by new sailors. How much chain, how heavy and what type of anchor, what type and pros and cons of different types of windlass? Thanks in Advance!
Already a subscriber for years, appreciate all the good info received through those years. Own a C&C 30-2 Racer Cruiser, been up and
down the middle Atlantic coast, NH to S NC on 3 week cruises. Reserved 45+ footers for bare boating in BVIs. Less expense, more fun
Tim, congratulations on this transition. Your experience as a life long racer and cruiser on a budget brings a broad experience to Practical Sailor’s digital endeavor.
I enjoy your presentations because they are balanced and you avoid injecting personal conformational bias. Practical Sailor, my favorite sailing publication, will be well served by their choice of bringing you aboard their team. 👍
Love the new channel. I would love to see a video of sailing in Europe
Great video. Well done. I’ve given you the thumbs up and subscribed. I look forward to seeing you again on both channels.
Wow great episode Tim ,
Thanks for this review, Tim! Would love to see a review of the Dufour 470.
Looking forward to many more videos 🎉
Congrats on the launch, Tim!
Wow a online Practical Sailor! This is great. I always loved the mag, and it's excellent advice and reviews. And lady K sailing viewpoints, what a killer combination!
