@@tjlazer6631 Saying it's "just a video game" is an extremely run-of-the-mill way of saying you have no media literacy. The series was already in deep water due to no russian, and this game was being released during the at the time ongoing afghanistan and iraq war, where soldiers took their lives either in combat or after returning home.
@jimjellyjinjamjimbo You can depict wars and battles based on real events, but not ones where an ongoing highly controversial war (which one of them RECENTLY ended) is being depicted. What do you think happened with six days in fallujah? While that doesn't happen in this case, the game's depiction of veteran suicide is harmful to the extremely controversial and STILL relevant topic of veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan having IMMENSELY high suicide rates.
Seems like a reasonable move considering vastly more American soldiers die from suicide once they get back home because they didnt have the mental strength to handle actual combat.
Someone whos seen war isnt gonna get offended by a virtual character commiting suicide after being wounded. Only crybaby journalists and suburban moms would
@@brokenpotato438This is such an ignorant take, lmao. You forget this game was released while the Iraq war was STILL ongoing. An animation like this in a game about military conflict is highly pushing the boundaries of the ESRB (clearly defined, and NOT crybabies, btw.)
@@Catninjax There was beta build footage some years back (I believe what is shown here was most of it besides some stills on other maps) and just in general leaks that this was the original Second Chance animation. The suicide animation was deemed too much thus was removed.
@@stefan5430 you don't die, giving you the chance to kill the player who downed you. it also gives teammates the opportunity to revive you but you die if you're down for too long, or you can kill yourself if you don't see a revive happening. it was a mechanic added to world at war and stayed in a few games since
“You can have a brutal war game with people getting on fire and having their limbs blown off, but you can’t show someone shooting themselves!”
this animation has more identity than Vanguard
I cant remember but i feel like this animation was originally from world at wars second chance system
Should have kept it that’s pretty awesome
I mean Treyarch probably said the same thing, publisher side has to ruin somethings...
Ever play Syndicate? There's....A lot of suiciding people in that shooter.
Meanwhile, persona 3:
Your call of duty future warfare videos and that mw2 alpha ending vid is crazy man how did you even find this stuff.
bo1 weapons had a very fast kill time
Gnarly
Tbf it would've bumped it to get an AO rating, which wouldve killed the game on arrival
I swear this was in the PEGI/European version??
@youtubersfirstvideoknown4983
I just got MPLA'd
I highly doubt that
Is there footage of playable prototype level from MW 2007 Cobra Pilot, or it was other channel?
Yeah there is. I'll upload a video eventually
They have it in the campaign right?
but the severed limbs are ok...
Because severed limbs don't fall under the category of veterans taking their own lives in combat?
@@cammy8580 There is no diffrence it's just video game, how you can ban this but any other warcrime in this game is ok?

@@cammy8580LOL but you can show people killing each other brutally throughout the game through settings based on real historical events. Okay.

They have very clearly designed standards that devs have to follow. 3arc knew they were pushing the limits with this.

I think it looks cool but what is the benefit of having this since enemy gets the points if you execute yourself also
you never played the trayarch cod games?

Such a shame. It's not like it was being glorified, "hold X to take the coward's way out" right?
